Lainey Wilson “Somewhere Over Laredo” Live at the American Music Awards

Well, Lainey Wilson done did it again.

She proved why she is the ACM Entertainer of the Year for the 2nd year in a row with her performance of her new song “Somewhere Over Laredo” at the American Music Awards last night, and in my humble opinion, it was one of the best performances on the show…

Now, that’s how it’s done. No lip synching, no back-up dancers or overtly sexual moves… (Sorry, J Lo… )

Just talent, a good song, and a stunning performance.

“Somewhere Over Laredo” is off of Lainey Wilson’s deluxe version of her latest album “Whirlwind” and will be out August 22nd.

Lainey Wilson “Somewhere Over Laredo”

Lainey Wilson just released a new song, and it’s probably one of my favorites of hers so far…

It’s called “Somewhere Over Laredo”, and it’s inspired by the “Wizard of Oz” classic “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, yet it takes on a whole new life of it’s own.

Enjoy:

So, it looks like this song will be off of Lainey’s deluxe version of her latest album “Whirlwind”, which comes out August 22nd.

I love it, and I have a feeling that Lainey is just getting started.

She may end up being one of the “Mount Rushmore” Country artists of the future.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all.

Reba McEntire, Lainey Wilson and Miranda Lambert “Trailblazer”

Did you watch the ACM Awards last night?

So many great performances, and this was easily my favorite… Reba McEntire, Lainey Wilson and Miranda Lambert on a song together?

Yes.

SO MUCH YES.

Check out their performance of “Trailblazer” below:

Aaaaah!!!! My heart is so happy just now.

Here’s the actual studio version:

Well done, ladies.

Reba was one of my favorites growing up, and Lainey and Miranda are some of my modern loves, so you know I’m all for this.

Thank you for blazing trails.

Now I’m gonna hop on my Palomino and go blaze some, too.

Lainey Wilson “Bell Bottoms Up”

Well, this made me all kinds of happy.

Lainey Wilson- one of my favorite artists right now- dropped a new Country banger called “Bell Bottoms Up”. It’s the theme song to her new bar in downtown Nashville by the same name, it’s as fun and Country as she is!

Aw, I love it! So much fun.

I’m so happy for Lainey Wilson and all of her wildfire success these past few years.

Girlfriend has earned it.

She’s on the road and doing all kinds of fun things in 2025.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Cody Johnson and Lainey Wilson “Mama Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys”

The Natonal Finals Rodeo just wrapped up in Las Vegas (it’s on my bucket list to go one day) and Cody Johnson was one of the featured performers, which makes sense, as he’s a legitimate cowboy. And he brought up a pretty legit cowgirl -fellow Country superstar Lainey Wilson- to perform the classic “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys”.

And, of course, it’s great:

Here’s another look:

@gypsycowboy1 C2C 2025 we need this duo lets make it happen guys @Lainey Wilson @Cody Johnson @C2CFestival #countymusic #fyp #gypsycowboy1 #laineywilson #codyjohnson #duo#c2c #london ♬ original sound – country music Uk

Cody has mentioned that he and Lainey want to remake Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn’s “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man”, but they haven’t gotten around to it just yet.

Yep- that needs to happen in 2025.

Get on it, you two!

I’m honestly just really happy about the direction that Country music is going these days- getting away from the “Bro Country” and moving to more of a traiditonal sound.

More of that in 2025, please!

Lainey Wilson Cowboys Half-Time Show Performance!

Yesterday, as per Thanksgiving tradition, the Dallas Cowboys had their annual Thanksgiving Day game- which they actually won against The Giants- and every year, they have a full-on halftime show.

Last year it was the iconic Dolly Parton, who took to the stage in a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader uniform.

Mind you, she’s 77, and still rocked it:

Ok, so back to yesterday’s performance…

Lainey Wilson was the esteemed halftime show performer, and she did a fantastic job. Sadly, she wasn’t rocking the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader uniform, but she looked and sounded great, and was obviously singing live, which is a bonus.

The NFL blocks people from sharing their Youtube videos (rude), but here’s what I found on social media:

And Lainey even brought out Jelly Roll as a surprise guest!

Also, have I mentioned before how much I love the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders?

I care zero about the team, but the cheerleaders are badass. I have seen every single episode of “Making the Team” and I’m not even a little ashamed.

In all, I thought it was a great performance, and Lainey represented Country Music well, as always!

Brooks and Dunn and Lainey Wilson “Play Something Country”

Well, this was just necessary.

Brooks and Dunn AND Lainey Wilson together?

All the YES right there.

Back in 2019, Brooks and Dunn released their “Reboot” album, where they re-imagined some of their greatest hits with some of Country’s biggest stars. Well, they have another similar project in the works called “Reboot 2”, featuring everyone from Lainey Wilson to Morgan Wallen to rock band Halestorm.

You’re excited right?

Because you should be.

And, to get us ready, Brooks and Dunn and Lainey Wilson just dropped their version of “Play Something Country”, and of course, it totally works:

Yep, that checks out, for sure.

Brooks and Dunn’s “Reboot 2” album will be out November 15th, and you can get more info at https://www.brooks-dunn.com/

Lainey Wilson Teases Title Track off Her New Album “Whirlwind”

Just a week and some change away from Lainey Wilson’s new album “Whirlwind”!

And, like most artists do these days, she’s teasing songs off of it on social media, like the title track, which sounds like it’s gonna be a banger:

I love the vibe of this song, and the strains of the 90’s Country sound in it.

Thank you, Baby Jesus, for Lainey Wilson.

Lainey Wilson Feat. Miranda Lambert “Good Horses”

Ahhhh!

I have been waiting for this since Lainey Wilson and Miranda Lambert performed it in Vegas back in December.

Earlier this morning, Lainey and Miranda dropped a new song called “Good Horses”, and it’s everything I had hoped for.

I mean, really, how can you go wrong with these two?

PERFECTIIOn.

“Good Horses” was written by Lainey Wilson and Miranda Lambert alongside songwriter Luke Dick.

Everything about it, I love. The lyrics, which as a horse woman and a woman who has been hapily married for seventeen years to a man who has never tried to fence me in, speak to me on so many levels. And yes, a good horse will always come home. It knows where the hay is. Being a military wife, and someone who always likes to do my own thing and have my own life as well, this song is both me and my husband. We will always make our way back home to each other, no matter what. No need to keep each other in a round pen.

Kudos to Lainey and Miranda, not for just a beautifully written song that is nothing like what is on Country radio just now, but also for the gorgeous vocals.

“Good Horses” will be on Lainey’s upcoming album “Whirlwind” which will be out August 23rd.

Lainey Wilson “Hang Tight Honey” Music Video

I didn’t think it was possible, but I love Lainey Wilson even more after this video!

Lainey released the music video for her latest hit “Hang Tight Honey” today, and it’s pretty dang cool.

I love the 60’s vibe that it starts out with, and her band being heaviy featured as well.

Check it out below:

Seriously, how fun is that?

Hang tight honey, Lainey isn’t going anywhere. I kind of feel like she’s just getting started.

Good.

Check out her new album “Whirlwind” which drops August 23rd, and she is all over the place this year on the road- hence the inspiration for the song- and you can get her dates at http://LaineyWilson.com
