Morgan Wallen just dropped a new single called “Smile”, and I think it may be one of my favorites of his.
Written by Morgan, Ernest, Rocky Block, John Byron, Ryan Vojtezak and Luis Witkiewitz, I have a feeling this will be another #1 hit.
Because, like it or not, that’s all Morgan Wallen seems capable of producing these days.
Damn.
What I like about this song- aside from the sound and subject matter- is that it really shows of what a good vocalist Morgan is, which can sometimes be hidden with other hits like “Last Night” and “I Had Some Help”.
This definitely bodes well for more solid stuff in 2025.
And now this will be in my head all day, which isn’ a bad thing.
As Morgan mentioned, it’s just a rough demo at this point, but it sounds like something you’ll be hearing on Country Radio nonstop in the next year, so get ready.
Morgan is currently working on his next project, and is heating up the charts right now with “Love Somebody”, and I’m thinking there’s no slowing down for Morgan anytime soon. Especially as those felony charges got dropped recently- that could have been a problem.
Hopefully, he slows down the partying, and just keeps on making good music.
2025 is likely to be another massive year for Morgan Wallen, and for Country Music in general, just like this year.
Brooks and Dunn released their “Reboot 2” album this morning, which is some of their biggest hits reimagined by today’s biggest Country stars.
One standout is their version of their classic “Neon Moon” with Morgan Wallen.
It’s a cool, modern take on one of my favorite Country songs of all time:
Lets be real- nothing can compare to the original. But it’s a pretty solid version.
Add Morgan Wallen to anyting these days, and you’ve got an automatic win.
However, THIS is my favorite version of the song, which features the incredible Kacey Musgraves:
That one never gets old.
The Brooks and Dunn “Reboot 2” album is out now, and here is the full track listing:

Morgan Wallen released one hell of a new song last Friday called “Love Somebody”, and I swear, it’s been in my head in heavy rotation this past week.
Well, Morgan just released an official live video of him performing “Love Somebody” at one of his shows at the famed Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN. He performed to over 150,000 fans over two days setting an attendance record, and it only made sense to release a live video, right?
Enjoy:
Morgan Wallen always brings it live, and there’s a reason why his recent “One Night at a Time” tour is now the biggest selling Country Music tour of all time.
OF ALL TIME.
Damn, son.
That’s no joke right there.
And…. he’s working on a new album, so stay tuned.
If “Love Somebody” is any indication, it’s gonna be another record-breaker.
How about new Morgan Wallen to kick off the Friday?
He’s been teasing a song called “Love Somebody” for months now, and it’s finally here, and like almost all of Morgan’s music, it does not disappoint:
Pretty dang good, right?
Morgan Wallen released a statement about the song, which will be off his upcoming 4th studio album: “Love Somebody’ is a little bit of a new approach lyrically and sonically. I wanted to try something different, with what I wanted to talk about, how I wanted it to sound, and we were inspired by Latin-leaning influences. I’m really excited about this song and pumped that it is out.”
Kudos to Morgan and his songwriting team. They clearly made another hit.
Again, Morgan is working on his 4th studio album… no release date or any other info on it at this time, but trust that it’s going to be another banger.
In the meantime, Morgan is on the road, selling out shows, and you can get more info, dates, etc at https://morganwallen.com/
That being said, Billboard just released their annual “Songs of the Summer” list, and here’s the Top 10:
. “I Had Some Help”, Post Malone and Morgan Wallen:
You know it’s catchy as all get out.
And this is the second Summer in a row that Morgan Wallen had the Billboard Song of the Summer. He was #1 last year, too, with his smash “Last Night”.
This makes him the first artist since 1978 to make that happen. Andy Gibb was the last artist to do it with “I Just Want to Be Your Everything” and “Shadow Dancing”.
Impressive, no?
2. “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”, Shaboozey:
Shaboozey could actually have the Song of the Year with “Tipsy”, as it just clocked it’s 8th week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Again, catchy as hell, and has been living rent-free in my head all Summer.
3. “Not Like Us”, Kendrick Lamar
Easily the Hip Hop song of the Summer. If I still went clubbing like I did two decades ago. I’d have been all about it.
It’s now on my workout playlist, because I’m old.
4. “Espresso”, Sabrina Carpenter
What a Summer Sabrina Carpenter has had. She has two songs on the Billboard Songs of the Summer chart, and now has the #1 album with “Short N’ Sweet” and I absolutely adore her and her sound.
5. “Million Dollar Baby”, Tommy Richman:
Call me crazy, but I’m thinking “One Hit Wonder” with this one. I mean, I may be wrong, but right now that’s how I’m feeling.
Still, super fun song, though.
6. “Please Please Please”, Sabrina Carpenter:
Again, Sabrina is killing it.
7. “Too Sweet”, Hozier:
I remember when Hozier had a hit with “Take Me to Church” years ago. But “Too Sweet” has become his first actual #1 this Summer.
8. “Lose Control”, Teddy Swims
Hot damn, Teddy Swims is amazing. He’ll be around for awhile, as he totally should be. Definitely on of my favorite newer artists on the scene.
9. “Birds of a Feather”, Billie Eilish:
This is definitely my favorite from Billie so far… it really shows off her voice, which is incredible. My only complaint is the lyrics… rot, casket… ew. I have an overactive imagination, and this triggers it. Overall, good song, though!
10. “Beautiful Things”, Benson Boone:
This may be my favorite song of the year, actually.
It reminds me of all the beautiful things in my life, and to not take them for granted.
Really loving Benson Boone as an artist, and can’t wait to see where he goes.
And that’s a wrap on the Billboard Songs of the Summer for 2024.
Morgan Wallen- in case you missed it- has gifted us with another teaser… this time for a song called “Good to See You Smile”, and I’m thinking it could be one of his best yet:
Morgan Wallen gave fans something to celebrate this Fourth of July weekend.
He just released a fan favorite called “Lies Lies Lies”, and if you haven’t heard it, it’s kind of a banger, like most of Morgan Wallen’s catalogue.
SUCH a good song, and I totally get why is super fans wanted him to release it.
It was originally a part of Morgan’s “Abbey Road Sessions” in London, and his fans have been begging for an actual studio recorded release, and he delivered.
The song is written by Jessie Jo Dillon, Josh Miller, Daniel Ross and Chris Tompkins, and if it goes to radio, I’m betting it’ll be another #1 for Morgan.
There is NO stopping this guy.
Unless, you know, he has another few scandals… but so did most of the greats in Country music.
Morgan Wallen is currently slaying it on his “One Night at a Time” staium tour, and you can get those dates at http://MorganWallen.com
His song with Morgan Wallen “I Had Some Help” is spending it’s 3rd week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and is quickly shaping up to be the song of the Summer.
So, how about a stripped down acoustic version of the song?
