I case you were under a rock these past few days, TENNESSEE BEAT ALABAMA.
It’s kind of a big deal.
Even though I gew up in West Tennessee, I’ve never fully commited to Vols superfandom- but I can appreciate them, and always cheer for them when they’re playing. So, even I was excited that Tennessee beat Alabama this past Saturday night.
It’s been a long damn time coming.
And Morgan Wallen – who like many Country stars are huge Vols fans- just honored the moment with a snippet of a song called “Tennessee Fan”.
Well, that’s kind of perfect, right?
Hopefully he’ll release the full song SOON!!!
What a great way to memorialize a pretty freaking huge moment in Tennessee sports.
Wayyyyy better than tearing down a goal post if you ask me.
I dunno. I support both actions…Mo’, his cuz Bean and some friends going to the game and cheering on the Vols with 102K fans; performing at Saloon 16 (or whatever it’s called), and then going home and putting his experience via video to one of his new songs and posting on IG; and also the tearing down the goal post, parading down the street, and throwing in the river. See this was about repeating the actions after the Florida game in 1998; and believe me; all of this, what looked like Mayhem, was actually supported by the school’s administration. They all had cigars too. Everyone knew what was going to happen. Go back and watch the film and reactions of the refs and other officials seconds after that kick. They were all complicit and even supportive of the extreme fan reaction after the game.
Huh. I’m going to have to check that out!
