I mean, I already know that Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga are some of the best talents in the business, but this recent live performance in Las Vegas of their hit duet “Die With a Smile” is just wow.
Like really, really, wow.
It is so rare for artists to sound as good or better than they do on a recording, but Bruno and Gaga just proved why they are still relevant and some of the absolute BEST out there.
Bruno is currently at the Dolby Live in Las Vegas, where he is in residency.
Also, I think we need a collaborative album with these two, don’t you think?
Oh, and just for comparison, here is the recorded version:
Ok, I’m really excited to see the “Wicked” movie now.
Of course, it’s based on the massive hit Broadway musical “Wicked”, which is absolutely incredible. And it’s really, really hard to parlay a stage hit onto the silver screen, but it looks like it might have been pulled off in the upcoming movie version.
Both Ariana Grande and Cynthia Eriva show off their vocal prowress by singing live in the movie, as opposed to lip-synching to previously recorded tracks, which is usually how it’s done.
Check this out:
Ok, that is hella impressive.
“Wicked” Part 1 hits theaters on November 22nd, and honestly, I’m thinking it looks like a smash so far.
Hopefully it doesn’t go the way of “Cats”… remember that debacle?
I love weddings, and I kind of have a special interest considering my parents own a wedding venue in West Tennessee (Check em out- Cogansfarm.com.).
So, naturally, I have a vested interest in anything having to do with weddings and wedding trends.
That being said, Brides magazine released a list of the most played songs at wedding receptions. A recent study looked at 2,000 wedding playlists on Spotify to find the most popular songs, and here are the Top 10:
1. “I Wanna Dance with Somebody”, Whitney Houston:
If you don’t love this song and try o hit the high note when Whitney sings “Heeeeeeaaaaaattttt” in the 2nd chourus, you’re not living your life right.
Bonus points if you point in the air when you do it.
2. “Dancing Queen”, ABBA:
‘/;[
Don’t hate me. I never liked this song. I know, I know. Take my chick card and burn it.
3. “Yeah!”, Usher featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris:
It’s a scientific fact that if you want to get people on the dance floor, play the above song.
4. “Mr. Brightside”, The Killers:
This one makes no sense to me.
I’ve worked plenty of weddings and never heard this on the playlist. Calling BS on this one.
5. “September”, Earth, Wind & Fire:
Now THIS song I will ALWAYS dance to. It’s one of those instant mood lifters, and should really be in ABBA’s place on this list.
6. “I Gotta Feeling”, Black Eyed Peas:
This sog was EVERYWHERE in, what, 2010?
That was fourteen years ago, by the way.
Ouch.
Mazel Tov.
7. “Marry You”, Bruno Mars:
Because, duh.
8. “Crazy in Love”, Beyoncé:
Let’s be real, old school Beyonce is always a win.
I remember this song dropping in college, and it being played every single hour at the club.
It still slaps.
9. “Shut Up and Dance”, Walk the Moon:
This song is just so perfect. A decade later, and it still works. And it will for many more decades.
10. “Low”, Flo Rida:
Apple Bottom jeans and boots with the furrrr may no longer be in style, but you know everytime this song comes on, everybody and their grandma- literally- are going to attempt to get low.
I’m just a little obsessed with Postmodern Jukebox and the amazing covers and reimagining of popular songs in a vintage style.
Their latest offering?
A take on the wildly popular Pop song “Good Luck, Babe” by one of this year’s breakout stars Chappell Roan in the style of the late Lesley Gore.
It’s prety dang fantastic, and Tatum Langley KILLS it on the vocals.
Enjoy:
LOOOOOVVEEEE!
Seriously, everyone in this group is insanely talented, and I’m gonna jump down the rabbit hole once again instead of doing things I actually should be doing, like dishes.
Her latest “Kellyoke” segment on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” features Kelly covering another one of my favorite artists Dwight Yoakam, with a gorgeous rendition of “Ain’t That Lonely Yet”:
Slay, Kelly, slayyyyy…
I love how she can take a song that is completely different than her own voice and style and make it sound like her own.
I could honestly see her releasing this as a single.
Maybe just a whole album of Country covers?
Again, universe, you heard me. Now make it happen!
You can catch the “Kelly Clarkson Show” weekdays on NBC.
Lady Gaga announced earlier this week that she had more new music coming, and she made good on that promise this morning by dropping the Rock tinged track “Disease”, and, of course, it’s pretty damn good.
I mean, it’s Gaga after all.
I love the rock edge, and I’m feeling Nine Inch Nails “Closer” vibes as well as a tinge of her song “Bloody Mary” in there.
I’m definitely not disappointed, and it’s already taking up rent-free space in my head.
The song is most likely off of Lady Gaga’s upcoming 7th studio album, which we know she has been working on.
This song defnitely bodes well fr the rest of the album. I’m hoping for more Rock Gaga in he future.
Morgan Wallen released one hell of a new song last Friday called “Love Somebody”, and I swear, it’s been in my head in heavy rotation this past week.
Well, Morgan just released an official live video of him performing “Love Somebody” at one of his shows at the famed Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN. He performed to over 150,000 fans over two days setting an attendance record, and it only made sense to release a live video, right?
Enjoy:
Morgan Wallen always brings it live, and there’s a reason why his recent “One Night at a Time” tour is now the biggest selling Country Music tour of all time.
OF ALL TIME.
Damn, son.
That’s no joke right there.
And…. he’s working on a new album, so stay tuned.
If “Love Somebody” is any indication, it’s gonna be another record-breaker.
I, like many others, was obsessed with that show. Although, looking back, it kind of went to crap the last few seasons. But, still, it was fun as hell to watch and discuss passionately with everyone else who watched it.
Well, this fake AI trailer for a redneck version of “Game of Thrones” by creator demonflyingfox looks like it could be better than the actual real show.
When used like this, I really love AI:
“Game of Trailers”?
YES, PLEASE!!!
I especially love the DragonCroc. I mean, how great is that?
