Dwight Yoakam has teamed up with Post Malone for a collab called “I Don’t Know How to Say Goodbye”, and the official music video just dropped today, and it’s everything I hoped it would be!
I love that Malin Aikerman and Nina Dobrev are in the video, and I love even more that Post Malone and Dwight Yoakam are riding horses down Sunset Boulevard.
Is it just me, or is Post Malone’s equitation better than Dwight’s?
I’m a horse girl, so I notice these things.
The single is off of Dwight Yoakam’s upcoming album “Brighter Days” due out November 15th.
Look, if Dwight is into Post Malone, I think that settles the argument of whether or not Post Malone belongs in Country.
That being said, Billboard just released their annual “Songs of the Summer” list, and here’s the Top 10:
. “I Had Some Help”, Post Malone and Morgan Wallen:
You know it’s catchy as all get out.
And this is the second Summer in a row that Morgan Wallen had the Billboard Song of the Summer. He was #1 last year, too, with his smash “Last Night”.
This makes him the first artist since 1978 to make that happen. Andy Gibb was the last artist to do it with “I Just Want to Be Your Everything” and “Shadow Dancing”.
Impressive, no?
2. “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”, Shaboozey:
Shaboozey could actually have the Song of the Year with “Tipsy”, as it just clocked it’s 8th week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Again, catchy as hell, and has been living rent-free in my head all Summer.
3. “Not Like Us”, Kendrick Lamar
Easily the Hip Hop song of the Summer. If I still went clubbing like I did two decades ago. I’d have been all about it.
It’s now on my workout playlist, because I’m old.
4. “Espresso”, Sabrina Carpenter
What a Summer Sabrina Carpenter has had. She has two songs on the Billboard Songs of the Summer chart, and now has the #1 album with “Short N’ Sweet” and I absolutely adore her and her sound.
5. “Million Dollar Baby”, Tommy Richman:
Call me crazy, but I’m thinking “One Hit Wonder” with this one. I mean, I may be wrong, but right now that’s how I’m feeling.
Still, super fun song, though.
6. “Please Please Please”, Sabrina Carpenter:
Again, Sabrina is killing it.
7. “Too Sweet”, Hozier:
I remember when Hozier had a hit with “Take Me to Church” years ago. But “Too Sweet” has become his first actual #1 this Summer.
8. “Lose Control”, Teddy Swims
Hot damn, Teddy Swims is amazing. He’ll be around for awhile, as he totally should be. Definitely on of my favorite newer artists on the scene.
9. “Birds of a Feather”, Billie Eilish:
This is definitely my favorite from Billie so far… it really shows off her voice, which is incredible. My only complaint is the lyrics… rot, casket… ew. I have an overactive imagination, and this triggers it. Overall, good song, though!
10. “Beautiful Things”, Benson Boone:
This may be my favorite song of the year, actually.
It reminds me of all the beautiful things in my life, and to not take them for granted.
Really loving Benson Boone as an artist, and can’t wait to see where he goes.
And that’s a wrap on the Billboard Songs of the Summer for 2024.
Yesterday, Post Malone released his highly anticipated “F-1 Trillion” album, and as expected, it’s pretty damn fantastic.
Even if you’re not a fan of Post Malone infiltrating the Country Music scene, I don’t really think you could find fault in the music that he’s put out. It’s solid stuff, and has some of the greatest in Country Music on the album with him. Oh, and then he also dropped the “F-1 Trillion: Long Bed” edition yesterday as well- a surprise 9 song album full of original Country songs of just Post Malone himself. And yes, they’re impressive, too.
I’ve been listening to “F-1 Trillion” these past 24 hours, and here’s my favorite- his collab with Luke Combs “Missin’ You Like This”:
Now, that’s some Country right there. Bonus points for the shout out to Kansas- one of the best states in the nation- and an Exxon station break-up.
Also, Post Malone sounds great on the track, as does Luke Combs (as always), and it’s been in my head for the past day.
Another couple of my favorites on the album include Post Malone’s Dolly Parton collab “Have the Heart” and his collab with Chris Stapleton “California Sober”:
I absolutely love the variety of the artists and sounds on this album, and like it or not, Post Malone just proved himself in Nashville.
I don’t know about you, but I’m getting real excited about the upcoming Post Malone Country album “F-1 Trillion”, which comes out next Friday, August 16th.
Posty just put up a teaser to the latest collab- one with Tim McGraw called “Wrong Ones”, and it’s totally giving a “Real Good Man” vibe.
Post Malone is inarguably one of the biggest stars in the world right now, and he’s about to take over Country music even more when his album “F-1 Trillion” drops on August 16th.
He’s already dominated Hip Hop, Pop and Adult Contemporary… but what was his actual first release?
Ummm… this:
No, I’m not even kidding.
To be fair, it was for a high school art class project, and I’m sure he was just being funny. And he got an “A”, so there’s that.
Also, Post Malone was Leon Dechino at the time… but clearly, the alter ego didn’t stick.
I really can’t imagine why.
Hey, we all have to start somewhere right?
Ether way, Post Malone is continuing to dominate, and sorry haters, it doesn’t look like that’s going to stop anytime soon.
Oh, and in case you missed it, Post Malone’s tracklist for “F 1 Trillion” was accidentally leaked by Target, and it’s prety damn stellar… we’re talking Dolly Parton, Chris Stapleton, Lainey Wilson, Hank Williams Jr., Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley and more.
Sadly, “Why Don’t You Love Me” won’t be making a comeback on the album.
Post Malone is gearing up for the release of his upcoming Country album “F-1 Trillion” and did a live show in Nashville earlier this week at Marathon Music Works. He debuted several new songs, including “Yours”, which he wrote about his 2-year-old daughter getting married one day, and how he will feel if that happens.
As a mother, this basically slays my heart:
Oh, my heart!
You will be hearing this at ALL the weddings for the next couple of decades.
Seriously, I am so impressed with Post Malone and how he’s moving into Country music.
I absolutely cannot wait for his album “F-1 Trillion”, which drops August 16th. He will, of course, have a tour to follow, and you can get those dates at http://Postmalone.com
Her latest album “The Tourtured Poets Department” is spending it’s 11th week at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, with millions of copies of sold so far. Some people are complaining that she keeps releasing different versions of her album to keep the top spot, but so what? People are buying it. That just makes Taylor one hell of a business woman, which we already knew that.
Taylor also just released an acoustic version of her latest single “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone, and it’s just as hauntingly pretty as the original:
Damn, that song is such a mood.
Woman is unstoppable, and sorry haters, you’re gonna see a hell of a lot of her at the Chiefs games this Fall, as she and the NFL have made the schedules so that she could attend as many Chiefs games as possible to cheer on her boyfriend Travis Kelce.
Sorry, Taylor Swift. Your buddy is bringing out the big guns with his upcoming Country album “F-1 Trillion”- not only has he released collabs with Morgan Wallen and Blake Shelton, but now he’s teasing a new track with none other than the badassery that is Chris Stapleton.
He put a small clip of the song on instagram to get us ready:
So far, I am loving what Post Malone is doing. One of the comments on the video is that Post Malone is assembling the “Country Avengers”, and that’s a pretty damn accurate statement.
I’ll be honest, I was skeptical at first when I heard that Post Malone was coming over the Country side. But he’s owning it, and I am realllllly looking forward to “F-1 Trillion” which will be out on August 16th.
Also, he has announced his tour dates following the album’s release, and you can get those at http://PostMalone.com
