Shenendoah “Sunday in the South” Remake With Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean

A couple of months ago, Shenandoah teamed up with Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean for an updated version of their classic #1 1989 hit “Sunday in the South”, and they just released the music video for the song, and it’s a solid recreation of the original- both the song and video:

Being a 90’s Country fan, I appreciated the heck out of that.

Also, I prefer Luke Bryan singing songs like this, instead of songs about beer and shaking your butt for a catfish, but that’s just me.

The video was filmed in Liepers Fork, TN, which is my home state, and reminds me of my hometown of Hnederson, TN, and I tell you, I could really go for some Bells Drive-n right know.

If ya know ya know.

Shenandoah is thankfully still going strong, and still on the road.

Nate Smith and Avril Lavigne “Can You Die From a Broken Heart”

Well, this was an unexpected treat.

Country star Nate Smith has teamed up with Punk/Pop superstar Avril Lavigne for one hell of a duet called “Can You Die From a Broken Heart”.

It’s freaking fantastic.

No, really, both have incredible voices that soar over over the notes, and the melody of the song is beautiful.

Yep, I love it!

I knew something was brewing when the two were seen together in Nashville last year.  I was hoping for a collab, and here we are!

Also, Avril’s voice is still badass.

“Can You Die From a Broken Heart” is off of Nate Smith’s new album “California Gold” out Friday.

Conway Fiddy “In Da Club”

You know what makes everything better?

Conway Fiddy.

For those who don’t get the joke, I’m sorry.

Just google it, because I’m too lazy this morning to explain it.

Anyhow, one of my favorite content creators “There I Ruined It” has released this glorious gem:

Sure to be  a classic.

I mean, let’s be real, Conway Twitty would have been all OVER this if he were still here. He does have some real panty droppers in his catalog, so I feel that he would approve.

You’re welcome!

Papa Roach and Carrie Underwood “Leave a Light On”

Papa Roach has teamed up with Carrie Underwood for a stellar version of Papa Roach’s hit song “Leave a Light On (Take Away the Dark)”  to benefit organizations that support suicide prevention, such as  American Foundation for Suicide Prevention which will recieve royalties from the song, as well as 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline to raise awareness for the cause.

As I’m sure you’re aware, suicide remains a serious issue in our society, and so many families are affected. As a military wife, I am all too aware of the high suicide rate among veterans. According to the VA, 22 Veterans take their life a day.

A day.

A number I still and will never be able to wrap my mind around.

Kudos to Papa Roach and Carrie Underwood for bringing awareness to such an important cause.

Check out their verison of “Leave a Ligh On” below:

So powerful. And Jacoby Shaddix and Carrie Underwood’s vocals melt together beautifully. I seriously got chills over here.

Just a strong reminder to so many that you are not alone, and there will always be a light on somewhere for you.

If you or someone you know is considering suicide, please contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by dialing 988, text “STRENGTH” to the Crisis Text Line at 741741 or go to 988lifeline.org.

Lainey Wilson “Out of Oklahoma”

Happy First Day of Summer!

Let’s celebrate with new music from Lainey Wilson, shall we?

Lainey has a new song that she wrote for the upcoming “Twisters” movie soundtrack called “Out of Oklahoma”, and I think it’s one of her best yet:

LOVE IT!

Lainey’s vocals, style, and writing are perfect modern Country, and I am definitely adding this one to my personal playlist.

“Out of Oklahoma” will be featured along with tracks by Luke Combs, Shania Twain, Miranda Lambert, Red Clay Strays and more on the “Twisters” movie soundtrack with comes out the same day as the movie on July 19th.

The soundtrack alone will be worth seeing the movie for!

Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” Black Sabbath Style

Have you ever wondered what Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” would sound like if it were performed by Black Sabbath?

Yeah, me neither.

But now you will know what that would sound like, thanks to Moonic Productions:

Ok, I actually love that.

Like, if I were still in a cover band, I would want to perform it this way.

Check out more fun stuff from Moonic Productions on their YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@moonicproductions

In other Dolly news, she will be releasing her own line of wine, and I fully support this.

HARDY “Gin and Juice”

I gotta say, I did NOT have this on my 2024 bingo card…

Country/Rock star HARDY did a version of the Hip-Hop classic “Gin and Juice” with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre’s blessing.

So, basically, “Gin and Juice” for rednecks.

Gotta love the line “Gon’ slug some does”… but being married to a hunter, I mean, it checks out.

Doe meat is the best meat.

It’s all a part of the rollout for the Gin and Juice in a can that Snoop and Dre have coming out.

Hey, they got my attention.

“Creep” Goes Country!

Country singer ERNEST released a pretty solid album last Friday called “Nashville, TN”, and it’s got several big collabs on there, including ones with Lainey Wilson, Morgan Wallen, and this interesting cover with HARDY.

They were brave enough to cover the Radiohead Classic “Creep”- check it out below:

Hmmmm… I’m kind of on the fence with this one. I absolutely LOVE the original version, and it’s kind of hard to beat that. But hey, solid effort for sure.

Honestly, my favorite cover of “Creep” will always be Post Modern Jukebox’s version featuring “Amercian Idol” finalist Hailey Reinhart:

Damnnnn… never gets old.

I mean, how sexy is that? Her voice is absoutely out of this world.

What do you think of ERNEST and HARDY’s version?

Slash and Chris Stapleton Cover Fleetwood Mac’s “Oh Well”

Well, this was a pleasant surprise this morning.

Slash and Chris Stapleton just released a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Oh Well” and it’s absolutely killer.

I mean, really, how can you go wrong with Slash and Chris?

Simple. You can’t.

Seriously, how badass is that?

The collab is off of Slash’s new solo project “Orgy of the Damned” which comes out on May 17th.

So, basically, Slash shredding as he does, with dfferent vocalists on each song, like his last solo project.

Sounds pretty damn promising.

Also, Chris Stapleton will be the musical guest on “Saurday Night Live” tomorrow night, with Ryan Gosling as the host.

If they don’t do a version of “I’m Just Ken”, I’ll be sorely disappointed.
