Prince “With This Tear”

10 years ago today, we lost the iconic artist Prince.

To commemorate the occasion and to honor the legend, Prince’s estate put out a previously unreleased song from the vault called “With This Tear” which Prince had recorded in 1991:

Dang.

I’m really loving that.

What an incredible talent gone too soon.

Also, how has it been 10 years already?

Oh, and fun fact: Prince offered “With This Tear” to Celine Dion, who then recorded it, and put it on her debut album in 1992.

Wild, right?

Here’s her version:

Prince’s version will be on an upcoming Vault album, which will be coming out in the future.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held at Paisley Park in June.

Sturgill Simpson Covers “Purple Rain”

Sturgill Simpson recently delivered one hell of a version of the iconic “Purple Rain” by the legendary Prince, and you know what? He nailed it.

I’m usually a bit suspicious of covers of such incredible songs like “Purple Rain”, but Sturgill’s Country spin on the classic gave it a whole new vibe, and I love it.

Check this out:

I was prepared to not love it, but here I am.

Also, kudos to Sturgill’s band, because they killed it.

Also, Sturgill looks uncannily like my husband, which is not a bad thing.
