Cetaphil Superbowl Commercial

Let’s be honest, one of the best parts of the Super Bowl is the commercials. Unless you’re a Chiefs and Taylor Swift fan, of course!

The trend these past few years has been for brands to release their commericals early.  Some people complain about it, but, with a average of $7 million per 30 second spot, I honestly don’ blame for companies to do whatever they have to do to get their money’s worth.

Cetaphil released their Super Bowl commerical yesterday, and it’s a tearjerker for sure. Plus it’s got a clear Taylor Swift theme without actually mentioning her name:

Come on, you know it’s cute.

Plus, Cetaphil is a good product- I’ve got problem skin, and the cleanser is amazing.

No, I’m not being paid for saying that. They spent 7 million, so I’m giving them a freebie.

I’m also not mad about them capitilizing on Taylor Swift’s popularity, and her influence on the NFL this past season. She did bring a lot of new, young female fans to the NFL, and really, that’s not a bad thing. If it makes dads and daughters bond, I’m all for it. Heck, my dad and I have had several Taylor Swift-centric conversations of late, and I’m 41 and he’s 72. Whatever works, right?

Hate all you want, it’s not going away.

In these crazy times, anything that brings a smile to one’s face is a good thing.

This commercial did that for me.

Also, GO CHIEFS!

Coors Light Super Bowl Commercial Feat. Lainey Wilson

With the Super Bowl on Sunday, some of the highly-anticipated commercials are dropping early, like the Budweiser Clydesdales and the Uber Eats featuring Jelly Roll. Now Coors Light released their commercial featuring Lainey Wilson and LL Cool J:

Honestly? I was kind of disappointed, as Lainey was only shown for 2.5 seconds tops. I figured she’s have more of a presence in the commercial, since she’s the new face of Coors Light. But whatever.

I really thought she’d be the main star, like Jelly Roll was in his.

Still, even a split second cameo in a Super Bowl commercial is a huge deal, and I’m glad Lainey is getting some major world wide love.  She certainly deserves it!

That being said, I prefer Coors Banquet, and will be chugging that while cheering on The Chiefs Sunday night.

GO CHIEFS!!!

Kacey Musgraves “Deeper Well”

I’ve been waiting on this for a minute.

Kacey Musgraves- one of my favorites- just put out a new song, and it’s soooo good.

It’s called “Deeper Well” and it just dropped an hour ago.

It’s pretty, haunting, and is basically an update on Kacey’s life lately.

Apparently, she doesn’t wake and bake anymore. That’s probably a good call.

Ok, the video, as per usual with Kacey is a bit acid-trippy, but I really like the song, and the fact that she is returning to her Country roots (Yay!).

What I find interesting is that Country legend Emmylou Harris also has a song called “Deeper Well”, and I’ve always felt like Kacey is a modern-day EmmyLou.  Am I wrong here?

Kacey also announced her new album by the same name (“Deeper Well”) and it will be out March 15th, so we don’t have to wait long!

Lainey Wilson Performing “I’m Just Ken” at Grammy Pre-Party!

Lainey Wilson had a pretty great weekend, which included winning her first Grammy for Country Album of the Year for “Bell Bottom Country”, and getting to take the stage at the exclusive Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Gala. No big, right?

Seriously, I am so happy for all of Lainey’s success, and she seems like a super fun, down-to-Earth person who would be awesome to party with.

This is exepmlified by her performace of “I’m Just Ken” from the “Barbie” movie soundtrack at the Clive Davis party:

Isn’t she just the best?

Honestly, I think I like that version better than the original.

Maybe that should be on her next album?

Lainey’s got a super busy year ahead of her, including a lot of tour dates- check ’em out at http://laineywilson.com

Miley Cyrus Performs “Flowers” at 2024 Grammys

The 2024 Grammy Awards were last night, and I feel like is was one of the best nights in Grammy History! (Just my humble opinion over here)

Miley Cyrus won her first ever Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance for “Flowers”- as she should have- and soon after took the stage, and NAILED her performace.

Miley is the real deal.

She sounded great, looked amazing, and overall the performance was just so fun, and gave major Tina Turner vibes.

Miley has come a looooonnnnnggg way.

I remember being merely annoyed by her in the past, but she has more than proven herself as both an artist and human, and woman is KILLING it!

Seriously, good for her.

I can’t wait for what’s next!

Luke Combs and Tracy Chapman Peform “Fast Car” at The Grammys

I was waiting for this for the past year…

Luke Combs released his fan favorite cover of Tracy Chapman’s icnic “Fast Car” last year, and it became a runaway hit on not just the Country charts, but on the Top 40 and Adult Contemporary charts as well. As it should- it’s a great version!

Well, the original artist and the Country star who brought the song back to the forefront of Pop Culture finally collided at The 2024 Grammy Awards tnight, and it was beautiful:

How great was that?

Both great artists in their own righs from totally different worlds… and they came together on the Grammy stage tonight.

This made my heart so damn happy.

I’ve always loved the original, and Luke does a great job infusing new life into an already classic song.

Well done.

Gabby Barrett Feat. Luke Combs “Dance Like No ones Watching”

Country singer Gabby Barrett released her new album “Chapter & Verse” yesterday, and after hearing songs off of it like her latest single “Glory Days” and “You’re My Texas”, I was really looking forward to hearing her latest effort.

I’m definitely NOT dissapointed in the least!

She’s worked with so many great artists on this album, including Luke Combs who wrote “Dance Like No Ones Watching” and even gave his voice to the project:

Welp. My heart just melted.

You’re going to hear that song at ALL the weddings this year.

How amazing is Gabby’s voice on that song? And I love that she’s staying true to herself as an artist. She says that her music reflects her life, as a wife, mother, and Christian, and I love that.

Family values, people. It’s a good thing.

Gabby’s “Chapter & Verse” is out now, and is worth adding to your 2024 playlist.

Jelly Roll Super Bowl Commercial

Jelly Roll is having a major moment right now, and he’s now the star of the “Uber Eats” Super Bowl commercial!

That’s how you know you’ve made it, right?

It’s only 15 seconds (hopefully we’ll get a longer one next Sunday) but it’s hilarious.

I love that Jely Roll can laugh at himself, and yes, he does regret the tattoos.

This is why you don’t tattoo your face, kids.

One day, you’ll be like. “WTF was I thinking?????”

But Jelly is owning it, like everything else lately.

Oh, and Lainey Wilson has a Coors Light SB commercial coming, so stay tuned for that!

Also, GO CHIEFSSSSS!

Dolly Parton “Sweet Dreams”

The iconic Dolly Parton is 78 today!

And to celebrate her birthday, she just released a Deluxe Version of her “Rockstar” albuym featuring some new reimagined tracks, like “Sweet Dreams” by The Eurythmics:

Ok, how cool was that? Haunting and creepy, and still has the rock edge and those stellar Dolly vocals. Honestly, I think that is one of my favorite verisons of that song.

She also released a version of “Bridge Over Troubled Water”:

Annnnnddd… a version of Eddie Money’s “Two Tickets to Paradise”!

Overall, she has nine new tracks on the Deluxe version of her “Rockstar” album, which is available now.

Happy Birthday, Dolly!

QUEEEEEEEEEENNNNNN!!!!

Luke Grimes Live Version of “Burn”

Well, color me impressed.

Luke Grimes- best known as the actor who portrays Kayce Dutton in “Yellowstone” is making quite the name for himself in the Country Music world, which is even further solidified with his live version of “Burn” during a recent Spotify Outside Session.

Check this out:

I love the simplicity of his music, which a good bit of it he has written or co-written.

If you haven’t heard the studio verison, here you go:

So, so good.

All of his music sounds like it could be featured on he “Yellowstone” soundtrack- and some of it is!

Luke’s debut EP “Pain Pils or Pews” is out now, and you get get more info and dates at http://lukegrimes.com
