Luke Combs “Joe”

Luke Combs is on FIRE!

Yes, I know I share a lot of his music, but there’s good reason for that.

He’s got a new album coming out on March 24th called “Gettin’ Old” and he keeps releasing fan favorites that will be on the album. And he does NOT disappoint.  His new single “Joe” deals with addiction and overcoming substance abuse, and the daily struggle that so many people can relate to.

True Country Music right here.

It’s such a well-written song on a topic that so many deal with on a daily basis.  Luke has admitted that Country music is full of drinking and partying songs, but there are not many songs out there for those who are on the other end of the spectrum.  I think it’s great that Luke is shining a light on such a difficult topic, and in a genre full of “Let’s get drunk in my truck” songs, it’s good to hear another side of the story.

Luke is quickly becoming one of the most respected artists in Modern Country, and it’s not hard to see why.

I can’t wait for his new album! Again, March 24th is when you can check it out.

William Clark Green Interview

If you’re into Texas and Red Dirt Country, (If not, you totally should be!) you’ve heard of William Clark Green.  He’s a fantastic artist and songwriter, and really, one hell of a nice guy. It’s always a pleasure to catch up with him, and find out what’s going on in his world.

Here’s his latest single currently charting on Texas Country Radio- “Anymore”:

I encourage you to check out his entire catalogue, and be on the lookout for more WCG in the future!

And just in case you haven’t heard this gem from him…it’s one of my favorites!

Dolly Parton and Olivia Newton-John “Jolene”

When I heard that Dolly Parton had recorded a duet with Olivia Newton-John covering her iconic “Jolene”, I immediately had to look it up and take a listen.

Ommggggg… weekend = MADE!

This duet is a part of Dolly’s upcoming Rock album which will featured collabs with everyone from Stevie Nicks to Steven Tyler to Steve Perry.

Needless to say, I’m just a little bit excited for it.

Once again, DOLLY FOR PRESIDENT!

Pink and Chris Stapleton “Just Say I’m Sorry”

Pink just dropped her new album “Trustfall” today, and I’ve been waiting for this collab since I was made aware of it a few weeks ago.  Pink has teamed up once again with Chris Stapleton for a song called “Just Say I’m Sorry”, and damn… their voices just go so well together.

It’s such a simple, pretty song with a great message.  So often in relationships we feel like being right is more important than anything, and for some reason, apologizing and realizing our mistakes and the effect they have on others is really, really hard.

That being said, being able to overcome that and genuinely apologize and fix whats wrong has been what has kept my marriage of almost 16 years going smoothly. We can both apologize, and that’s so incredibly important.

Anyhow, back to the song, if you put Chris Stapleton on anything, it will be amazing.  It’s just a scientific fact at this point.

I have also heard that he and Miranda Lambert and George Strait are planning collabs as well.  The sonic universe is looking out for us!

Kelly Clarkson Covering Hank Jr’s “Family Tradition”

Kelly Clarkson is easily one of the best vocalists of our time, something she continues to prove on the daily with her “Kellyoke” segments on her show “The Kelly Clarkson Show”.

One of her latest cover song triumphs? Her version of Hank Williams Jr’s classic tune “Family Tradition”:

Dudeeee, she gave that song a whole new life!

I remember it being a karaoke staple when I was in my bar-hopping phase, but I have never heard it like this.

Can she just full-on crossover to Country now? I wouldn’t be mad at it.

Megan Moroney “I’m Not Pretty”

Megan Moroney got a lot of attention in the Country Music community recently with her song “Tennessee Orange”, which, let’s be honest, it’s perfect.  Anyone who is a college football fan can releate.  Well, she’s not wasting any time putting out new music (good!) and her new single “I’m Not Pretty” is catchy as hell.

How cute (and true!) is this?  It’s got a really fun and catchy sound, and in the age of social media, you know you have stalked your significant other’s ex or have been stalked yourself.  It’s a factual reflection on today’s society, and how catty women can be. You KNOW it’s true.

I think Megan might be here to stay.

Plus, we share a name and she spells it right, so bonus points to her!

Luke Combs “Love You Anyway” (Acoustic)

Let’s just be real here: Luke Combs is one of the best people to happen to Country Music.  He’s releasing a new song tomorrow called “Love You Anyway” (a fan favorite) and he just put out the acoustic version, and I’m calling it right now… this is going to be THE love song of 2023.

I’m going to go ahead and say that this is one of my favorites of his. So beautifully written, and I’m loving all the imagery in the song.  Well done, Luke!  This will be on his upcoming album “Gettin’ Old” which comes out on March 24th.

Get ready, you’ll be hearing this one at all the weddings.

I’m The Worst Parent EVER

Anyone who knows me knows that I love to take pictures and videos of my adorable family.  And for some reason, a lot of the videos end up on National sites like “Good Morning America”, “People”, and others.  I’m not sure why that is, but I’m not complaining. I’m very proud of my baby and animals, and am happy that other people seem to enjoy their antics.

Well, over the holidays, I was visiting my family in Tennessee, and I was having coffee on the couch with my “Cash” while my then 14-month old son Brandon was rolling around in his Joovy Walker.  He was rolling it into the couch trying to get Cash’s attention, and Cash was totally ignoring him. I started filming it on my phone to send to my husband, who was out hunting at the time.  During the time I was filming, Brandon tugged on Cash’s tail a little bit, and Cash’s reaction – to me at least- was hilarious.  So, I posted it on TikTok, and it went viral.  And then it was posted on “Good Morning America” this past weekend, and the comments are INSANE.

Check out the video link below.

Ok, so I do feel the need to defend myself here.

#1: My dog has never shown a thread of viciousness, or else I would never, EVER let him near Brandon. Ever.

#2: They are NEVER together unsupervised.

#3: Um… that wasn’t exactly a tail pull. Come on, people.

#4: ANIMAL ABUSE??? Are you freaking kidding me?

#5: This was the ONLY time Brandon tugged on his tail.  You would think the way people are acting that he was doing this on the regular.

I’ve been online since the dawn of social media. I have seen plenty of things I don’t like or agree with, but for some reason, I never feel triggered to comment.  I guess I have a life, and I don’t have a terrible soul that gets off on putting other people down on a public forum. Thats not a bad thing.

I feel like when people act like that, it says way more about them than it does me.  And yes, I know I do ask for it, being that I am in a public business and post videos that may go viral, but still… I feel like in this case I should be able to throw an explanation in there, as the entire population of Karens seem to be coming at me.

More than anything, I just want to remind people that there is ALWAYS  a backstory, and so please think about that before you slam someone online.

And if you do feel the need to be that way, please learn to spell and punctuate correctly, or your comment will be deemed invalid.

Be nice, people!

It’s not that hard.
