January 2024

The 2024 Budweiser Super Bowl Ad is Here!

Well, this just made my heart all happy.

First off, I am a bona-fide horse girl, and naturally, the Budweiser Clydesdales are among my favorite things in life! So, I’m always excited to see a new commercial featuring them.

Especially if it’s a Super Bowl commercial. They always bring their A game.

Here’s their effort for the Super Bowl LVIII titled “Special Delivery”:

Awwww… how can you NOT love horses and dogs? Especially together. HOW???

Also, with the Chiefs back in the SB next Sunday, it’s not just commercials I have to look forward to.  I’m hoping for another victory over SF like they did in 2020. What a great moment that was.

Also, you know, Taylor Swift. I’m glad she chose a guy on The Chiefs, a team I already cheered for. She’s got good taste.

Goooo Chieffffssss!!!

Also, please not hateful comments towards Budweiser, ok? Hating on them is sooooo 2023.

If Kid Rock can forgive them, so can you.

Kate Hudson “Talk About Love”

As promised, Kate Hudson just dropped her debut single “Talk About Love”.

Check it out below:

It’s… not horrible.

Kate can definitely sing. I like the chorus and bridge, but the verses are meh in my opinion. The song gets better as it goes on for sure.

Is it something I would personally download? Nah.  But it IS catchy, and overall, not a bad debut at all.

I’m really interested in hearing more from Kate- her voice is really good, and she’s definitely got some range on her.

She just signed wih Virgin Records, so I’m sure more is on the way!

What do you think of Kat Hudson’s debut single?

“Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” Trailer

Like many 80’s babies, I was into “Ghostbusters” growing up- for some reason, Egon was my favorite character.

Anyhow, the Ghostbusters franchise continues to this day, with a new movie called “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” which features some of the original cast like Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson, as well as some of today’s biggest stars like Paul Rudd (LOVE him!). I’m thinking with this cast, you can’t go wrong.

The trailer just came out this week, and it looks pretty dang fun:

Who you gonna call? Duh.

“Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” hits theaters March 22nd.

Justin Timberlake on “Saturday Night Live”!

Justin Timberlake is poised to have a major 2024.

He announced his album and tour this past week, as well as drop a new single “Selfish”, which is sure to be a huge radio single.

And to top off a pretty stellar week?

Being the musical guest on “Saturday Night Live”- it was his first time on the show in 13 years, and he did not disappoint.

Here’s his new single “Selfish”:

And he also performed another new song “Sanctified”:

Justin still has it, and always will. One of the modern greats for sure!
Justin’s new album “Everything I Thought I Was” drops March 15th, and his “Forget Tomorrow” wolrd tour will hit up 22 dates so far, and you can get them at http://justintimberlake.com

So happy to have Justin back!

Morgan Wallen “Spin You Around” 1/24

Morgan Wallen is at the top of his game.

It seems all the controversy from the past few years has only served to propel his to the top- not just of the Country music charts, but the all-genre charts as well. In fact, Morgan Wallen had not only the #1 overall song of 2023 with “Last Night”, he also had the #1 album with “One Thing at a Time”. Again, this is across ALL the genres, not just Country. Not even Taylor Swift could pull that off this past year.

So, of course, some shady people that Morgan used to work with before he hit it big are going to try to capitilize on that.

Here’s what happened, according to Morgan himself:

Yeah, pretty damn shady, but not suprising, sadly.

So, Morgan pulled a Taylor Swift and re-recorded the fan-favorite “Spin You Around” this week:

Again, the song was written a decade ago, when Morgan was just starting out. It’s not terrible, but you can tell  Morgan has definitely grown as a writer since he put out this song. That being said, I’m sure this song will still be streamed like crazy, because, Morgan Wallen.

Oh, and here he is performing it live in 2015:

The hair is just… no.
Also, Morgan said he is hitting the studio next month to begin working on his next project.

Like it or not, Morgan ain’t going anywhere, and I’m totally ok with that.

I remember meeting him and HARDY a few years back at CRS (Country Radio Seminar) in Nashville at the bar at the OMNI hotel. It was right before they hit it big, and they were drunk as hell and just having a good time with their matching mullets. It’s fun to see how far they’ve come since that night in 2019.

That was only 5 years ago. Dang.

The New Road House Movie Trailer!

Recently, it was announced that a “Road House” remake starring Jake Gyllenhal was in the works.

Not sure how I felt about that, since the original starring the late Patrick Swayze is an 80’s classic.

Well… the offical trailer just dropped, and… it might be worth a watch!

Check it out:

Damn… Jake has been hitting the gym!

Although, lets be honest, it probably won’t be as great as the original- remakes raely are- it does look like it could be fun to watch! Especially as Conor McGregor is involved.

The movie will be available exculsively on Amazon Prime starting March 21st.

What do you think?

Should we be remiking classics?

Will you watch?

Kacey Musgraves “Three Little Birds”

Kacey Musgraves is one of the most beautifully unique artists of our time, and everything she records is really special.

This cover of Bob Marley’s classic “Three Little Birds” is no different.

If you need a pick me up today, here ya go:

Kacey took that, and absolutely made it her own.

I love it! So perfectly peaceful. Bob would be proud.

Kacey’s version of “Three Little Birds” is to be featured on the “Bob Marley: One Love EP” which goes with the movie which will be released in theaters February 14th.
Happy Friday!

Kelly Clarkson Covers Whitney Houston

Kelly Clarkson just went and did it again.

She covered Whitney Houston’s “All the Man That I Need” during her “Kellyoke” segment on “The Kelly Clarkson Show”, and of course, she freaking NAILED it.

Like to the floor and through it.

Covering Whitney is no joke, even for a season vocalist like Kelly. But she proved that there is literally nothing her incredible voice can’t do.

Like, damn.

That’s all I can say.

Justin Timberlake “Selfish”

Justin Timberlake is BACK and ready to rule in 2024.

He just released his new sing;e “Selfish”, and it’s perfect, catchy pop, and I’m sure it’s ging to be a huge hit.

Yep, can totally here a #1 in there.

I mean, it’s Justin Timberlake.

Also, he’s still got it going ON. He was always my favorite of all the boy band guys… he has the looks, talent, and a hell of a sense of humor, and it clearly has served him well.

To be fair, nothing will ever beat this gem:

Pure freaking GOLD>

Justin’s new album “Everything I Thought I Was” will be released sometime this year. Still waiting on that release date- although with “Tonight Show” and “SNL” appearances this week, I’m sure we’ll know soon!

I am so excited for 2024 music-wise, and we are just getting started!

Miranda Lambert Covering Merle Haggard

Ya’ll know I love me some Miranda Lambert, so naturally I get excited over every little thing she puts out musically. Lately she’s been posting acoustic porch sessions of her covering Merle Haggard, and they’re perfection.

Her latest is a cover of “My Own Kind of Hat”.

Enjoy.

Videos like that show why Miranda is a legend already. Her voice and style is absolute Country perfection.

Hopefully she’ll give us some new music this year? I know she’s been writing with Ashley Monroe and Wade Bowen… so you know whatever comes of those session is going to be killer.

Stay tuned!
