I was so excited to hear this new single, and be brought back to the Eric Church of a few years back.
His new single “Hands of Time” is perfect.
Enjoy:
Here’s the full lyrics:
“Hands Of Time”
“Detroit built brakes so that they could make a Chevy slow down
And a just-right midnight sorry might turn goodbye around
Bloody Marys and aspirin will give a hangover one hell of a fight
But my remedy for handling the hands of time
Is Seger singing “Hollywood Nights”
Even the losers get lucky sometimes
A paradise by the dashboard light
And I’m just fine, I’m doing alright
We ain’t as young as we used to be
But young at heart is so easy
When you let some loud guitars and words that rhyme
Handle the hands of time
My go-to game day jersey’s always Carolina blue
When I need to find forgiveness, I find a little small town church pew, yeah
After work I like to put my elbows up on a bar
And girl, I turn to the speakers when I need to speak to this ol’ heart
And it’s “Back In Black,” “Shook Me All Night Long”
“Could You Be Loved,” “Redemption Song”
“Luckenbach,” “Home Sweet Home”
I’m “Where I Belong,” “Ain’t Nothing Wrong,” yeah
We ain’t as young as we used to be
But young at heart is so easy
When you let some loud guitars and words that rhyme
Handle the hands of time
Hands of time
Tryin’ to hang on as the song rolls
Like gravity pulls on the grains of sand
We take our licks, life takes its toll
We say thanks and we fold our hands
And it’s “Amazing Grace,” how sweet the sound (“Amazing Grace”)
Sunday morning coming down
Tuesday’s gone, green grass of home (Tuesday’s gone)
I come to the garden alone, yeah
We ain’t as young as we used to be
But until under that willow you bury me
I’m gonna turn up some loud guitars
Turn up some loud guitars
(Turn it up loud) Turn up some loud guitars
(Turn it up) Crank some loud guitars
Crank up some loud guitars (Turn it up, turn it up now)
Wanna hear some loud guitars (Turn it up, turn it up now)
I’m gonna let some loud guitars and words that rhyme
(Turn it up, turn it up now, turn it up)
Handle the hands of time”
Oh, hell yes.
That’s one of the great things about music. It can always handle the “Hands of Time”.
The song is off of his new album “Evangeline Vs. The Machine”, and you can get info, tour dates, all that good stuff atĀ https://www.ericchurch.com/
Unless you’ve been living solely on another planet, you’ve heard about the incredibly talented Chappell Roan.
You know… the creative mind and killer voice behind Pop hits like “Good Luck Babe”, “Hot to Go”, and “Pink Pony Club”, and, of course, the winner of the coveted Grammy for “Best New Artist” this year.
She’s kind of a badass.
Well, the dropped her “Country” song today, and even as a 100,000 %Ā straight woman, I can appreciate it.
Check out “The Giver”:
Catchy, right?
Basically, she’s saying she can do it better than any man can.
I don’t doubt it.
And, Country traditionalists… don’t lose your mind. She only released a Country song for fun. She grew up in rural Missouri, and is pretty well-versed in the Country lifestyle. So, yeah, she gets a hall pass.
She has confirmed this week that she is staying in Pop music, but she wanted to drop a Country song because she loves the genre, and it’s what she grew up on.
Fair enough.
The woman can sing and perform her ass off, and is really a breath of fresh air on the Pop scene.
Country music is all about collabs lately, and I have a feeling the guys are going to LOVE (and totally relate to) this song.
Country/Rock artist HARDY has teamed up with fellow Country artist Nate Smith for a new banger called “Nobody Likes Your Girlfriend”, and both the song and video are hilarious.
Especially as we all know a guy with a girlfriend that no one likes, am I right?
So much yes right there… and I love that Kevin James is in the video as well.
As one of those girls who always had a bunch of guy friends, even I can relate to this song.
And guys, let me tell you, if no one likes your girlfriend, bail.
In my years of experience- I’m 42 now- it NEVER works out.
Randy Travis has released a new song called “Horses in Heaven” with the help of AI (Randy had a stroke years ago), and it’s times like these that I am grateful for what AI can do.
Randy Travis is a lifelong horseman, and being a horse person myself, I love this song so much.
Give it a listen below:
Here are the full lyrics:
“Horses In Heaven”
There are horses in Heaven
It says it in the Bible
Right there in Revelation
Red and pale, and black and white
Elijah left this world
On a chariot of fire
When Jesus comes back, he might just borrow
The silver for the night
There are horses in Heaven
So I bet that God’s a cowboy
Heading off into the sunset
In a big white Stetson hat
Every time you hear the thunder
It’s just a posse full of angels
Riding those horses up in Heaven
Golden saddles on their backs
When the roll is called up yonder
And they put me out to pasture
I hope there’s a pretty palomino
Just beyond the gate
I’ll see my dad and Pawpaw
You know that they’ll be waiting
To pull a plug of Red Man
And take out across the plains
‘Cause there are horses in Heaven
Yeah, I bet that God’s a cowboy
Heading off into the sunset
In a big white Stetson hat
Every time you hear the thunder
It’s just a posse full of angels
Riding those horses up in Heaven
Golden saddles on their backs
We’re all gonna get there
In a big long Cadillac
Once you cross that river
You won’t wanna cross it back
‘Cause there are horses in Heaven
So you know that God loves cowboys
Heading off into the sunset
In a big white Stetson hat
And every time you hear the thunder
It’s just a posse full of angels
Riding those horses up in Heaven
Golden saddles on their backs
There are horses in Heaven
And thank the Lord for that”
Ahhhh! My heart!
I especially love the line about the Pretty Palomino, as my mare and heart horse is a Palomino.
Definitely one of my new favorite songs this year.
Again, I’m all for AI when it’s used for things like this!
Randy Travis is on the road this year with James Dupre, and you can get the dates here:Ā http://RandyTravis.com
This past Friday, Kane Brown released his latest album “The High Road”, which is full of collabs- which is the thing lately- he’s got everyone from Brad Paisley to Jelly Roll on his new release. And, like his last album, he has tapped his incredibly vocally talented wife Katelyn for two duets. One- called “Do Us Apart” is really pretty, and has more a traditional Country sound than a lot of Kane Brown’s songs.
I’m just in love with Katelyn’s voice. She was an aspiring singer prior to marrying Kane, and holy smokes, she’s good!
Now, the song reminds me a lot of Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood’s duet that’s on the radio now called “I’m Gonna Love You”, but I almost like this one better. It just has a cool vibe to it. And honestly, I like Kane Brown’s voice and style better when he’s keeping it more traditional and not getting too Pop/Hip Hop with it. But that’s just what I prefer style-wise, as 90’s Country is what I grew up on.
Another song I like on Kane’s new album is his latest radio single “Backseat Driver”, which as a toddler mom, I can totally appreciate:
Again, a more traditional Country sound with this one. Yes, I’m old school.

Teddy Swims became majorly mainstream in the past couple of years, thanks to his massive hit “Lose Control” which was (and still is) everywhere.Ā And he proved that he’s no one-hit wonder with more hits like “The Door” and “Bad Dreams”, which are also getting major airplay. His sound is perfect- incredible bluesy rock vocals that seem to have no limit, plus great, catchy songs that pretty much everyone can enjoy.Ā I always say that he’s what would happen if Chris Stapleton and Jelly Roll had a baby.
Anyhow, Teddy has a new album out called “I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2)” and here’s the new single off of it called “Guilty”:
Pretty damn good, right?
Teddy’s vocals are in another universe.
Yeah, this guy isn’t going anywhere, and that’s a good thing.
Luke Combs is currently on the road overseas with Jordan Davis, Mitchell Tenpenny and Lane Pittman, and they just did a stop in Auckland, New Zealand where Luke debuted a new song.
The song- which it seems is titled āAināt No Cowboyā – itās a true heartbreak banger, which is what Luke does best:
