Zac Brown Band Feat. Mac McAnally “Pirates and Parrots”

Last Fall, we lost the icon Jimmy Buffett, and since then, there have been so many fantastic tributes to the legend.

His music has touched so many lives over the decade, and his legacy will always go on.

The latest tribute that has me all in my feels is The Zac Brown Band’s “Pirates and Parrots” with Jimmy Buffett Coral Reefer bandmate and collaborator Mac McAnally:

Ok, I may have a little tear on my eye after that…

The Zac Brown Band have a busy year wih their joint tour with Kenny Chesney,

Bubbles up, ya’ll!

The Beach Boys Sing “99 Problems” by Jay-Z

Well, the YouTube creator “There, I Ruined It” went and done it again…

I mean, who the heck would combine The Beach Boys and Jay-Z?

But somehow it works, and I can’t get this out of my head.

Behold: The Beach Boys covering Jay-Z’s “99 Problems”… thanks to AI, of course:

I had to watch this 5 times in a row, and I’m still not over it. I will now be singing this all damn night.

Thank you to one of my followers Tony L Page Jr. for alerting me to this!!!!

Taylor Swift “Fortnight” Video Feat. Post Malone

Taylor Swift is setting the world on fire once again with her new album “The Tortured Poets Department”, and she just released the video for the lead sing;e “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone, and it’s really freaking cool:

I think this may be one of my favorite videos of hers.

Seriously, this song is growng on me. At first I was like, “mehhhh”, but the more I hear it, the more the beat and the haunting vocals stick. And I really love Post Malone’s vocal contributions on the song, and honestly, I kind of dig him without the face tattoos.

Well done on the both of them with this song and video.

HARDY “Gin and Juice”

I gotta say, I did NOT have this on my 2024 bingo card…

Country/Rock star HARDY did a version of the Hip-Hop classic “Gin and Juice” with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s blessing.

So, basically, “Gin and Juice” for rednecks.

Gotta love the line “Gon’ slug some does”… but being married to a hunter, I mean, it checks out.

Doe meat is the best meat.

It’s all a part of the rollout for the Gin and Juice in a can that Snoop and Dre have coming out.

Hey, they got my attention.

Taylor Swift “The Alchemy”

Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated new album “The Tortured Poets Department” is here, and Swifties are losing their damn minds.

First of all, it’s a surprise double album, as Taylor dropped an extra 15 songs at 2am, which is cool.

And naturally, there’s a song about curren beau Kansas City Tight End Travis Kelce on there (duh) called “The Alchemy”:

“Where’s the trophy? He just came running to me.”

Well done, Tay Tay.

Also, the lead single off of the album is “Fortnite” featuring Post Malone:

So, yeah, you’ll be hearing that ALL over the radio.

Now, I’m not what you would call a “Swiftie”, but I do respect and admire Taylor and what she has done in her career.  A lot of her music isn’t my cup of tea, but she does have some great songs that will forever have a spot on my permanent playlist (hello, “Wildest Dreams”!). I think Taylor is an incredibly impressive woman, and definitely a great role model.

So, play on Taylor, and keep kicking ass and taking names.

And bringing home them trophies!

Chris Stapleton “Wings It and Sings It” on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Chris Stapleton can sing anything, and he proved it on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” during a segment called “Wing It and Sing It” where he had to perform a song sight unseen until the lyrics were presented to him.

The result?

Absolutely Hilarious!

I really think Chris needs to cut that as his next single.

I laughed way to damn hard at this!

Again, thank you, Baby Jesus, for Chris Stapleton.

Jelly Roll Debuts New Song at Grand Ole Opry

Jelly Roll is EVERYWHERE these days. On your radio, on your tv, and he’s basically taking over with his Country/Rock vibe and big (no pun intended) personality and amazing backstory.

He’s one of the few artists that gets regular airplay on Country, Rock, Top 40, and Adult Contemporary radio.

That in itself is a huge deal.

Well, last night, at The Grand Ole Opry, he debuted a new, unreleased song to see how it went over, and I have a feeling it’ll be on his next project.

Check out “Liar” below:

According to the fans’ reaction, it definitely has big hit potential.

Here’s a longer video if you want to full version courtesy of Whiskyriff.com: https://www.whiskeyriff.com/2024/04/16/jelly-roll-debuts-new-unreleased-song-liar-at-the-grand-ole-opry/
Jelly is on a roll (Yes, bad dad joke) and shows no signs of stopping.

“Creep” Goes Country!

Country singer ERNEST released a pretty solid album last Friday called “Nashville, TN”, and it’s got several big collabs on there, including ones with Lainey Wilson, Morgan Wallen, and this interesting cover with HARDY.

They were brave enough to cover the Radiohead Classic “Creep”- check it out below:

Hmmmm… I’m kind of on the fence with this one. I absolutely LOVE the original version, and it’s kind of hard to beat that. But hey, solid effort for sure.

Honestly, my favorite cover of “Creep” will always be Post Modern Jukebox’s version featuring “Amercian Idol” finalist Hailey Reinhart:

Damnnnn… never gets old.

I mean, how sexy is that? Her voice is absoutely out of this world.

What do you think of ERNEST and HARDY’s version?

No Doubt Reunites at Coachella!

Coachella was this past weekend… you know, the music festival that only the cool kids get to go to, and try to act like they’re cooler than anyone else. So, naturally, I wasn’t there.

FOMO?

Maybe.

But Coachella always has some great performances, and I was pleasantly surprised to see how well No Doubt did.

I was obsessed with this band growing up, and basically just wanted to be Gwen Stefani. I even sang “Just a Girl” for my High School Talent Show my Freshman year and got suspended for wearing a crop top.

No Doubt reunited for the first time in 9 years this past weekend for their Coachella performance, and they brough it.

“Just a Girl”

“Don’t Speak”:

And “Bathwater” with surprise guest Olivia Rodrigo!

Ok, Gwen looks and sounds great, as does the band.  I remember them not always having the best live performances, so this was awesome to see.

Will there be more No Doubt in the future?

Right now, no other performances are planned, but hopefully after their successful Coachella set, that will change.

Fingers crossed!

Carrie Underwood Pays Tribute to Toby Keith With “Should Have Been a Cowboy”

Carrie Underwood is always pretty much flawless.

She continued her long streak of stellar vocal performances last night at The Grand Ole Opry with a tribute to the late, great Toby Keith with a pitch-perfect rendition of “Should Have Been a Cowboy”:

I love how Carrie can be pure Country one minute, Gospel the next, and then rip a Guns N’ Roses song to shreds.

Also, her legs are basically National Treasures.

I’m pretty sure Toby Keith would be proud!

Let’s be real, it’s a world better than Brooks and Dunn’s tribute at the CMT Awards last weekend:

Now, I LOVE me some B&D, but something was definitely off there. Sammy Hagar honestly had the best tribute that night, and he’s not even a little bit Country.

Hey, we all have our bad nights, right?

But yeah, Carrie Underwood, though.

Kind of rude that she gets that voice AND those legs, though.

I kid.

Mostly.
