Stevie Nicks on SNL!

In case you missed it, Stevie Nicks took to the stage on “Saturday Night Live” tp perform one of her solo classics “Edge of Seventeen”, and yep, the icon still has it!

Remember, she’s 76:

Dang. Go Stevie!

I love seeing all these classic rockers doing their thing well into their seventies and eighties.

I know there are some who like to think that artists should retire at a certain age, but I am not one of them. Do your thing as long as you want!

Rock and Roll knows no age.

Jelly Roll on “Saturday Night Live”!

Last night was the kickoff of the 50th Season of “Saturday Night Live” and Jelly Roll was the musical guest.

Dude is EVERYWHERE these days, and he is owning pretty much every performance.

Last night was no different, as he rocked his latest release to Rock radio “Liar” and a new song called “Winning Streak”:

Solid work.

Jelly Roll’s new album “Beautifully Broken” comes out October 11th, and you can get his tour dates at http://JellyRoll615.com

Kacey Musgraves on”Saturday Night Live”

Last night, Kacey Musgraves was the Musical Guest on “Saturday Night Live” ahead the release of her new album “Deeper Well”, and of course, she owned it:

Here’s her performance of the title track “Deeper Well”:

And her latest single “Too Good to Be True”:

Kacey is always simplistic perfection with her music and her live performances. There’s something almost hypnotic about her voice, and her overall aura. I’ve never understood why she never got as much airplay as say… Carrie Underwood or Kelsea Ballerini in Country radio. I’ve always advocated for her, and I remember playing the fire out of “Merry Go Round”, “Follow Your Arrow” and “Blowin’ Smoke”, but for some reason they never hit the top of the charts.  Not that it matters… Kacey has proven that she doesn’t need twenty number one hits to be a staple.  I mean, Florida-Georgia Line had a ton of #1 songs, and let’s be real, they’re weren’t a patch on Kacey’s artistry and talent.  Kacey has stood her ground, and has the career longevity (and Grammys!) to prove it.

I’m excited for her next chapter, in which she returns to her Country roots. Her album “Deeper Well” drops March 15th.

She also announced her “Deeper Well” world our, and those dates are up at http://kaceymusgraves.com

And just for a throwback, here’s where a lot of Country fans discovered Kacey’s pure vocals:

Also, Granger Smith and his wife Amber play the couple in the video, and I am getting all the feels from that.

13 years ago. Whattttt?

Olivia Rodrigo “Vampire” Live on SNL

I’ve really been enjoying Olivia Rodrigo as of late, and her song “Vampire” is one of my favorites of 2023. So, naturally, I was pretty jazzed to check out her performaces on “Saturday Night Live” last night.

All I can say is, Oh. My. God.

So simple and perfect. You really get to see what a great artist and talent she is. She’s like a dark, edgier Taylor Swift. And she has some serious vocal chops, musical talent, and songwriting abilities. I know there’s some who hate on modern music, but artists like Olivia have to prove them wrong.

I can’t wait to see where she goes!

The Mudpuddles “Lake Beach”

In case you missed it… on “Saturday Night Live”, there was a skit with comedian Nate Bargatze and SNL cast members making fun of Country Music with a song called “Lakebeach” sung by a band called “The MudPuddles”.

I snorted coffee up my nose I laughed so damn hard, and I may now have to go to the ER.

This is freaking GOLD.

Anyone who grew up in the Country knows about the damn Lake Beach.

For me, it was Piney Lake in West Tennessee.

Don’t knock the damn Lake Beach until you’ve tried it, ok?

Also, how awesome is Dave Grohl in the sketch?

Seriously, I had to watch this seven times already, and it’s so perfect and hilarious. Only because it’s 1,000% true.

God Bless Lake Beaches and Country Music!

The Foo Fighters on SNL

Last night, one of my favorite bands ever in existence- The Foo Fighters- took the stage as the musical guests on “Saturday Night Live”.

As per usual, they freaking slayed it.

I LOVE that they were joined by H.E.R. for this song. She’s incredible.

Also, mad props to Christopher Walken for introducing them properly this time. Anyone remember this from 20 years ago?

Memory Lane, man.

I’m honestly just happy to see the Foos keeping it going so string after the devastating loss of Taylor Hawkins.  I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to take the stage each time without him.

Way to keep on keeping on.

I know they have a big 2024 ahead, and I’m just excited to see what they do next.
