New Song of the Week: 2-25-22

I think this is gonna be the Summer bop right here.

Is it nasty? Sure. Catchy as hell? You betcha. About pie? Absolutely not.

Dua Lipa is one of my favorite Pop artists right now, and it’s like she can’t not make a hit.  I’m not a big rap fan- aside from 90’s Hip-Hop because I’m middle aged like that- but if you’re going to have a rapper on a song, Megan Thee Stallion is an obvious choice.

Yes, it’s raunchy, but way less than “WAP” which to this day makes me want to hurl.  This one actually has a great, catchy chorus and a 90’s pop vibe. (Anyone else catching INOJ “Love You Down” similarities?) It’s fun, danceable, and I’m thinking it’s going to be the big Summer smash that all teenagers are going to be singing, much to their parents’ chagrin.

Hey, look, is it any worse than “Get Low”? Or anything we listened to growing up?

Nope.

New Song of the Week: 3-18-22

Carrie Underwood is back with new music today! It’s been a few years since she’s released a solo Country single, so I was curious to hear what she had for us this morning.

I was NOT disappointed.

I actually think this is one of my favorite of hers. Way better than that “Southbound” mess she put out a few years ago.  Carrie is a true vocalist, and I like her better on either ballads, or haunting songs like this.  The party/drinking songs…I just don’t buy it on her.

Anyhow, after hearing this new single, I’m excited to hear what else she’s got for us this year.

New Song of the Week: 3-11-22

Oh, shocker, I’m promoting another Miranda Lambert song.

Well, it’s only because she is DAMN GOOD, and she keeps delivering.

Here’s her new single that dropped this week “Strange”!

I think we can all relate about these last few years being “strange”. Do what you gotta do to keep sane. I hear that.

Also, Miranda is dropping her new album “Palomino” on April 29th.  I just happen to have a Palomino horse, so I’m even more excited about the new album.  I know that sounds dumb, but whatever. It is what it is.

Thank you, Miranda, for always delivering great music.

Jason Michael Carroll Interview

One of my favorite Country artists of the mid-2000’s was Jason Michael Carroll. He had some big radio hits with “Alyssa Lies”, “I Can Sleep When I’m Dead” and “Living Our Love Song” which I loved.  Well, Jason is back with a great new single called “Tell Me Your Name” (Diane’s Song” and he was nice enough to call in and chat about it.

Here’s the new single “Tell Me Your Name”

New Song of the Week: 3-5-22

Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s, New Kids on the Block, Rick Astley, Salt N Pepa and En Vogue were radio staples, and I was into all of them! So, last year, when the Mixtape Tour was announced, I got a little giddy about the line-up. It’s every middle-aged woman’s dream!

Yes, if you’re excited about this, you are middle aged. Own it.

And what shows my middle-age cred even more is how much I love this collab of all the artists menitoned above that dropped this week called “Bring Back the Time” and the muisc video that goes along with it. It pays homage to the great music videos of the 80’s MTV era.

You see kids, before MTV was all lame ass reality shows, it was actual badass music videos, and it was glorious.

Isn’t that the best? It totally made my week.

Check out the Mixtape tour dates here!
