Morgan Wallen and Miranda Lambert Performing “Cowgirls”

Well, this is cool…

Morgan Wallen is on his “I’m The Problem” stadium tour in support of his massive album by the same name (which is spending it’s 6th week on top of the charts) and this past weekend in Madison, Wisconsin, he brought tourmate Miranda Lambert onstage for a duet.

Now, Miranda co-wrote his #1 hit “Thought You Should Know”, and it would make sense that they would perform that song together, right?

Nope- fans got a surprise when they performed Morgan’s song “Cowgirls” which is a collab with ERNEST, but Miranda filled in perfectly.

Damn, why do I love that song so much?

And Miranda is one of my all-time favorites, so this was fun for me to watch.

Morgan’s “I’m the Problem” stadium tour has just started, and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be one of the biggest of the year.

Long Live Cowgirls!

Carrie Underwood Joins Papa Roach Onstage for “Last Resort”

Carrie Underwood is your All-American girl next year, just with an incredible set of pipes (and legs)! She usually stays in the Country and Gospel lane, but every now and again, Carrie puts on her rock girl panties and it’s always glorious.

She’s toured with Guns N’ Roses before (talk about legit, right?), and recently joined Papa Roach onstage for a version of “Last Resort”, and she owns it:

Dammit, woman, is there anything she can’t sing?

She also performed the single that she has out with Papa Roach called “Leave a Light On”, and all proceeds from this song go to suicide prevention:

If you weren’t aware of this song, here’s the actual recorded version:

Badass, and for a great cause.

Honestly, a Carrie Underwood rock covers album wouldn’t be a bad idea, am I right?

Let’s make this happen, ok?

Dua Lipa Performs AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell”

Damn.

Dua Lipa just earned some more of my respect.

I’ve always liked the pop star, who has a great, strong voice and catchy songs… but I didn’t realize how good her vocals actually are until just now.

She brought her “Radical Optimism” tour to Melbourne, Australia, and took a chance at covering the iconic Aussie band AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell” in concert, and it paid off I’d say:

Damn, Dua Lipa.

Yeah, I had no idea she had that in her. Mad respect!

Check out where she’ll be next at DuaLipa.com

She definitely went up a few notches for me with this performance. Well done!

Josh Turner Interview!

I had the pleasure of checking in with Country star Josh Turner today- he’s performing at Pueblo Memorial Hall tonight, and he called into the show for a little chat.

I TOLD you that his speaking voice is as sexy as his singing voice!

He’s on the road this year on his “This Country Music Thing” tour to promote his new album of the same name.

Chappell Roan “Pink Pony Club” Grammy Performance

The Grammy Awards were two weeks ago, but they’re just finally releasing full videos of the performances on YouTube.

Which, I get it. They wanted people who didn’t watch it live to stream it for a couple of weeks. I mean, it makes sense.

Anyhow, in case you missed it, Chappel Roan did one HELL of a performance of her massive hit “Pink Pony Club” and it’s pretty much the energy I want to give every day of my life.

I mean, WHATTTTT???

She performed it totally live and absolutely KILLED it.

And having a horse that is very similar to the props in this performance, I’m thinking I know what Angel and I are going as for Halloween.

What I loved most about this performance is the sheer joy that Chappel Roan brings to the stage. You can tell that she thrives there.

And her guitarist.

Hot Freaking Damn!

I absolutely love this song and performance, and I literally wake up with “Pink Pony Club” on loop in my head.

I’m not mad at it, though.

The Best CMA Award Performances 2024

The 2024 CMA Awards were last night on ABC, and as always, there were a bunch of live performances. Some great, some meh, and a couple where I was like, “why are they here”? I won’t name names on the not-so-great performances, but I want to give props to who I thought really represented Country Music well.

Ashley McBryde honoring the late Kris Kristofferson with a gorgeous rendition of “Help Me Make it Through the Night”:

Perfection. Kris would be proud.

Kacey Musgraves delivered a gorgeous version of “The Architect”, which I feel is one of the best songs of the year. It didn’t pick up any CMA Awards, but it’s up for a bunch of Grammys, so I’m sure she’ll rack up there:

So pure and gorgeous. Country music is lucky to have Kacey, and really, the industry needs to show a bit more appreciation.

Chris and Morgane Stapleton “What Am I Gonna Do?”:

These two… POWER COUPLE. I want Morgane to release her own solo album and just blow everyone ou of the water.

You know she would.

As usual at The CMAs, there were a lot of great performances, but those were the ones where I was like, “damn.”

What was your favorite performance of the night?

Chappell Roan Covers Heart’s “Barracuda” in Concert

Chappell Roan is everywhere this year, as she should be.

She burst onto the scene earlier this year with her smash hit “Good Luck, Babe” which is catchy as HELL, and now is heating up the charts with her new single “HOT TO GO”. I absolutely love her music, which is described as “Dark Pop” by some, and her talent is really impressive. If you go down the rabbit hole and check out videos of her before she became famous, trust me, you will be hella impressed.

In the meantime, prepare to be impressed by Chappell Roan’s recent cover of one of her favorite songs- the iconic Heart track from the late 70’s “Barracuda”:

Um, HELLO!

I love how Chappell Roan made it her own, and didn’t try to be exactly like the original. Which is hard for ANYONE to do, as Anne Wilson of Heart is next freaking level vocally.

And let’s talk about her band- some amazingly women are on this stage. I absolutely love seeing this!

Chappell Roan is just getting started… although she says she may quit eventually as fame isn’t really for her. (Can’t blame her there… being famous sounds fun for maybe five minutes, then it sounds horrific.)

That being said, you might want to catch her before she bails… she seems like she puts on one hell of a show.

Billy Joel and Axl Rose Perform at Madison Square Garden!

I’ll take TWO Legends at Madison Square Garden, please.

Last night, Billy Joel wrapped up his run of shows at Madison Square Garden, and celebrated his 150th show there by bringing out another Rock icon: Axl Rose of Guns N’ Roses!

They performed three songs together- a Billy Joel tune, and GNR tune, and a helluva cover of AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell”, because, why the hell not?

Behold:

“You May Be Right”:

“Live and Let Die”:

And… “Highway to Hell”:

Billy Joel on guitar, though. Hot damn!

How freaking cool would it have been to see that live?

Thank God for technology, so that we can experience it second-hand.

It’s better than nothing!

Lainey Wilson Joins The Rolling Stones Onstage in Chicago

Well, this made my Country and Rock loving heart happy.

Lainey Wilson opened up for The Rolling Stones in Chicago last night, and even got to join the band later on for a performance of “Dead Flowers”:

LOVEEEEEE!

Lainey just can’t miss, and can we give a shout out to The Rolling Stones for still kicking ass 60 years into their career?

The only thing that would have made it better would have been a performance of “Wild Horses”, one of my favorites from The Stones.

Oh, and my cousin Amanda was there last night… so, yeah, I’m major league jealous.

But, I’ll take what I can get!

Also, Lainey’s new album “Whirlwind” comes out August 23rd, and “Hang Tight Honey”, because her ride is just getting started.

Lainey Wilson and Miranda Lambert Slay the Stage in Nashville!

This weekend in Nashville, Lainey Wilson played a double-header at Ascend Amphitheater, and brought out Miranda Lambert for a couple of songs!

First off, they traded vocals on Miranda’s first big single “Kerosense”:

Well, hot damn!

And then they did their forthcoming duet “Good Horses”, which I absolutely CANNOT wait for the studio version:

Seriously, is there a better combo than Lainey and Miranda?

I’ll wait.

Both artists have new music coming out- Miranda is currently working on her new project with her new label Republic Records, and Lainey’s next album “Whirlwind” comes out August 23rd.

Hopefully “Good Horses” is on it!
