Kelly Clarkson “Always Remember Us This Way”

Damn, Kelly…

Kelly Clarkson did it, again.

Taking an already perfect song and making it even more perfect with her “Kellyoke” segment on “The Kelly Clarkson” show.

The song is on the “A Star is Born” soundtrack, and is sung by Lady Gaga. I loved it as soon as I heard it in the theater, and had to add it to my playlist.

Well, Kelly covered it today, and that high note at the end… chillllssss….

Seriously, how gorgeous is that?

I didn’t think anyone could do it better than Gaga, but Kelly went and made it her own.

Can we PLEASE get a “Kellyoke: Greatest Hits” album?

Like, tomorrow?

Thanks.

The Best 80’s Music Videos EVER!

The 80’s… what a time to be alive.

One of the best parts of the decade- aside from the music and fashion- is the fact that MTV was actually showing music videos non-stop, and it was absolutely glorious.

As a kid, and then as a teen, I would spend hours taking in the magic of the art that is the music video. I was tranfixed, really. To this day, I still love watching them, and ca, thanks to YouTube.

One of my favorite websites, ultimatelassicrock.com, compiled a list of the 30 best music videos of the decade… see if you agree!

#10: Duran Duran “Hungry Like the Wolf”:

#9: Prince “When Does Cry”:

#8: Cyndi Lauper “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”:

#7: Dire Straits “Money for Nothing”:

#6: Van Halen “Jump”!

#5: ZZ Top “Sharp Dressed Man”:

#4: Tom Petty “Don’t Come Around Here No More”:

#3: Talking Heads “Once in a Lifetime”:

Honestly… I feel like a lot are missing from the Top 30, but I don’t make the rules…

What are your favorite music videos of the 80’s?

Here’s one of mine:

“We Are the World” was my introduction to music when I was 3. It all started there…

Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga Live in Vegas!

I am floored.

I mean, I already know that Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga are some of the best talents in the business, but this recent live performance in Las Vegas of their hit duet “Die With a Smile” is just wow.

Like really, really, wow.

It is so rare for artists to sound as good or better than they do on a recording, but Bruno and Gaga just proved why they are still relevant and some of the absolute BEST out there.

Bruno is currently at the Dolby Live in Las Vegas, where he is in residency.

Also, I think we need a collaborative album with these two, don’t you think?

Oh, and just for comparison, here is the recorded version:

Again, WOW.

Postmodern Jukebox “Good Luck Babe”

I’m just a little obsessed with Postmodern Jukebox and the amazing covers and reimagining of popular songs in a vintage style.

Their latest offering?

A take on the wildly popular Pop song “Good Luck, Babe” by one of this year’s breakout stars Chappell Roan in the style of the late Lesley Gore.

It’s prety dang fantastic, and Tatum Langley KILLS it on the vocals.

Enjoy:

LOOOOOVVEEEE!

Seriously, everyone in this group is insanely talented, and I’m gonna jump down the rabbit hole once again instead of doing things I actually should be doing, like dishes.

Kelly Clarkson “Ain’t That Lonely Yet”

Dang. Kelly Clarkson can literally sing anything.

Her latest “Kellyoke” segment on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” features Kelly covering another one of my favorite artists Dwight Yoakam, with a gorgeous rendition of “Ain’t That Lonely Yet”:

Slay, Kelly, slayyyyy…

I love how she can take a song that is completely different than her own voice and style and make it sound like her own.

I could honestly see her releasing this as a single.

Maybe just a whole album of Country covers?

Again, universe, you heard me. Now make it happen!

You can catch the “Kelly Clarkson Show” weekdays on NBC.

Lady Gaga “Disease”

Lady Gaga announced earlier this week that she had more new music coming, and she made good on that promise this morning by dropping the Rock tinged track “Disease”, and, of course, it’s pretty damn good.

I mean, it’s Gaga after all.

I love the rock edge, and I’m feeling Nine Inch Nails “Closer” vibes as well as a tinge of her song “Bloody Mary” in there.

I’m definitely not disappointed, and it’s already taking up rent-free space in my head.

The song is most likely off of Lady Gaga’s upcoming 7th studio album, which we know she has been working on.

This song defnitely bodes well fr the rest of the album. I’m hoping for more Rock Gaga in he future.

You hear that universe? Make it happen.

Koe Wetzel “Good Time”

Well, damn, we’re getting all kinds of great new music today!

First, Morgan Wallen with “Love Somebody” and now Koe Wetzel just released a new song called “Good Times”, which apparently is a bonus track after he released his album “9 Lives” this past Summer.

It’s 100% Koe Wetzel. I love it!

Koe Wetzel is a freaking party.

Hey, I was too, in my younger days. Not at the level that he’s at, but still, this song reminds me of living fast and being crazy, knowing that one day I would need to slow my roll and act like a proper human being, which thankfully, I started doing that at around 25.

Hey, I had fun, and thankfully survived, and now I know to never mix red wine and Jager again.

Eventually, the party has to end. Which is a good thing.

Sounds like Koe is starting to realize that just a little…

Morgan Wallen “Love Somebody”

How about new Morgan Wallen to kick off the Friday?

He’s been teasing a song called “Love Somebody” for months now, and it’s finally here, and like almost all of Morgan’s music, it does not disappoint:

Pretty dang good, right?

Morgan Wallen released a statement about the song, which will be off his upcoming 4th studio album:  “Love Somebody’ is a little bit of a new approach lyrically and sonically. I wanted to try something different, with what I wanted to talk about, how I wanted it to sound, and we were inspired by Latin-leaning influences. I’m really excited about this song and pumped that it is out.”
Kudos to Morgan and his songwriting team. They clearly made another hit.

Again, Morgan is working on his 4th studio album… no release date or any other info on it at this time, but trust that it’s going to be another banger.

In the meantime, Morgan is on the road, selling out shows, and you can get more info, dates, etc at https://morganwallen.com/

Jelly Roll and Kelly Clarkson “I Am Not Ok”

This is SO good!

Jelly Roll was on the “Kelly Clarkson Show” earlier today, and they performed his latest hit on Country Radio “I Am Not Ok” together with Kelly on the back-up vocals, and it just took it to a whole new level.

Seriously, though. Kelly just makes everything EVEN better.

Her voice is just on a whole different plane than most humans.

Also, Jelly Roll has a new album out featuring the song you just heard and 22 other songs. It’s called, “Beautifully Broken”, and came out last week.

More info on Jelly Roll, new music, tour dates, etc at http://jellyroll615.com

I still have chill bumps from that performance, how about you?

Stevie Nicks on SNL!

In case you missed it, Stevie Nicks took to the stage on “Saturday Night Live” tp perform one of her solo classics “Edge of Seventeen”, and yep, the icon still has it!

Remember, she’s 76:

Dang. Go Stevie!

I love seeing all these classic rockers doing their thing well into their seventies and eighties.

I know there are some who like to think that artists should retire at a certain age, but I am not one of them. Do your thing as long as you want!

Rock and Roll knows no age.
