Dolly Parton “If You Hadn’t Been There”

Well, I just ugly cried all over the place.

Earlier this week, Dolly Parton’s husband of almost sixty years- Carl Dean- passed away at the age of 82.

What a love they shared… and she honored him by releasing a song to tribute him called “If You Hadn’t Been There”, and released the following statement:

“I fell in love with Carl Dean when I was 18 years old. We have spent 60 precious and meaningful years together. Like all great love stories, they never end. They live on in memory and song. He will always be the star of my life story, and I dedicate this song to him.”

Oh, my heart.

Here’s “If You Hadn’t Been There”:

Absolutely beautiful.

And what a gorgeous tribute to an everlasting love.

I have been lucky to have been married almost eighteen years thus far, and can only hope to achieve that same longevity.

#lovegoals

Rest Easy, Carl.

Thank you for sharing your wife with the world.

Morgan Wallen Teases New Music “I’m a Little Crazy”

Morgan Wallen is such a damn tease…

He’s got a new album coming out this year called “I’m The Problem”, and although he hasn’t officially set the release date or track list yet, he’s not been shy about posting teasers of what will be on the album.

Earlier today, he shared a clip of “I’m a Little Crazy”, and I have a feeling most of his audience will relate:

Another solid Country song incoming…

And it goes well with the state of the world these days.

My husband is Active Duty Army, and has been for the past 18 years. He says the “boogeyman” is real.  Sadly, our world is insane, and you have to do what you can do to get through it.

For a lot of us, that’s music.

And from the sound of it, Morgan seems to have some pretty solid stuff in the pipeline for us.

Stay tuned!

Also, he’s hitting the road in 2025 with Miranda Lambert, and you know that’s gonna be amazing.

Chappell Roan and Elton John Perform “Pink Pony Club” at Oscars Watch Party

Now THIS is something to see.

Chappell Roan was the guest performer at Elton John’s annual Oscar Watch Party, and it was everything you would have expected.

Just one big Pink Pony Party!

Here’s another glimpse:

Chappell Roan is one of the best performers in our modern music era, and I’m so happy that she’s getting the attention she deserves.

I can’t wait to see what she does next.

In the meantime, I’ll have “Pink Pony Club” running on loop in my head.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo Perform Gorgeous “Wicked” Medley at The Oscars.

Wow.

That was absolutely incredible.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo opened the 2025 Oscars tonight with a “Wicked” medley, and THIS is talent.

Pure and simple.

I LOVE the broadway musical, and the movie definitely is just as magical.

Ariana Grande’s talent is beyond, and I’m glad she has moved on from some of her earlier songs, that honestly, didn’t deserve her.

She’s absolutely magic, as is Cynthia Erivo.

No autotune, no big production, no back-up dancers or suggestive lyrics… just pure talent.

More of this, please?

HARDY and Nate Smith: Nobody Likes Your Girlfriend

Country music is all about collabs lately, and I have a feeling the guys are going to LOVE (and totally relate to) this song.

Country/Rock artist HARDY has teamed up with fellow Country artist Nate Smith for a new banger called “Nobody Likes Your Girlfriend”, and both the song and video are hilarious.

Especially as we all know a guy with a girlfriend that no one likes, am I right?

So much yes right there… and I love that Kevin James is in the video as well.

As one of those girls who always had a bunch of guy friends, even I can relate to this song.

And guys, let me tell you, if no one likes your girlfriend, bail.

In my years of experience- I’m 42 now- it NEVER works out.

Both HARDY and Nate Smith are on the road this year, and you can get dates and info at https://hardyofficial.com/home/ and https://www.natesmithofficial.com/.

Also, having seen HARDY live before, I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed.

Morgan Wallen Previews New Song About His Son

Well, dang.

Another future hit from Morgan Wallen has arrived…

Morgan Wallen has a new album called “I’m the Problem” which we’re still waiting on the release date and track listing. In the meantime, Morgan is sporadically putting out songs from the upcoming project, and he has his first song on there about being a dad to his song Indigo.

He wrote on his socials, “Been trying for a long time to write a song I loved to my son. None of them ever feel good enough because of how perfect I want something like this to be. And not saying this is perfect, but I am very proud of it. Here is a clip; It’s called ‘Superman.’”

Enjoy:

Yeah, I’d say he hit that one out of the park. I especially love the references to the hot mess that Morgan can sometimes be. But, hey, at least he owns up to it!

I seriously cannot wait to hear this album.

Morgan will also be on the road with Miranda Lambert this year, which is going to be all kinds of amazing. Get dates and info at  http://morganwallen.com

Black Sabbath “Take Me Home Country Roads”

Now THIS is how AI should be used.

One of my favorite creators- There, I Ruined It- made an AI version of what Black Sabbath covering John Denver’s classic “Take Me Home Country Roads” would sound like, and you know what?

It works.

It shouldn’t, but it does:

Yep. That’s cool as hell.

If you know anything at all about me, you know that I love all genres of music, and can totally appreciate these kinds of things.

AI is terrifying, but when used for fun purposes like this, I can totally get down with it.

Lainey Wilson “Livin’ On a Prayer”

CRS (Country Radio Seminar) was this past week in Nashville, and sadly, I wasn’t able to make it this year.  It’s an insane few days in Music City with all the Country artists and industry peeps, and I’ve been having major FOMO these past few days seeing all my radio friends’ posts about it on social media.

One of my favorite parts of CRS is the performances… and one that has been making the social media rounds these past 24 hours is Lainey Wilson’s performance of the Bon Jovi Classic “Livin’ on a Prayer”.

She did pretty dang good:

Not too shabby. That is a hard song to sing, especially with the octave jump at the end. I think the band got confused once or twice on where the notes were, but that’s ok. Pretty sure they were just having a good time, and that’s what it’s all about.

I used to sing in cover bands, and this was always a staple.

Don’t believe me?

Panama City 2010.

What a time to be alive:

I can’t even log into that YouTube channel anymore…

Oh well.

Anyhow, back to the subject at hand.

Lainey Wilson is a baddie, and you can catch her on the road this year – get dates at http://LaineyWilson.com

Miranda Lambert “Run” Music Video

Damn, I love me some Miranda Lambert.

She just released the music video for her new single “Run”, and of course, it’s gorgeous, and chock full of horses and badass Western fashion.

Enjoy:

LOVE!

Then again, I love most of what Miranda does. She’s an incredible songwriter and vocalist, as well as a fellow horsewoman who likes her wine.

I’m telling you, we should be friends.

She is hitting the road this year with Morgan Wallen (which will be an AMAZING show), and you can get your tour dates here: ://www.mirandalambert.com/

Cher Performing “Turn Back Time” at the SNL Homecoming Concert

Cher is 78.

I just want to remind you of this before you see the video of her performance at the SNL Homecoming Concert from this past weekend.

This 78, ya’ll:

Woman has definitely still got it!

I have always loved that song, and I have so many memories of singing it in the car with my mom when I was a kid.

Kudos to Cher for pulling it off.

Also, I still really want that outfit.

Just for Daycare Drop-Off…
