Her latest “Kellyoke” segment on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” features Kelly covering another one of my favorite artists Dwight Yoakam, with a gorgeous rendition of “Ain’t That Lonely Yet”:
Slay, Kelly, slayyyyy…
I love how she can take a song that is completely different than her own voice and style and make it sound like her own.
I could honestly see her releasing this as a single.
Maybe just a whole album of Country covers?
Again, universe, you heard me. Now make it happen!
You can catch the “Kelly Clarkson Show” weekdays on NBC.
The “Kelly Clarkson Show” is back on NBC for the 6th season, and Miranda Lambert was one of the guests this morning, and Kelly and Miranda did an acoustic version of the Chappell Roan smash “Good Luck Babe”, and it totally killed:
Ok, can we get a full-on recorded version of that?
Their voices mesh so well, and it’s just a cool take on that song.
In case you have been on another planet this Summer, here’s the OG:
There’s no official music video for the song, which is annoying. BUT this live version on Jimmy Fallon from this past Summer is almost as good:
Yeah, pretty sure Chappell Roan isn’t going anywhere for a while.
Also, I can’t wait for more great covers from Kelly Clarkson this season!
I’m a HUGE Aerosmith fan, and I get a bit twitchy when someone attempts to properly cover anything sung by Steven Tyler. But Kelly Clarkson and that sick voice of hers just ripped out a version of Aersosmith’s 80’s Power Ballad “Angel”, and it’s something else:
Ummmmm… can she cut that as a single please?
What’s so impressive is that she’s singing all these covers on her show completely live.
No autotune, no gimmicks, just pure, raw talent from the OG American Idol winner.
Kudos Kelly!

Every weekday on her “Kelly Clarkson Show” talk show, she does a segment called “Kellyoke” where she covers another artist’s song, and turns them into her own.
This week, she did a cover of Miranda Lambert’s “Tin Man” – one of Miranda’s best in my opinon- and just completely owned it.
As per usual.
How gorgeous was that? “Tin Man” is one of those songs that no matter where you are at in life, when you hear it, it just stops you in your tracks and makes you want to cry. Truly masterful songwriting, and Kelly definitely did the vocals justice.
Here’s another fantastic cover Kelly did this week of one of Shania Twain’s biggest hits:
Just beautiful.
Can Kelly finally drop an actual Country album, please?
If Beyonce did it, then, hell, Kelly sure deserves to!
Also, I want her to cover Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters.”
Today is Kelly Clarkson’s 42nd Birthday, and she celebrated in a big way by having the iconic Rock duo Heart on her show today!
Holy Vocal-moly!
Is that a term? Well, it is now.
Kelly got to not only get some great stories from the rock and roll sisters, but also got to perform some of their biggest hits with them, which is you know Heart, you know Ann Wilson’s vocals are tough to cover.
But for Kelly Clarkson? Not a problem whatsoever.
Damn. That’s all I can say. I mean, how vocally spot on can you get?
Also, let’s be real. Ann sounds GREAT, especially considering that she’s in her seventies.
She covered Whitney Houston’s “All the Man That I Need” during her “Kellyoke” segment on “The Kelly Clarkson Show”, and of course, she freaking NAILED it.
Like to the floor and through it.
Covering Whitney is no joke, even for a season vocalist like Kelly. But she proved that there is literally nothing her incredible voice can’t do.
So, yesterday, on “The Kelly Clarkson Show”, Country legends Wynonna Judd and Trisha Yearwood performed The Judds classic “Cry Myself to Sleep” and it is absolue PERFECTION.
Wow, that completely exceeded my expectations. I mean, I knew it would be good, but that was next level.
I grew up a fan of The Judds and Trisha Yearwood, so this made my 90’s Country-loving heart happy.
If you haven’t checked out the “A Tribute to the Judds” album, you’re missing out on some seriously good stuff.
