Lakelin Lemmings “Baby Daddy”

In honor of Father’s Day, I wanted to share a new song from a girl from my hometown of Henderson, TN.  Her name is Lakelin Lemmings (remember her name! Pretty sure you’ll be hearing more of it!), she’s 17 years old, and she’s a singer/songwriter who has been performing since the age of 6!

Here’s her new single that she wrote with Ash Bowers (also from the area I grew up in!) and Rose Falcon (Rodney Atkins wife!)- it’s called “Baby Daddy” and I thought it was definitely worth a share!

How sweet is that?  And what a talent, too.

She also went viral this week on tiktok when she showed her dad her new song for the first time!

I can’t wait to see what the future brings for Lakelin!

Chester County Proud!

Carly Pearce Feat. Chris Stapleton “We Don’t Fight Anymore”

Everyone is collabing with everyone in Nashville, and I am NOT mad at it.

I was looking forward to this combo since I heard it was happening.

Carly Pearce AND Chris Stapleton?

Bring it.

The song is called “We Don’t Fight Anymore” and it’s sad, emotional, and perfectly embodies the quiet demise of a relationship.

I once heard that the opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s indifference.

I couldn’t agree more.

Well done. Carly Pearce and Chris Stapleton!

Buckle up for more collabs this year in Country Music. I’m here for it!

Lauren Alaina Featuring Lainey Wilson “Thicc as Thieves”

You know I love me some Lainey Wilson, and I’ve liked Lauren Alaina since she was on “American Idol” back in 2011. Remember that? Yeah, I used to watch religiously and discuss every performance with my parents because that’s what people did back then.  Anyhow, Lauren Alaina just dropped a 6 song EP “Unlocked” this morning, and it features a really fun song with Lainey Wilson called “Thicc as Thieves”, and of course, it’s super fun.

It actually sounds a lot like Gretchen Wilson’s “Here for the Party” in the beginning. It has that same kind of vibe, too.  I just like the celebration of the big booty, as I have one myself.  And damn proud of it!

Also, I’m pretty sure Lainey Wilson is poised to take over the Country music world. She’s really exploded this past year, and I can’t think of anyone who deserves it more!

Did I ever mention that I interviewed her last year?

Still not over that.

Miranda Lambert/Leon Bridges “If You Were Mine”

Miranda Lambert is forever one of my favorite artists- not just in Country Music, but across all the genres.  She’s got a lot of things happening right now, including several collaborations that we can look forward to.  In fact, she just gave us a new song this morning with Leon Bridges called “If You Were Mine” and it’s perfect.

I just love the easy vibe to the song, as well as those two unique voices together.  Can’t wait to hear more of what she’s got in the pipeline for us!

Miranda did say that her dream collab would be with Beyonce.

Hey, Universe, can we make that happen?

New Luke Grimes “Playin’ On the Tracks”

If you’re like me, and a majority of people who watch TV, it’s likely you’re a fan of “Yellowstone” or at least are kind of into it. If nothing else, you know who Luke Grimes is.  The actor who plays the tortured heartthrob Kayce Dutton just released another Country song- yeah, he’s a Country singer now, and he’s not half bad!

This one he co-wrote with Brent Cobb and was produced by Dave Cobb. It’s called “Playin’ in the Tracks” and it, like all of his others so far, have that old-school Country vibe.

Again, totally a song I could see on the “Yellowstone” soundtrack.  You know, like when someone is getting taken to the “Train Station”.

When is his debut album coming out?

Like the second half of Season 5 of “Yellowstone”, I have no freaking clue.

Jelly Roll Feat. Lainey Wilson “Save Me”

Jelly Roll has surprisingly become one of the hottest acts in Country music lately, and it’s well-deserved!

Let’s be honest, no one looks at Jelly Roll and says, “yo, that dude’s COUNTRY”.  But thankfully, Country isn’t just about the look. It’s about the music and the stories and life behind it, and Jelly Roll has one of the best stories to tell.  His song “Save Me” was already great, but add Lainey Wilson to it?  Freaking stellar.

And they performed it on the “American Idol” finale last night with Oliver Steele, and crushed it.

It’s just such a good song with incredible vocals, and a theme that, sadly, many can relate to.  Also, with it being “Mental Health Awareness Month” it’s definitely one I want to share.

By the way, Jelly Roll’s first full-length Country album “WHITSITT CHAPEL” comes out June 2nd.

Jason Aldean “Try That in a Small Town”

Jason Aldean just put out a new single, “Try That in a Small Town”, and I have a feeling it’s his next #1 hit.  Because it’s Jason Aldean, and no matter how generic a song is, if he sings it, it’s an automatic #1 at Country Radio (he and Luke Bryan have this in common), and also, because the content speaks to a majority of the Country demographic.  Having grown up in a small town (Henderson, TN- look it up, ya’ll), it spoke to me as well.  My husband and I both hail from small West Tennessee towns, and this song is spot on.  And honestly? It’s not a bad thing.  Life truly is different in the Country, and I really can’t wait to return one day. Don’t get me wrong, it’s been great to live in all kinds of parts of the US, and experience different ways to live, but small-town life on the farm will always be where my heart lies.

And good luck taking anyone’s guns in a small town.  Especially my husband’s!

Yep, small town life truly is different, and again, not a bad thing.  A lot of my “City Friends” hate on the lifestyle, but until you have truly lived it and experienced it, don’t judge, ok?

Except for mudding. I still can’t figure out why people think that’s fun?

Foo Fighters “Under You”

Have I mentioned that I love the Foo Fighters? Maybe a thousand times?

Well, they just dropped a new song called “Under You” and it is a perfect tribute to the late Taylor Hawkins.

Sentimental, lyrically on-point, and with the signature Foo sound that has made the band a staple for decades.

“Someone said I’ll never see your face again
Part of me just can’t believe it’s true
Pictures of us sharing songs and cigarettes
This is how I’ll always picture you”

Those lyrics just hit hard.

The Foo Fighters will release their new album- their first studio effort without Taylor- on June 2nd.

Bittersweet for sure, but I’m happy they are continuing as a band, and using music to heal.

After all, it’s the best medicine there is!

Ed Sheeran and Luke Combs ACM Performance

The 2023 ACM Awards were last night in Texas, and as per usual, the live performances did NOT disappoint!

(Also, I enjoyed watching it on Prime- way less commercials, and it only took a couple of hours, which is perfect for my short attention span)

Here’s one of my favorite performances of the night:

Ed Sheeran and Luke Combs “Life Goes On”

Ed and Luke together?

YASSSSSSSS. So much talent on that stage.

And Ed did say this week that he would love to transition to Country music, so we shall see…

Here’s the rcorded version that just dropped this morning:

So, soooo good.

I’m totally down for Ed on Country radio.

What do you think?
