Lainey Wilson- one of my favorite artists right now- dropped a new Country banger called “Bell Bottoms Up”. It’s the theme song to her new bar in downtown Nashville by the same name, it’s as fun and Country as she is!
Aw, I love it! So much fun.
I’m so happy for Lainey Wilson and all of her wildfire success these past few years.
Girlfriend has earned it.
She’s on the road and doing all kinds of fun things in 2025.
Country music is all about collabs lately, and I have a feeling the guys are going to LOVE (and totally relate to) this song.
Country/Rock artist HARDY has teamed up with fellow Country artist Nate Smith for a new banger called “Nobody Likes Your Girlfriend”, and both the song and video are hilarious.
Especially as we all know a guy with a girlfriend that no one likes, am I right?
So much yes right there… and I love that Kevin James is in the video as well.
As one of those girls who always had a bunch of guy friends, even I can relate to this song.
And guys, let me tell you, if no one likes your girlfriend, bail.
In my years of experience- I’m 42 now- it NEVER works out.
Could be my hot flashes… or maybe it’s just this music video for Country star Riley Green’s new single “Worst Way”.
All I can say is… DAMN.
Yeah, Riley Green doesn’t work out or anything.
Also, is anyone getting major Spencer Dutton vibes from him? (Hello, “1923”!)
Either way, Riley is easily the sexiest man in Country Music right now.
Fight me.
You can also catch him on the road this year- get the dates at http://Rileygreen.com
Really, my only complaint about this video is that he tossed the wine before showing up.
I have a feeling that 2025 is going to be Meghan Patrick’s year.
Now, Meghan, hailing from Ontario, has been on the scene for quite some time, and has been getting a lot of attention as of late for her gritty and real Country sound.
She released her album “Golden Child” back in October, and the title track has cracked the Mediabase Top 50, and I have a feeling you will be hearing a lot more of it on your radio soon.
Check out “Golden Child” below:
Pretty dang good, am I right?
Here are the full lyrics:
“If I could send a letter back in time To younger me in her wilder days A daydreamer with her head in the sky And always learning the hard way
I bet she’d think she knows better than me But that’s just part of her charm Nah, you couldn’t tell her anything Nothing stubborn as her and her heart But I’d tell her while you’re reaching for the stars
Just be careful what you wish for honey You never know it might come true Don’t be tempted by the easy money It might cost more than you’re willing to lose The same thing that takes the edge off It can take the shine off after a while So wear your diamonds on the inside ‘Cause everything that glitters ain’t golden, child
They’re gonna love you for the things you do But not for who you are So don’t go trading in your ride or dies For the cool kids down at the bar
The time will come when you fall in lust And it’ll look like love Until it knocks you right down in the dust But know that you’ll get back up Yeah, know that you’re more than enough
Just be careful what you wish for honey You never know it might come true Don’t be tempted by the easy money It might cost more than you’re willing to lose (ah) The same thing that takes the edge off It can take the shine off after a while So wear your diamonds on the inside (inside) ‘Cause everything that glitters ain’t golden, child, ooh-ooh
Just be careful what you wish for honey You never know it might come true Don’t be tempted by the easy money It might cost more than you’re willing to lose (ah) The same thing that takes the edge off It can take the shine off after a while So wear your diamonds on the inside (inside) ‘Cause everything that glitters ain’t golden, child Everything that glitters ain’t golden, child, ooh-ooh
If I could send a letter back in time To younger me in her wilder days I’d let her know that she’s doing just fine And everything’s gonna be okay”
Songwriters: Joey Hyde / Aaron James Eshuis / Meghan Sylvia Patrick
Seriously, though, such a great song, and I can definitely relate.
Heck, I think anyone who has lived just a litle bit of life can.
As I mentioned earlier, I have a strong feeling that 2025 is going to be her year… get ready!
Morgan Wallen just dropped a new single called “Smile”, and I think it may be one of my favorites of his.
Written by Morgan, Ernest, Rocky Block, John Byron, Ryan Vojtezak and Luis Witkiewitz, I have a feeling this will be another #1 hit.
Because, like it or not, that’s all Morgan Wallen seems capable of producing these days.
Damn.
What I like about this song- aside from the sound and subject matter- is that it really shows of what a good vocalist Morgan is, which can sometimes be hidden with other hits like “Last Night” and “I Had Some Help”.
This definitely bodes well for more solid stuff in 2025.
And now this will be in my head all day, which isn’ a bad thing.
As Morgan mentioned, it’s just a rough demo at this point, but it sounds like something you’ll be hearing on Country Radio nonstop in the next year, so get ready.
Morgan is currently working on his next project, and is heating up the charts right now with “Love Somebody”, and I’m thinking there’s no slowing down for Morgan anytime soon. Especially as those felony charges got dropped recently- that could have been a problem.
Hopefully, he slows down the partying, and just keeps on making good music.
2025 is likely to be another massive year for Morgan Wallen, and for Country Music in general, just like this year.
The 2024 CMA Awards were last night on ABC, and as always, there were a bunch of live performances. Some great, some meh, and a couple where I was like, “why are they here”? I won’t name names on the not-so-great performances, but I want to give props to who I thought really represented Country Music well.
Ashley McBryde honoring the late Kris Kristofferson with a gorgeous rendition of “Help Me Make it Through the Night”:
Perfection. Kris would be proud.
Kacey Musgraves delivered a gorgeous version of “The Architect”, which I feel is one of the best songs of the year. It didn’t pick up any CMA Awards, but it’s up for a bunch of Grammys, so I’m sure she’ll rack up there:
So pure and gorgeous. Country music is lucky to have Kacey, and really, the industry needs to show a bit more appreciation.
Chris and Morgane Stapleton “What Am I Gonna Do?”:
These two… POWER COUPLE. I want Morgane to release her own solo album and just blow everyone ou of the water.
You know she would.
As usual at The CMAs, there were a lot of great performances, but those were the ones where I was like, “damn.”
If you’re a girl dad, get those tissues ready. Don’t even pretend like it’s allergies…
Oh, my heart!
Shout out to Aby Gutierrez, Adam James, and Jonathan Stark for writing this, and for Cody Johnson nailing the vocal emotion on this song, which, I’m sure, every girl dad can appreciate.
I’m a boy mom, so I can’t really relate, but still, the emotion hits me in the feels, and I know that Cody has daughters, so I’m sure this is a special song for him to have out.
The song is off of the deluxe version of Cody Johnson’s latest album “Leather”, which came out this morning, and kudos to Cody for giving us a whole new album instead of just a few extra songs as most artists tend to do.
Morgan Wallen released one hell of a new song last Friday called “Love Somebody”, and I swear, it’s been in my head in heavy rotation this past week.
Well, Morgan just released an official live video of him performing “Love Somebody” at one of his shows at the famed Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN. He performed to over 150,000 fans over two days setting an attendance record, and it only made sense to release a live video, right?
Enjoy:
Morgan Wallen always brings it live, and there’s a reason why his recent “One Night at a Time” tour is now the biggest selling Country Music tour of all time.
OF ALL TIME.
Damn, son.
That’s no joke right there.
And…. he’s working on a new album, so stay tuned.
If “Love Somebody” is any indication, it’s gonna be another record-breaker.
