Coors Light Super Bowl Commercial Feat. Lainey Wilson

With the Super Bowl on Sunday, some of the highly-anticipated commercials are dropping early, like the Budweiser Clydesdales and the Uber Eats featuring Jelly Roll. Now Coors Light released their commercial featuring Lainey Wilson and LL Cool J:

Honestly? I was kind of disappointed, as Lainey was only shown for 2.5 seconds tops. I figured she’s have more of a presence in the commercial, since she’s the new face of Coors Light. But whatever.

I really thought she’d be the main star, like Jelly Roll was in his.

Still, even a split second cameo in a Super Bowl commercial is a huge deal, and I’m glad Lainey is getting some major world wide love.  She certainly deserves it!

That being said, I prefer Coors Banquet, and will be chugging that while cheering on The Chiefs Sunday night.

GO CHIEFS!!!

Lainey Wilson Performing “I’m Just Ken” at Grammy Pre-Party!

Lainey Wilson had a pretty great weekend, which included winning her first Grammy for Country Album of the Year for “Bell Bottom Country”, and getting to take the stage at the exclusive Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Gala. No big, right?

Seriously, I am so happy for all of Lainey’s success, and she seems like a super fun, down-to-Earth person who would be awesome to party with.

This is exepmlified by her performace of “I’m Just Ken” from the “Barbie” movie soundtrack at the Clive Davis party:

Isn’t she just the best?

Honestly, I think I like that version better than the original.

Maybe that should be on her next album?

Miley Cyrus Performs “Flowers” at 2024 Grammys

The 2024 Grammy Awards were last night, and I feel like is was one of the best nights in Grammy History! (Just my humble opinion over here)

Miley Cyrus won her first ever Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance for “Flowers”- as she should have- and soon after took the stage, and NAILED her performace.

Miley is the real deal.

She sounded great, looked amazing, and overall the performance was just so fun, and gave major Tina Turner vibes.

Miley has come a looooonnnnnggg way.

I remember being merely annoyed by her in the past, but she has more than proven herself as both an artist and human, and woman is KILLING it!

Seriously, good for her.

I can’t wait for what’s next!

Luke Combs and Tracy Chapman Peform “Fast Car” at The Grammys

I was waiting for this for the past year…

Luke Combs released his fan favorite cover of Tracy Chapman’s icnic “Fast Car” last year, and it became a runaway hit on not just the Country charts, but on the Top 40 and Adult Contemporary charts as well. As it should- it’s a great version!

Well, the original artist and the Country star who brought the song back to the forefront of Pop Culture finally collided at The 2024 Grammy Awards tnight, and it was beautiful:

How great was that?

Both great artists in their own righs from totally different worlds… and they came together on the Grammy stage tonight.

This made my heart so damn happy.

I’ve always loved the original, and Luke does a great job infusing new life into an already classic song.

Well done.

Gabby Barrett Feat. Luke Combs “Dance Like No ones Watching”

Country singer Gabby Barrett released her new album “Chapter & Verse” yesterday, and after hearing songs off of it like her latest single “Glory Days” and “You’re My Texas”, I was really looking forward to hearing her latest effort.

I’m definitely NOT dissapointed in the least!

She’s worked with so many great artists on this album, including Luke Combs who wrote “Dance Like No Ones Watching” and even gave his voice to the project:

Welp. My heart just melted.

You’re going to hear that song at ALL the weddings this year.

How amazing is Gabby’s voice on that song? And I love that she’s staying true to herself as an artist. She says that her music reflects her life, as a wife, mother, and Christian, and I love that.

Family values, people. It’s a good thing.

Gabby’s “Chapter & Verse” is out now, and is worth adding to your 2024 playlist.

Keith Urban “Straight Line”

It’s been a couple years since we’ve had new music from Keith Urban, and that all changed this morning.

Keith just dropped his first new song in 2 years called “Straight Line”, and it’s going to be the perfect Spring/Summer jam this year.

Yeah, that’s super catchy.  High energy, feel-good, fast paced, with some good guitar action near the end… I’m sure this will be another big hit for Keith!

I can totally see myself driving down the road jamming out to this one. It’s an instant mood lifter,

It almost sounds like it’s got cross-over potential for Adult Contemporary radio as well.  Look, there’s nothing wrong with genre-crossing. I have a lot of listeners that complain, but I feel that music doesn’t always have to be categorized. If it’s good, it’s good. Who cares?

Plus, anytime a Country artist crosses over, that just brings more attention to the Country genre, which is never a bad thing.

And yes, Keith has a new album in the works.

I’ll keep ya posted!

Billy Joel “Turn the Lights Back On”

I was so excited this moring to get to hear the new Billy Joel!

As a fan since I was a kiddo, I was definiely excited to hear his first new release in 31 years. His last was “River of Dreams”, if you can believe that.  Now, Billy has been on the road and performing almost nonstop, but we haven’t gotten anything new until about thirty minues ago.

Here is Billy Joel’s  “Turn the Lights Back On”:

Ahhh… yes. I love it. Classic Billy Joel.  That voice, piano, and strong lyrics… my man still has it!

Oddly enough, Billy didn’t want to sing on the new track that he wrote. He was hoping for someone else like Adele to do it, who is co-writer Freddy Wexler thought of, but in the end, Billy ended up singin on it, and thank goodness he did!

We needed new Billy Joel in this world.

So, yes, loving the new song, and I can’t wait to see Billy Joel perform it at The Grammy Awards Sunday night on CBS!

Also, I shall leave you with one of my favorite Billy Joel songs of all time below:

There’s two of them. I can’ choose right now.

Or… this…

Gah… I forgot you could smoke indoors in  public at one point. Billy makes it work.

Such an icon.

The 2024 Budweiser Super Bowl Ad is Here!

Well, this just made my heart all happy.

First off, I am a bona-fide horse girl, and naturally, the Budweiser Clydesdales are among my favorite things in life! So, I’m always excited to see a new commercial featuring them.

Especially if it’s a Super Bowl commercial. They always bring their A game.

Here’s their effort for the Super Bowl LVIII titled “Special Delivery”:

Awwww… how can you NOT love horses and dogs? Especially together. HOW???

Also, with the Chiefs back in the SB next Sunday, it’s not just commercials I have to look forward to.  I’m hoping for another victory over SF like they did in 2020. What a great moment that was.

Also, you know, Taylor Swift. I’m glad she chose a guy on The Chiefs, a team I already cheered for. She’s got good taste.

Goooo Chieffffssss!!!

Also, please not hateful comments towards Budweiser, ok? Hating on them is sooooo 2023.

If Kid Rock can forgive them, so can you.

Kate Hudson “Talk About Love”

As promised, Kate Hudson just dropped her debut single “Talk About Love”.

Check it out below:

It’s… not horrible.

Kate can definitely sing. I like the chorus and bridge, but the verses are meh in my opinion. The song gets better as it goes on for sure.

Is it something I would personally download? Nah.  But it IS catchy, and overall, not a bad debut at all.

I’m really interested in hearing more from Kate- her voice is really good, and she’s definitely got some range on her.

She just signed wih Virgin Records, so I’m sure more is on the way!

What do you think of Kat Hudson’s debut single?

Morgan Wallen “Spin You Around” 1/24

Morgan Wallen is at the top of his game.

It seems all the controversy from the past few years has only served to propel his to the top- not just of the Country music charts, but the all-genre charts as well. In fact, Morgan Wallen had not only the #1 overall song of 2023 with “Last Night”, he also had the #1 album with “One Thing at a Time”. Again, this is across ALL the genres, not just Country. Not even Taylor Swift could pull that off this past year.

So, of course, some shady people that Morgan used to work with before he hit it big are going to try to capitilize on that.

Here’s what happened, according to Morgan himself:

Yeah, pretty damn shady, but not suprising, sadly.

So, Morgan pulled a Taylor Swift and re-recorded the fan-favorite “Spin You Around” this week:

Again, the song was written a decade ago, when Morgan was just starting out. It’s not terrible, but you can tell  Morgan has definitely grown as a writer since he put out this song. That being said, I’m sure this song will still be streamed like crazy, because, Morgan Wallen.

Oh, and here he is performing it live in 2015:

The hair is just… no.
Also, Morgan said he is hitting the studio next month to begin working on his next project.

Like it or not, Morgan ain’t going anywhere, and I’m totally ok with that.

I remember meeting him and HARDY a few years back at CRS (Country Radio Seminar) in Nashville at the bar at the OMNI hotel. It was right before they hit it big, and they were drunk as hell and just having a good time with their matching mullets. It’s fun to see how far they’ve come since that night in 2019.

That was only 5 years ago. Dang.
