Boomtown Saints “All Trucks Go to Heaven”

Aaaaaahhhh! I am SO excited for these guys!!!!!

Boomtown Saints- Chris Ramos and Ben Chism- are the nicest ever, and their new single “All Trucks Go to Heaven” is taking off in Nashville. As it SHOULD!!! It’s perfect.

I’m so proud of these guys.

We also got to catch up this week- check the interview to find out more about Boomtown Saints!

I am so, so happy for Ben and Chris, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them.

Watch out, Nashville!!!

Kane and Katelyn Brown “Thank God”

I’m going to be completely honest- I was never a big Kane Brown fan.  Nothing against him- he has a great voice and story- but I never really clicked with his music until this song dropped this morning. “Thank God” fetaures his wife Katelyn’s vocals, and damnnnnn… she’s incredible. I knew she was a singer- but I didn’t realize that she was of that caliber. Seriously, give that woman a record deal!

I really love their voices together, and this is just a sweet song that I can see on the radio, and played at pretty much every wedding.

My family has a wedding venue in West Tennessee (Cogan’s Farm- look it up!) and I’m always on the lookout for great wedding songs, and this one makes the cut for sure.

Also, Kane Brown’s new album “Different Man” just dropped today. I’m really just wanting to hear more of his wife! Damn, girl!

Elton John and Britney Spears “Hold Me Closer”

Not gonna lie, I’ve been waiting on this since I heard that it was happening.  I LOVE Elton John, and I grew up loving Britney, so of course I had to get excited about a collab.  “Hold Me Closer” is a dance remix of Elton John’s iconic “Tiny Dancer” and I’m kind of digging it. Over-produced? Duh.  Over Auto-tuned? Absofreakinglutely. But will I sing along in the car? You freaking know it.

And that’s all that matters, right?

I think it’s awesome that Elton John doesn’t take himself too seriously, and that he is down with working with newer artists and just having fun with his classics (like he did last year with Dua Lipa and “Cold Heart”). He said he hopes this collab “helps Britney heal, and I think it’s great that someone who is an absolute legend like him is willing to help other artists, and just have fun with his music.

I know there will be some haters saying that Elton ruined his song.

Nah. It’s just a fun re-imagining of it.

Again, who cares? Enjoy the bop.

Zac Brown Band Feat. Cody Johnson “Wild Palomino”

I love the Zac Brown Band (aside from their experiemental album that we won’t name here) and Cody Johnson. So, when I heard they were re-releasing “Wild Palomino” with Cody, I was ALL for it.

The result? Fantastic, of course.

Also, I have a Palomino horse. You can put reins on her. But still…

Songs like this make my heart happy.

It’s also national “I Love Horses Day” so it’s even more perfect.

Callista Clark Interview

Callista Clark is one of the biggest new voices on the Country music scene! She went viral on YouTube at 13 with her cover of Creedence’s “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” and it’s been onward and upward ever since.  At eighteen, she already has a hit on her hands with “It’s Cause I Am”, and now she’s got a hot new single called “Gave It Back Broken” and all I can say is, girl can SING!

Check out the interview here:

Here’s her new single “Gave it Back Broken”:

AND for kicks… the viral YouTube Video that made her famous!

Amazing, right?

Yeah, expect to see this young woman a LOT in the future.

New Song of the Week: 4-15-22

Morgan Wallen, as promised, dropped his new sing;e “Don’t Think Jesus” earlier today, and of course, it’s a banger.

It obviously reflects his own life, recent events, public scorn and judgement… and it’s just one heck of a great Country song.

Guess what? We ALL screw up.  Most of us are just lucky enough to not have it in the public eye. I love how this song addresses that. It’s very human and relateable, which of course, it what Country music SHOULD be.

Definitely adding this one to the playlist.

New Carrie Underwood Is Here!

Carrie Underwood is back with new music today! It’s been a few years since she’s released a solo Country single, so I was curious to hear what she had for us this morning.

I was NOT disappointed.

I actually think this is one of my favorite of hers. Way better than that “Southbound” mess she put out a few years ago.  Carrie is a true vocalist, and I like her better on either ballads, or haunting songs like this.  The party/drinking songs…I just don’t buy it on her.

Anyhow, after hearing this new single, I’m excited to hear what else she’s got for us this year.

New Mammoth WVH!

The newest radio single by Mammoth WVH (Fronted by the son of the late, great Eddie Van Halen’s song Wolfgang) is one of my favorite new releases on Rock radio right now.  I was really hoping this would be his latest single, and that wish was granted.

“Epiphany” has all the stuff I like- great bass line and guitar riff, passionate vocals, and a power chorus.  I’m betting this will be #1 on the Active Rock charts by the Spring. Calling it now.

Thank you, Eddie Van Halen, for the music and for passing that talent onto your son!

Check Out This ERNEST/Morgan Wallen Collab!

I’m all for REAL Country music, and when this song hit my inbox, I immediately fell in love with it!  Up and Comer ERNEST has a true Country voice and style, and when you combine it with Morgan Wallen, you’ve got modern Country GOLD.

“Flower Shops” has one of my new favorite lines “Violets and Daisies to hide all the crazy”.  The song is already #1 on itunes, and I’m thinking it’s just starting it’s run as a chart topper.  I’m happy to kick off the new year with some real Country music… I hope this trend cotinues the rest of the year!  I can’t wait to hear more from both ERNEST and Morgan in the coming months.  As for Morgan, it looks like Country music has moved on from his controversy of last year, as his album “Dangerous” was the #1 album of 2021. NOT just in Country music, but across all the genres.  Say what you will about him, the guy has chops.

Plus, if you want some bad Country music behavior- go look up what George Jones and Randy Travis -two legends- got into in their day.  We just didn’t have the social media to blow things up.

Also, clearly, mullets are here to stay.
