Carrie Underwood Covers “A Little Less Talk” at Toby Keith Trubute

Last night, the “Toby Keith: American Icon” tribute aired on NBC, which, of course, honored the late, great Toby Keith who lost his battle with stomache cancer earlier this year.

Country Music’s biggest stars all came out to perform and pay tribute the Country legend, and Carrie Underwood’s version of “A Little Less Talk” and freaking slayed it.

I have to say, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I heard that that was the song Carrie was going to perform, but she nailed it. Her voice is so spectaculary spot on, and really, it sounds like it’s her own song.

Maybe she should release it as a single?

Seriously impressed by her version.

Also, another Toby Keith Greatest Hits Collection is coming, too, so stay tuned!

Motley Crue “Fight For Your Right”

Motley Crue just released a new song with John 5 on guitar- and it’s a cover of the Beastie Boys classic “Fight For Your Right:.

I mean, it’s not the original, but it’s fun, high energy, and I have to say, I am really loving John 5’s guitar on this song. It really gives it one hell of a kick:

Not too shabby.

I bet it’s fun live, if Vince can handle the live vocals.

The cover is off of their upcoming EP “Cancelled” which comes out on October 3rd.

I’ve always been a Crue fan, and an 80’s Hair Metal fan as well, so I’m always happy to hear new stuff from them.

Honestly? I’m still shocked that they’re all still alive.

I mean, you read “The Dirt”, right?

Sabrina Carpenter “Taste”

There’s so much new music out this weekend!

That’s not a bad thing whatsoever.

One of my favorite current Pop artists Sabrina Carpenter released her sixth studio album “Short n’ Sweet” yesterday, and there are some really fun, well done songs on the album, like this one called “Taste”- and bonus: the music video stars Jenna Ortega!

Ok, the video is a lot, but still, entertaining, and I’m loving the song.

Another few standouts on the album for me are “Lie To Girls”:

I’m also loving “Dumb and Poetic”:

In all. it’s a banner Pop album, and is likely to be one of the biggest of the year. Sabrina already has two hit singles on the album with “Please, Please, Please” and of course, “Espresso”, and I’m sure there will be a few more off of it.

I love her unique, infectuous Pop sound, and some pretty great lyrics as well.

Also, every single song she has is catchy as all get out. I still have “Espresso” living rent-free in my head from earlier this year.

She will be heading out on tour this Fall/Winter, and you get get dates and more info at https://www.sabrinacarpenter.com/

Honestly, I feel like 2024 has been a pretty great year for music, and we’re just over halfway into it. Let’s keep that mometnum going!

Lainey Wilson “Whirlwind”

Lainey Wilson just dropped her new album “Whirlwind”, and I am loving the title track!

LOVE!!!

Then again, any song that mentons Palominos has my heart.

Here’s another few standouts for me on the album:

“Call a Cowboy”:

“Devil Don’t Go There”:

And of course, “Good Horses” with Miranda Lambert:

Lainey is so needed right now in Country music, with her legit Country sound, twangy voice, atitude and swagger. She’s got it all!

“Whirlwind” is out now, and you can catch her on tour- dates at http://LaineyWilson.com

“Nothin’ But a Good Time” Trailer!

Aaaaaaaaahhhh!

This looks so awesome.

The 80’s Hair Band docuseries  “Nothin’ But a Good Time: The Uncensored Story of 80’s Hair Metal” comes out on September 17th on Paramount +, and the trailer has me all kinds of ready:

So much yesssss… everyone from Poison to GNR to Def Leppard will be featured, and as a life long 80’s hairmetal fan, I definitely have this on my “must watch” list.

It’s a time that never will come again (thankfully) but oh, how glorious it was.

Like, in a really awesomely bad way.

Can we bring the look back, at least? I’m still a fan.

Who needs an Ozone layer when you can have hair like that?

Miranda Lambert “No Man’s Land”

Have I mentioned how much I love Miranda Lambert?

Maybe? Once or twice?

This new song of hers is just another reason why she is one of the best in the business- check out “No Man’s Land”:

Seriously, Miranda never misses. Her voice, delivery, and ability to evoke emotion through song is almost unmatched.  So far, I have loved every song she has put out off of her upcoming album “No Man’s Land”, which comes out September 13th.

Taylor Swift “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” Music Video

Taylor Swift continues to slay with the music video for her latest single off of her “Tortured Poets Department” album.

The video for “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” shows the hard work and effort that goes into putting on a tour as massive as the “Eras” tour:

Say what you will about Taylor, but she is incredibly impressive, and one hell of a businesswoman as well as a humanitarian. You don’t have to be a fan of her to appreciate what she has done.

“The Tortured Poets Department” is spending it’s 15th week on top of the Billboard 200 chart (the album chart), making it another banner year for Taylor.

The woman is unstoppable.

“Weeding Rainbow”

“There I Ruined It” (LOVE that creator) just made a parody of the hit 80’s kids’ TV show “Reading Rainbow” for the toking crowd called “Weeding Rainbow”.

As a fan of the show as a kid, I couldn’t help but snort out my coffee when I saw this:

@thereiruinedit There, I ruined your childhood. #readingrainbow ♬ original sound – There I Ruined It

This reminds me of the time I had my first gummy and cried in the shower.

I prefer wine to weed, but even I can appreciate the sentiment.

LaVar Burton is proud, I’m sure.

Post Malone Feat. Luke Combs “Missin’ You Like This”

Yesterday, Post Malone released his highly anticipated “F-1 Trillion” album, and as expected, it’s pretty damn fantastic.

Even if you’re not a fan of Post Malone infiltrating the Country Music scene, I don’t really think you could find fault in the music that he’s put out.  It’s solid stuff, and has some of the greatest in Country Music on the album with him. Oh, and then he also dropped the “F-1 Trillion: Long Bed” edition yesterday as well- a surprise 9 song album full of original Country songs of just Post Malone himself. And yes, they’re impressive, too.

I’ve been listening to “F-1 Trillion” these past 24 hours, and here’s my favorite- his collab with Luke Combs “Missin’ You Like This”:

Now, that’s some Country right there. Bonus points for the shout out to Kansas- one of the best states in the nation- and an Exxon station break-up.

Also, Post Malone sounds great on the track, as does Luke Combs (as always), and it’s been in my head for the past day.

Another couple of my favorites on the album include Post Malone’s Dolly Parton collab “Have the Heart” and his collab with Chris Stapleton “California Sober”:

I absolutely love the variety of the artists and sounds on this album, and like it or not, Post Malone just proved himself in Nashville.

Don’t hate it. Embrace it.

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars “Die With a Smile”

What happens when you combine Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars?

Easily one of the best songs of the year. Maybe the decade.

Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars deliver the vocal heat with “Die With a Smile”:

Yeah, that doesn’t have to grow on me at all.

But then again, how can you go wrong with those two?

Both artists are working on new music, and this collab definitely bodes well for whats to come.

Kudos!!!
