Kelly Clarkson Covers Reba McEntire’s “Til You Love Me”

I know I can’t seem to go a week without sharing a Kellyoke video, but come on, she’s just so damn good!

Yesterday, on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” Kelly covered one of my favorite Reba McEntire songs “Til’ You Love Me”, and of course, slayed it.

Yep, she definitely did that song justice. That song was my JAM in the 8h grade.

Very few people can cover Reba McEntire, let alone make it almost as good as the original.

But she did the dang thing!

Honestly, I want to see her cover a Metallica or Black Sabbath song.

Ooooh! Or Dio “Rainbow in the Dark”!

What would you like to see Kelly take on?

Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” Black Sabbath Style

Have you ever wondered what Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” would sound like if it were performed by Black Sabbath?

Yeah, me neither.

But now you will know what that would sound like, thanks to Moonic Productions:

Ok, I actually love that.

Like, if I were still in a cover band, I would want to perform it this way.

Check out more fun stuff from Moonic Productions on their YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@moonicproductions

In other Dolly news, she will be releasing her own line of wine, and I fully support this.

Ashley McBryde Performs a Disney Classic With “Part of Your World”

Ashley McBryde recently performed in Orlando, and she totally got Disney with it.

As she should.

Check out her incredible performance of “Part of Your World” from the Disney classic “The Little Mermaid”:

@ashleymcbrydemusic When in Orlando, you MUST sing a #Disney song…specifically, you must sing something from The Little Mermaid. Thanks @Lynsey for capturing this video! #OnTour #TheLittleMermaid ♬ original sound – Ashley McBryde

How great was that, though?

Ok, so now I’m thinking that a Country covers album of Disney Classics sung by today’s Country stars should be a thing.

Ok, universe, I threw it out to ya, now go manifest!

Afroman “Hunter Got High”

I. Am. Dying.

Look, I try not to get too political, because honestly, what’s the point?

The whole system is messed up on both sides. So, it’s hard for me to get involved knowing there is real no right answer.

But there is something that I think EVERYONE can agree on: Hunter Biden is a complete hot mess express.

So much so that Afroman made a parody of his own hit song “Because I Got High” and turned it into the best song of the year so far.

Ladies and gentlemen… I present to you “Hunter Got High”!

Absolutely glorious, and already my week has been made, and it’s only Monday.

On a side note, I once went to an Afroman concert at Rick’s in Starkville, MS when I was in college.

I didn’t get high.

Missed opportunity, for sure.

Morgan Wallen and Post Malone Debut “I Had Some Help” at Stagecoach

Stagecoach was on FIRE this past weekend.

Seroiusly having FOMO watching all of these fan videos popping up everywhere.

First Miranda Lambert debuting her new song “Wranglers” and then bringing Reba onstage? What???

Then last night, headliner Morgan Wallen brought out Post Malone for their new collab “I Had Some Help”.

I mean, what better place to show off the new music than Stagecoach, right?

@isabellagrossman5 Posty x morgan was the highlight of my year #postmalone #morganwallen #morgan #stagecoach #coachella #posty #country #countrymusic ♬ original sound – Isabella Grossman

Here some more footage I found so far:

This song is catchy as HELL, and you know it’ll be #1 if released as single.

Pretty sure both guys are a bit wasted during this performance, but it’s Morgan and Posty, so that’s to be expected.

Also, it’s freaking Stagecoach. Hell No H20!

2024 is shaping up to be a pretty solid year for music, and I can’t wait for more!

And if you want to catch Morgan on the road this year (good luck getting tickets) here’s the dates: https://morganwallen.com/

Here’s more footage that I had found so far:

I am SO excited for this new single, which drops this Friday, May 3rd. And since Miranda signed with Republic Records recently, it’s a safe bet we’ll get a new album soon.

Oh, but you know what ELSE happened?

Miranda surprised fans again when she did a 3-song medley with Reba McEntire!

I don’t know f I can handle all of this badassery.

Kelly Clarkson Covers Don Henley on “The Kelly Clarkson Show”

Ok, I’m kind of obsessed with Kelly Clarkson’s “Kellyoke” segment on “The Kelly Clarkson Show”.

I honestly don’t think there is anything that she can’t sing and make it as good or even better than the original.

The latest performance that caught my attention? Her cover of Don Henley’s “Heart of the Matter”.

Just… wow.

I’ve always loved that song, and Kelly added just the right amount of vocal gymnastics to make her version extra special.

Does she ever miss a note or go off pitch?  Is that just an scientific impossiblity for her?

Anyway, kudos to Kelly on this version of “Heart of the Matter”.  She really nailed this one to the floor.

Chris Stapleton Covers Tom Petty

Well, HOT DAMN.

Chris Stapleton just released his contibuton to the upcoming Tom Petty Country Tribute album “Petty Country” and it’s everything and more I hoped it would be.

Chris was tapped to sing “I Should Have Known It” and it’s all the badassery you could want:

I love that it has that strong Southern Rock vibe that Chris does so well.

Then again, I’m pretty sure Chris could sing… I don’t know… bubblegum Pop and sound stellar.

Hm. Maybe he should prove that?

Maybe he should do a Britney Spears tribute?

He would make it work.

Here’s the full track listing for “Petty Country” out May 31st:

  2. “Wildflowers” by Thomas Rhett

Motley Crue “Dogs of War”

Motley Crue is moving on from Mick Mars with their first recording with new guitarist John 5 with their new release “Dogs of War”.

Now, I love me some Motley Crue. Especially the “Theater of Pain” and “Dr. Feelgood”  eras.

And I was kind of excited when I heard the opening guitar riff, thinking, “Oh, heck, this could be good”.  And then there was kind of a letdown aferwards.

I mean, it’s not horrble. But Vince Neil’s vocals are super distorted (probably because his singing isn’t up to par, and hasn’t been for years), and it reminds me of bands that were trying to hard to be “hard” in the late 90’s/early 2000’s.

At least, that’s the vibe I caught from it.

That being said, kudos to them for keeping the Crue Train rolling, and I’m looking forward to more new music from them. They just signed with Big Machine, so I have a feeling some good stuff could come from that.
