Shaboozey “Good News”

Shaboozey is on FIRE right now.

His breakout hit “Tipsy” is spending it’s 17th week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, which is freaking HUGE. And while he is riding that impressive wave, he dropped a much more serious song called “Good News”, and it’s really, really good.

Here’s the lyrics:

“Man, what a hell of a year it’s been
Keep on bluffin’, but I just can’t win
Drop my songs, but they learn to swim
Man, what a hell of a year it’s been

Head on a battle, but my heart in a cage
Yeah, it’s gettin’ harder to act my age
Play a sad song on a tiny violin
For the man at the bar confessin’ his sins

I need some good news
Sittin’ here, sippin’ on cold truth
Nobody know what I’m goin’ through
But the devil wouldn’t walk in my shoes
Wish someone told me
Livin’ this life would be lonely
Tryna get away from the old me
Still stuck singin’ these blues
All I really need is a little good news

Love keeps knockin’, but I just stay home
I ain’t pickin’ no flowers from the seeds that I’ve sown
They say it gets darker when you’re coverin’ them doors
Still lookin’ for the right at the end of my wrongs
At the end of my wrongs

I need some good news
Sittin’ here, sippin’ on cold truth
Nobody know what I’m goin’ through
But the devil wouldn’t walk in my shoes
Wish someone told me
Livin’ this life would be lonely
Tryna get away from the old me
Still stuck singin’ these blues
All I really need is a little good news
Is a little good news

I need some good news
Sittin’ here, sippin’ on cold truth
Nobody know what I’m goin’ through
But the devil wouldn’t walk in my shoes
Wish someone told me
Livin’ this life would be lonely
Tryna get away from the old me
Still stuck singin’ these blues
All I really need is a little good news

Ooh, oh
Ooh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh

All I really need is a little
Something bring me back to the middle
All I really need is a little good news”

It has been another crazy year, and I think this will resonate with many.

This is Shaboozey’s first new release since his album “Where I’ve Been Isn’t Where I’m Going”, which means perhaps a new album is in the works?

Stay tuned!

Brooks and Dunn With Morgan Wallen “Neon Moon”

Brooks and Dunn released their “Reboot 2” album this morning, which is some of their biggest hits reimagined by today’s biggest Country stars.

One standout is their version of their classic “Neon Moon” with Morgan Wallen.

It’s a cool, modern take on one of my favorite Country songs of all time:

Lets be real- nothing can compare to the original. But it’s a pretty solid version.

Add Morgan Wallen to anyting these days, and you’ve got an automatic win.

However, THIS is my favorite version of the song, which features the incredible Kacey Musgraves:

That one never gets old.

The Brooks and Dunn “Reboot 2” album is out now, and here is the full track listing:
REBOOT 2 Track List:

Not too shabby.

Enjoy!

Dolly Parton/Eurythmics Mash-Up

It’s the day after the Presidential Election, and I’m not going to get politcal at all.  We have to much of it on social media, so I’m here to throw out some distractions, like the latest mash-up from one of my favorite content creators “There, I Ruined It”.

Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” mashed with Eurythmics “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This):

It works, right?

You’re welcome for this.

Cody Johnson “C’mon Cowgirl”

Happy New Music Friday!

My favorite release so far today?

The new Cody Johnson “C’mon Cowgirl”.

If you’re a girl dad, get those tissues ready. Don’t even pretend like it’s allergies…

Oh, my heart!

Shout out to Aby Gutierrez, Adam James, and Jonathan Stark for writing this, and for Cody Johnson nailing the vocal emotion on this song, which, I’m sure, every girl dad can appreciate.

I’m a boy mom, so I can’t really relate, but still, the emotion hits me in the feels, and I know that Cody has daughters, so I’m sure this is a special song for him to have out.

The song is off of the deluxe version of Cody Johnson’s latest album “Leather”, which came out this morning, and kudos to Cody for giving us a whole new album instead of just a few extra songs as most artists tend to do.

He’s clearly been busy.

More info on Cody’s music, tour dates, etc at https://apps.codyjohnsonmusic.com/leather/

Cody is definitely one of my favorite Country artists out there right now, and he’s in the trenches fighting to save Country Music.

I sure as heck do appreciate him!

Kelly Clarkson “Ain’t That Lonely Yet”

Dang. Kelly Clarkson can literally sing anything.

Her latest “Kellyoke” segment on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” features Kelly covering another one of my favorite artists Dwight Yoakam, with a gorgeous rendition of “Ain’t That Lonely Yet”:

Slay, Kelly, slayyyyy…

I love how she can take a song that is completely different than her own voice and style and make it sound like her own.

I could honestly see her releasing this as a single.

Maybe just a whole album of Country covers?

Again, universe, you heard me. Now make it happen!

You can catch the “Kelly Clarkson Show” weekdays on NBC.

Morgan Wallen “Love Somebody” Live at Neyland Stadium!

Morgan Wallen released one hell of a new song last Friday called “Love Somebody”, and I swear, it’s been in my head in heavy rotation this past week.

Well, Morgan just released an official live video of him performing “Love Somebody” at one of his shows at the famed Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN. He performed to over 150,000 fans over two days setting an attendance record, and it only made sense to release a live video, right?

Enjoy:

Morgan Wallen always brings it live, and there’s a reason why his recent “One Night at a Time” tour is now the biggest selling Country Music tour of all time.

OF ALL TIME.

Damn, son.

That’s no joke right there.

And…. he’s working on a new album, so stay tuned.

If “Love Somebody” is any indication, it’s gonna be another record-breaker.

Sorry, haters, Morgan is here to stay.

Koe Wetzel “Good Time”

Well, damn, we’re getting all kinds of great new music today!

First, Morgan Wallen with “Love Somebody” and now Koe Wetzel just released a new song called “Good Times”, which apparently is a bonus track after he released his album “9 Lives” this past Summer.

It’s 100% Koe Wetzel. I love it!

Koe Wetzel is a freaking party.

Hey, I was too, in my younger days. Not at the level that he’s at, but still, this song reminds me of living fast and being crazy, knowing that one day I would need to slow my roll and act like a proper human being, which thankfully, I started doing that at around 25.

Hey, I had fun, and thankfully survived, and now I know to never mix red wine and Jager again.

Eventually, the party has to end. Which is a good thing.

Sounds like Koe is starting to realize that just a little…

Jelly Roll and Kelly Clarkson “I Am Not Ok”

This is SO good!

Jelly Roll was on the “Kelly Clarkson Show” earlier today, and they performed his latest hit on Country Radio “I Am Not Ok” together with Kelly on the back-up vocals, and it just took it to a whole new level.

Seriously, though. Kelly just makes everything EVEN better.

Her voice is just on a whole different plane than most humans.

Also, Jelly Roll has a new album out featuring the song you just heard and 22 other songs. It’s called, “Beautifully Broken”, and came out last week.

I still have chill bumps from that performance, how about you?

Tim McGraw “People Like Us”

Tim McGraw just released a new song which I feel is very important to what most of America is going through today.

As a divided nation, this couldn’t have come at a better time, which I’m guessing is why he released it just now.

Check out “People Like Us”:

Look, I’m not going to get into politics… I just think if we be kinder to each other and try to understand where the other is coming from, we could make way more headway as a nation, regardless of how we vote.

We, once again, are more divided than ever as a nation, and it’s depressing.

I don’t stand with either party… I’m just sitting here, with my glass of wine, wondering how we got here, for the millionth time.

Did we not learn anything?

Clearly not.

Just a reminder that “together we stand, divided we fall”, and to not be a dillweed.

We are all humans, just trying to get by.

That being said, don’t be a jackwagon, ok?

Dwight Yoakam and Post Malone “I Don’t Know How to Say Goodbye” (Bang Bang Boom Boom)

I’ve been waiting on this for a minute…

Dwight Yoakam has teamed up with Post Malone for a collab called “I Don’t Know How to Say Goodbye”, and the official music video just dropped today, and it’s everything I hoped it would be!

I love that Malin Aikerman and Nina Dobrev are in the video, and I love even more that Post Malone and Dwight Yoakam are riding horses down Sunset Boulevard.

Is it just me, or is Post Malone’s equitation better than Dwight’s?

I’m a horse girl, so I notice these things.

The single is off of Dwight Yoakam’s upcoming album “Brighter Days” due out November 15th.

Look, if Dwight is into Post Malone, I think that settles the argument of whether or not Post Malone belongs in Country.

Argument over.
