I didn’t get to see any of the Pre-Super Bowl shows or even the first half of the game last night, as my horse decided to colic and my husband and I had to take her to the Equine Hospital… so, yeah, that was pretty much my day yesterday.
Please pray for my girl. She’s still there.
Anyhow, when I got home, my parents- who are currently in town visiting- told me that Lady Gaga was incredible. So, this morning, because I literally couldn’t sleep, I looked up the video.
Just. Wow.
Lady Gaga performed her song from the “Top Gun: Maverick” soundtrack “Hold My Hand” to honor the victims of the recent New Orleans terror attack, and it was just incredible:
Flawless. Just absolutely flawless.
It’s also a song I myself needed to hear as I’m going through a rough spot right now.
It will all be ok, and I know it will.
Life, man.
But seriously, how great was that performance?
Lady Gaga drops her new album “Mayhem” on March 7th, and now I’m even more excited for it!
Cowboys beat the Bills… you know… back when the Cowboys won stuff.
I was at my parent’s friends’ house in Bolivar, TN. I was 11 years old, and the halftime show was Clint Black, Travis Tritt, Tanya Tucker, and The Judds.
What a time to be alive.
Behold, one of the greatest Super Bowl Half-Time Shows of all time:
THIS is what we need more of.
The past few half-time shows have been Rap/Hip-Hop, and no disrespect to that, but when was the last time we had a Country show?
Oh right, 1994.
Which makes zero sense, as Country Music is as big as it ever was.
At the very least, a Post Malone Half-Time show with all of his collaborators?
Morgan Wallen is spending his 2nd week on top of the Hot Country charts with his 16th #1 “Love Somebody”, and he just put out a live piano version of the song on his Instagram, and I feel like it’s even better than the original, which I also love:
I love how low-key the video is, and whatever you think about Morgan Wallen, you can’t deny that the dude is talented.
He is currently getting ready for his next album “I’m the Problem”, and although no release date has been set as of yet, I’m sure we’ll be hearing something soon, especially as he’s already announced the tour dates to support it.
Ok, maybe not in Aerosmith touring shape just yet, but he did sing a few songs at his “Janie’s Fund” Grammy Watch Party this past Sunday night, and it sounds like his voice is making a solid comeback.
He blew out his voice singing on Aerosmith’s “Peace Out” Farewell tour, and the tour had to be cancelled as the damage to Steven’s voice was so bad.
Sounds like he’s making a comeback, though!
Damn, I love me some Steven Tyler.
Easily one of the most recognizable voices in Rock.
Oh, and he performed with one of my favorite Country singers right now- Lainey Wilson- on the iconic “Dream On”.
Randy Travis has released a new song called “Horses in Heaven” with the help of AI (Randy had a stroke years ago), and it’s times like these that I am grateful for what AI can do.
Randy Travis is a lifelong horseman, and being a horse person myself, I love this song so much.
Give it a listen below:
Here are the full lyrics:
“Horses In Heaven”
There are horses in Heaven
It says it in the Bible
Right there in Revelation
Red and pale, and black and white
Elijah left this world
On a chariot of fire
When Jesus comes back, he might just borrow
The silver for the night
There are horses in Heaven
So I bet that God’s a cowboy
Heading off into the sunset
In a big white Stetson hat
Every time you hear the thunder
It’s just a posse full of angels
Riding those horses up in Heaven
Golden saddles on their backs
When the roll is called up yonder
And they put me out to pasture
I hope there’s a pretty palomino
Just beyond the gate
I’ll see my dad and Pawpaw
You know that they’ll be waiting
To pull a plug of Red Man
And take out across the plains
‘Cause there are horses in Heaven
Yeah, I bet that God’s a cowboy
Heading off into the sunset
In a big white Stetson hat
Every time you hear the thunder
It’s just a posse full of angels
Riding those horses up in Heaven
Golden saddles on their backs
We’re all gonna get there
In a big long Cadillac
Once you cross that river
You won’t wanna cross it back
‘Cause there are horses in Heaven
So you know that God loves cowboys
Heading off into the sunset
In a big white Stetson hat
And every time you hear the thunder
It’s just a posse full of angels
Riding those horses up in Heaven
Golden saddles on their backs
There are horses in Heaven
And thank the Lord for that”
Ahhhh! My heart!
I especially love the line about the Pretty Palomino, as my mare and heart horse is a Palomino.
Definitely one of my new favorite songs this year.
Again, I’m all for AI when it’s used for things like this!
Randy Travis is on the road this year with James Dupre, and you can get the dates here: http://RandyTravis.com
