Luke Combs Teases New Song on Instagram!

One of the biggest acts in Country music right now is Luke Combs, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. He’s continuously putting out great music, while being an awesome human and relateable as hell.

Luke just post a clip of him performing an acoustic version of an unreleased song called “Plant a Seed” and I’m betting it’ll be a future hit single.

He explained how this song came to be on his latest instagram post: “Got sent this song a while back from @wyattmccubbin that he wrote with @bigrobsnyder and @jeffhydemusic. Last night it was in my head and I couldn’t sleep so I got up and messed around with it for a few hours. Been singing it to myself all morning and as I watched the boys while Nicole got a shower in I recorded this. Hope y’all like it and sorry for all the dad songs but that’s where I’m at these days and I couldn’t be happier about it. A lot more songs to come soon.”

As a momma, I absolutely love it, and I can’t wait to watch my own seed I planted to continue to grow.  Having a son is my absolute greatest joy in life.

As for Luke Combs, he is gearing up for a big 2024 with a ton of stadium tour dates… and apparantly a lot of new music, too.

YASSSSSSSS!!!

Country Music had a banger of a year in 2023, and I can’t wait to hear what’s in store for ’24!

Jason Aldean “Let Your Boys Be Country”

Jason Aldean just announced his new radio single “Let Your Boys Be Country” off of his latest album “Highway Desperado”, and honestly, I really like it.

I know Jason has been the center of controversy after his last #1 single “Try That in a Small Town”, which,  growing up in a small town and living that lifestyle, I didn’t take offense to it, although I can see why some took it the wrong way. And I’m sure someone will have a problem with this song, too, as people who don’t know that life won’t exactly understand the meaning of it. That’s fine.  I really liked the song, as for me, it’s very relateable. Especially as I have a son of my own right now, and one day- hopefully soon- my husband and I will return to the family farm in West Tennessee and get to live the small town life once again. I want Brandon (my son) to grow up outside, with acres of land, to be able to roam and be free, the way my husband and I both grew up. My husband- an Officer in the US Army- and a true Country boy at heart- can’t wait to live the outdoor lifestyle with our son. There really is something to it. And that’s what I get out of this song.

I especially like the video. It makes me want to go home right now, and show Brandon the ropes of growing up on a farm in a small town. All in good time.

Growing up in a rural area was a blessing. I know there are some that make fun of that lifestyle, but in my 40+ years on this planet, and getting to see many sides of life, I have to say that there is something special and real about growing up in the country and I really can’t wait to get back to it.

I hope that my son will appreciate it as much as his father and I do. If not, that’s fine, too.

But I am excited to give him that opportunity.

Cheers to Country boys, and the Mamas that raise them!

Post Malone “Pick-Up Man”

Last week, Post Malone joined HARDY and Morgan Wallen onstage at the CMA Awards for a medley honoring the late, great Joe Diffie.

In case you missed it…

I honestly enjoyed the heck out of that.

So, naturally, that performance is promoting HARDY’s “Hixtape Vol 3”, and it’s got Posty covering “Pickup Man” on it by Joe Diffie… and even features some of his vocals on it.

And you know what? It’s really freaking good.

Whatttttt????

Color me impressed. But I think at this point after hearing his Country covers, everyone knew that Post Malone would slide effortlessly into Country Music, but damn, he slid better than I thought!

It’s also now on the Billboard Hot Country Charts this week, marking Posty’s first time on the Country charts. I’m not mad at it. I like my Country Wide Open. It’s currently at #56, and I have a feeling it’s going to just go up from there.  Same goes for Post Malone’s Country career.

S/O to HARDY for coming up with the Hixtapes. He’s got his next dropping in March of 2024, and with all of the photos of Post Malone in Nasvhille studios lately… something big is brewing. Stay tuned!

Ashley McBryde “Light on In The Kitchen” Live

Ashley McBryde never fails to deliver.

Seriously, we need more artists like her in ALL the genres.

You know, the talented and real type. The kind of woman you could actually hang out with and relate to… she truly does personify what Country Music is all about.

And her live performance that was just released of her latest single “Light On in the Kitchen” is proof of her incredible talent.

Damn good, right?

If you’re one of those “I Hate Country” types who is wondering why Country resonates with so many, and why it’s selling so much, especially of late?

Well, artists like Ashley is why.

Carly Pearce “Country Music Made Me Do It”

The women of Country Music are really killing it these days… and at the forefront of the movement is Carly Pearce. With her pure Country voice and sound, she has been a refreshing change on the radio these past few years, and her star keeps on rising.

She just released a new single “Country Music Made Me Do It”, and yep, another winner.

I’m so happy with the crop of women in Country music lately… Carly, Lainey Wilson, Ashley McBryde, Kelsea Ballerini, Priscilla Block, Hailey Whitters, and Miranda and Carrie, of course! It’s kind of reminding me of the 90’s when women had a huge presence on Country radio. I’m SO glad that is resurging again.

Carly is hitting the road this year on her “Country Music Made Me Do It” tour, and then joining up with Tim McGraw for his “Standing Room Only Tour” next year.

Ashley McBryde “Cool Little Bars”

Today’s crop of Women in Country Music is pretty damn amazing.

Ashley McBryde is definitely one of my favorites! An amazing, pure Country voice, fantastic songwriting, and a “realness” that is lacking in the industry… she’s got it all.

Her new song “Cool Little Bars” came out this morning, and yep, it totally delivers.

This song reminds me of all the little bars in West Tennessee and Northern Mississippi that I used to frequent when I was in cover bands. The shadier, the better!

Some of my best nights have been spent at “Cool Little Bars”… at least from what I can remember.

In fact, I first laid eyes on my future husband at a “BYOB” bar called “Southern Comfort” in Horn Lake, MS.

I was wearing a “Jesus is My Homeboy” shirt and was carrying a bottle of Jack Daniels.

Goooood Times….

Ashley’s new album “Devil I Know” comes out on September 8th.

Conner Smith Interview and New Single “Creek Will Rise”

Conner Smith is one of the hottest up-and- coming Country acts right now, and his new single “Creek Will Rise” came across my desk recently, so I gave it a listen, and I was immediately hooked!

I’m thinking “Song of the Summer” material for sure.

Plus, Conner was cool enough to call in and chat about the song and all he’s got going on in 2023, including a tour with Luke Bryan!

Seriously, I can’t wait to hear more from Conner, and I think he’s got one heck of a future ahead of him as a singer and songwriter.

Luke Combs “Five Leaf Clover”

Luke Combs just keeps those fire singles coming!

He dropped his latest “Five Leaf Clover” this morning- because, Saint Patricks Day- and damn, it’s good.

Really good.

Melodic, relatable and true Country.  The game cam line reminds me of my husband- I’ve heard that line many of times!  And I can relate as I have been extremely lucky thus far.  I definitely have a five-leaf clover, and I am so, so appreciative of all the good things I have.  Not trying to brag or anything, but this song just hits home and reminds me of the good things. Family, a career I love, and some amazing friends (and some great fur babies!)

I know I post a lot about Luke, but hot damn, he keeps putting out songs worthy of mentioning.  And I’m sure there will be plenty more off of his upcoming album “Getin’ Old” which comes out in a week- March 24th!

Calling it another chart topper. Watch out Morgan Wallen!

Luke Combs “Joe”

Luke Combs is on FIRE!

Yes, I know I share a lot of his music, but there’s good reason for that.

He’s got a new album coming out on March 24th called “Gettin’ Old” and he keeps releasing fan favorites that will be on the album. And he does NOT disappoint.  His new single “Joe” deals with addiction and overcoming substance abuse, and the daily struggle that so many people can relate to.

True Country Music right here.

It’s such a well-written song on a topic that so many deal with on a daily basis.  Luke has admitted that Country music is full of drinking and partying songs, but there are not many songs out there for those who are on the other end of the spectrum.  I think it’s great that Luke is shining a light on such a difficult topic, and in a genre full of “Let’s get drunk in my truck” songs, it’s good to hear another side of the story.

Luke is quickly becoming one of the most respected artists in Modern Country, and it’s not hard to see why.

I can’t wait for his new album! Again, March 24th is when you can check it out.

Kelly Clarkson Covering Hank Jr’s “Family Tradition”

Kelly Clarkson is easily one of the best vocalists of our time, something she continues to prove on the daily with her “Kellyoke” segments on her show “The Kelly Clarkson Show”.

One of her latest cover song triumphs? Her version of Hank Williams Jr’s classic tune “Family Tradition”:

Dudeeee, she gave that song a whole new life!

I remember it being a karaoke staple when I was in my bar-hopping phase, but I have never heard it like this.

Can she just full-on crossover to Country now? I wouldn’t be mad at it.
