It looks like it’s going to take more than three Felony charges to slow Morgan Wallen down…
After getting arrested – again- this time for throwing a chair off of the rooftop Eric Church’s bar in downtown Nashville a couple of weeks ago, Morgan Wallen is back on the road, and really, not missing a beat.
He has since apologized, but it still remains to be seen if the charges will stick.
Really, Morgan is just a dumb drunk. That’s what it boils down to. A lot of Country stars have done waaaaayyyyy worse. But still, it was messed up, and I’m hoping he has learned his lesson.
Probably not.
But one can hope, right?
Anyhow, back to the music…
Morgan was at Ole Miss over the weekend, which is like Ground Zero for his fanbase, and he debuted a new song called “Lies Lies Lies” live and it sounds awesome:
Last Fall, we lost the icon Jimmy Buffett, and since then, there have been so many fantastic tributes to the legend.
His music has touched so many lives over the decade, and his legacy will always go on.
The latest tribute that has me all in my feels is The Zac Brown Band’s “Pirates and Parrots” with Jimmy Buffett Coral Reefer bandmate and collaborator Mac McAnally:
Ok, I may have a little tear on my eye after that…
The Zac Brown Band have a busy year wih their joint tour with Kenny Chesney,
Chris Stapleton can sing anything, and he proved it on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” during a segment called “Wing It and Sing It” where he had to perform a song sight unseen until the lyrics were presented to him.
The result?
Absolutely Hilarious!
I really think Chris needs to cut that as his next single.
I laughed way to damn hard at this!
Again, thank you, Baby Jesus, for Chris Stapleton.
Jelly Roll is EVERYWHERE these days. On your radio, on your tv, and he’s basically taking over with his Country/Rock vibe and big (no pun intended) personality and amazing backstory.
He’s one of the few artists that gets regular airplay on Country, Rock, Top 40, and Adult Contemporary radio.
That in itself is a huge deal.
Well, last night, at The Grand Ole Opry, he debuted a new, unreleased song to see how it went over, and I have a feeling it’ll be on his next project.
Check out “Liar” below:
According to the fans’ reaction, it definitely has big hit potential.
She continued her long streak of stellar vocal performances last night at The Grand Ole Opry with a tribute to the late, great Toby Keith with a pitch-perfect rendition of “Should Have Been a Cowboy”:
I love how Carrie can be pure Country one minute, Gospel the next, and then rip a Guns N’ Roses song to shreds.
Also, her legs are basically National Treasures.
I’m pretty sure Toby Keith would be proud!
Let’s be real, it’s a world better than Brooks and Dunn’s tribute at the CMT Awards last weekend:
Now, I LOVE me some B&D, but something was definitely off there. Sammy Hagar honestly had the best tribute that night, and he’s not even a little bit Country.
Hey, we all have our bad nights, right?
But yeah, Carrie Underwood, though.
Kind of rude that she gets that voice AND those legs, though.
Chris Stapleton was on “Saturday Night Live” last night, and although he didn’t perform “I’m Just Ken” with host Ryan Gosling, his perfromances and skits redeemed that.
Case in point: “Get That Boy Back”:
I choked on my coffee watching that.
And, of course, Chris never misses on his live performances:
Post Malone just threw us another Country Bone with a recent cover of Garth Brooks’ iconic “Friends in Low Places” in the studio while working on his Country project.
