Brooks and Dunn With Morgan Wallen “Neon Moon”

Brooks and Dunn released their “Reboot 2” album this morning, which is some of their biggest hits reimagined by today’s biggest Country stars.

One standout is their version of their classic “Neon Moon” with Morgan Wallen.

It’s a cool, modern take on one of my favorite Country songs of all time:

Lets be real- nothing can compare to the original. But it’s a pretty solid version.

Add Morgan Wallen to anyting these days, and you’ve got an automatic win.

However, THIS is my favorite version of the song, which features the incredible Kacey Musgraves:

That one never gets old.

The Brooks and Dunn “Reboot 2” album is out now, and here is the full track listing:

Kelly Clarkson “Always Remember Us This Way”

Damn, Kelly…

Kelly Clarkson did it, again.

Taking an already perfect song and making it even more perfect with her “Kellyoke” segment on “The Kelly Clarkson” show.

The song is on the “A Star is Born” soundtrack, and is sung by Lady Gaga. I loved it as soon as I heard it in the theater, and had to add it to my playlist.

Well, Kelly covered it today, and that high note at the end… chillllssss….

Seriously, how gorgeous is that?

I didn’t think anyone could do it better than Gaga, but Kelly went and made it her own.

Can we PLEASE get a “Kellyoke: Greatest Hits” album?

Like, tomorrow?

Thanks.

Ariana Grande Singing “Popular” From “Wicked”

Aaaaaaah! I’ve been waiting for this!

As you probably are well aware of by now, the “Wicked” movie- based on the smash Broadway musical “Wicked”- comes out next Friday.

Just seeing the previews get my musical theater-loving heart super giddy, and now that we have audio of Ariana Grande as Galinda performing “Popular”, well, it’s everyhting I had hoped for:

LOVVEEEE!

For reference, here is the original Galinda performing “Popular” portrayed by Kristen Chenoweth:

Pretty spot on, right?

I honestly prefer Ariana Grande’s musical theater chops as opposed to her Pop Music.  I think this genre definitely shows off her true talent, instead of songs like “Side to Side” and “Seven Rings”.

“Wicked” startting Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo hits theaters next Friday, November 22nd, and you can get more info at http://WickedMovie.com

The Best 80’s Music Videos EVER!

The 80’s… what a time to be alive.

One of the best parts of the decade- aside from the music and fashion- is the fact that MTV was actually showing music videos non-stop, and it was absolutely glorious.

As a kid, and then as a teen, I would spend hours taking in the magic of the art that is the music video. I was tranfixed, really. To this day, I still love watching them, and ca, thanks to YouTube.

One of my favorite websites, ultimatelassicrock.com, compiled a list of the 30 best music videos of the decade… see if you agree!

#10: Duran Duran “Hungry Like the Wolf”:

#9: Prince “When Does Cry”:

#8: Cyndi Lauper “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”:

#7: Dire Straits “Money for Nothing”:

#6: Van Halen “Jump”!

#5: ZZ Top “Sharp Dressed Man”:

#4: Tom Petty “Don’t Come Around Here No More”:

#3: Talking Heads “Once in a Lifetime”:

Check out the full list here:https://ultimateclassicrock.com/80s-music-videos/

Honestly… I feel like a lot are missing from the Top 30, but I don’t make the rules…

What are your favorite music videos of the 80’s?

Here’s one of mine:

“We Are the World” was my introduction to music when I was 3. It all started there…

Couple Performs “Dirty Dancing” First Dance at Their Wedding

I can’t dance. Like, at all. So, I’m always really impressed by those who can.

This video is making the internet rounds featuring a couple- Lan and Chris Donais- who married back in August. Like many couples, they had a choreographed First Dance at their wedding, but theirs went above and beyond.

You know the iconic dance scene from “Dirty Dancing” featuring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey?

Yeah, they did THAT dance, and completely NAILED the whole thing:

I am seriously impressed by this- they got the lift and all!

Even more impressive? Neither are dancers. They hired a coach to help them learn and execute the dance, and it’s clear their hard work paid off.

I have always felt that a choreographed dance at your wedding just adds to the pressure, but then again, that’s probably because I can’t dance. Even with a coach, it would end badly.

Kudos to this adorable couple for pulling it off flawlessly, and I wish them all the best in their marriage.

It got off to one heck of a start, that’s for sure!

Oh, and just to take a trip down memory lane… here’s the original!:

Nobody puts Baby in a corner.

#neverforget

Kelly Clarkson “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die”

You know I love me some Kelly Clarkson- easily one of the best vocalists of our generation.

She has this segment on her talk show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show”, called “Kellyoke” where she covers a different song every day, and what I love is not just how she makes every song her own with her perfect vocals, but also how random her song choices are.

Case in point, her version of Willie Nelson’s “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die”:

Seriously, a “Best of Kellyoke” album needs to happen.

There is literally nothing she can’t sing, and elevate it from the original.

Catch the “Kelly Clarkson Show” weekdays on NBC, and you can rabbit hole her “Kellyoke” segments here: https://www.youtube.com/@kellyclarksonshow

Dolly Parton/Eurythmics Mash-Up

It’s the day after the Presidential Election, and I’m not going to get politcal at all.  We have to much of it on social media, so I’m here to throw out some distractions, like the latest mash-up from one of my favorite content creators “There, I Ruined It”.

Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” mashed with Eurythmics “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This):

It works, right?

You’re welcome for this.

“Christmas in the Spotlight” Official Trailer

First off, I’m just gonna come out and say that I am NOT a fan of cheesy holiday movies, no matter what channel they are on.

I know, I know… I’m a traitor to my gender over here.

But, being a Kansas City Chiefs fan and a music lover, I had to check out the trailer for the upcoming Lifetime Holiday movie based on the highly publicized Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce relationship.

The movie is called “Christmas in the Spotlight”, and the offical trailer was released this past week:

Yep. Total cheesefest.

But with the female obsession of these genre of film, and the hype that still surrounds the Swift/Kelce relationship, you know it’s going to be a smash.

“Christmas in the Spotlight” debuts November 23rd on Lifetime.

Will you be watching?

Cody Johnson “C’mon Cowgirl”

Happy New Music Friday!

My favorite release so far today?

The new Cody Johnson “C’mon Cowgirl”.

If you’re a girl dad, get those tissues ready. Don’t even pretend like it’s allergies…

Oh, my heart!

Shout out to Aby Gutierrez, Adam James, and Jonathan Stark for writing this, and for Cody Johnson nailing the vocal emotion on this song, which, I’m sure, every girl dad can appreciate.

I’m a boy mom, so I can’t really relate, but still, the emotion hits me in the feels, and I know that Cody has daughters, so I’m sure this is a special song for him to have out.

The song is off of the deluxe version of Cody Johnson’s latest album “Leather”, which came out this morning, and kudos to Cody for giving us a whole new album instead of just a few extra songs as most artists tend to do.

He’s clearly been busy.

More info on Cody’s music, tour dates, etc at https://apps.codyjohnsonmusic.com/leather/

Cody is definitely one of my favorite Country artists out there right now, and he’s in the trenches fighting to save Country Music.

I sure as heck do appreciate him!

Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga Live in Vegas!

I am floored.

I mean, I already know that Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga are some of the best talents in the business, but this recent live performance in Las Vegas of their hit duet “Die With a Smile” is just wow.

Like really, really, wow.

It is so rare for artists to sound as good or better than they do on a recording, but Bruno and Gaga just proved why they are still relevant and some of the absolute BEST out there.

Bruno is currently at the Dolby Live in Las Vegas, where he is in residency.

Also, I think we need a collaborative album with these two, don’t you think?

Oh, and just for comparison, here is the recorded version:

Again, WOW.
