Carrie Underwood and Motley Crue Performing “Home Sweet Home”

Last night was the Season 5087 (or something like that) finale of “American Idol”.

First off, Hannah Harper won it, as she should.

She was definitely my favorite from what I had seen of the show this past season.

During the finale last night, which was 3-hours long, there were loads of specials guests and performances.

The one I was curious to see was Carrie Underwood with Motley Crue, as they were to perform “Home Sweet Home” together.

I’ve been a Crue fan since I was a kiddo, but Carrie is who owned the stage last night:

Poor Vince Neil.

He tried.

I know he’s had health struggles lately, and kuods to him for giving it a go.
But Carrie.

Holy freaking moly.

Girlfriend can ROCK.

Then again, she did open up for Guns N’ Roses on tour a couple of years ago.

Now you see why.

Let’s get a Carrie Underwood rock album out, like, right now.

Also, do you think those chaps are regulation?

Might want to wear them to the next horse show.

I kid.

Motley Crue Featuring Dolly Parton “Home Sweet Home”

Motley Crue have teamed up with Dolly Parton for a new version of their 1985 classic “Home Sweet Home”, because, well, why not?

I mean it’s Dolly.

Dolly still has it, ya’ll!

The remake is to promote Motley Crue’s career-spanning compilation album “From the Beginning” which comes out September 12th.

Motley Crue “Fight For Your Right”

Motley Crue just released a new song with John 5 on guitar- and it’s a cover of the Beastie Boys classic “Fight For Your Right:.

I mean, it’s not the original, but it’s fun, high energy, and I have to say, I am really loving John 5’s guitar on this song. It really gives it one hell of a kick:

Not too shabby.

I bet it’s fun live, if Vince can handle the live vocals.

The cover is off of their upcoming EP “Cancelled” which comes out on October 3rd.

I’ve always been a Crue fan, and an 80’s Hair Metal fan as well, so I’m always happy to hear new stuff from them.

Honestly? I’m still shocked that they’re all still alive.

I mean, you read “The Dirt”, right?

Motley Crue “Dogs of War”

Motley Crue is moving on from Mick Mars with their first recording with new guitarist John 5 with their new release “Dogs of War”.

Now, I love me some Motley Crue. Especially the “Theater of Pain” and “Dr. Feelgood”  eras.

And I was kind of excited when I heard the opening guitar riff, thinking, “Oh, heck, this could be good”.  And then there was kind of a letdown aferwards.

I mean, it’s not horrble. But Vince Neil’s vocals are super distorted (probably because his singing isn’t up to par, and hasn’t been for years), and it reminds me of bands that were trying to hard to be “hard” in the late 90’s/early 2000’s.

At least, that’s the vibe I caught from it.

That being said, kudos to them for keeping the Crue Train rolling, and I’m looking forward to more new music from them. They just signed with Big Machine, so I have a feeling some good stuff could come from that.
