Her new album “Something Beautiful” dropped this morning, and so far, what I’ve heard is pretty damn fantastic.
Her new single is a freaking jam- check out “Easy Lover” below:
Honestly, I was hoping it would be a cover of Phil Collins and Phillip Bailey’s “Easy Lover”, but alas, it’s not.
Remember this gem?
Anyhow, Miley’s “Easy Lover” is almost just as catchy, and I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album today.
Again, I’ll admit that I barely tolerated Miley for the better part of a decade, but she has completely proven herself as one hell of a pop artist and vocalist.
Oh, and her album has a movie to go with it, and will be in theaters one night only on June 12th.
She proved why she is the ACM Entertainer of the Year for the 2nd year in a row with her performance of her new song “Somewhere Over Laredo” at the American Music Awards last night, and in my humble opinion, it was one of the best performances on the show…
Now, that’s how it’s done. No lip synching, no back-up dancers or overtly sexual moves… (Sorry, J Lo… )
Just talent, a good song, and a stunning performance.
“Somewhere Over Laredo” is off of Lainey Wilson’s deluxe version of her latest album “Whirlwind” and will be out August 22nd.
Lainey Wilson just released a new song, and it’s probably one of my favorites of hers so far…
It’s called “Somewhere Over Laredo”, and it’s inspired by the “Wizard of Oz” classic “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, yet it takes on a whole new life of it’s own.
Enjoy:
So, it looks like this song will be off of Lainey’s deluxe version of her latest album “Whirlwind”, which comes out August 22nd.
I love it, and I have a feeling that Lainey is just getting started.
She may end up being one of the “Mount Rushmore” Country artists of the future.
Last month, Kelly Clarkson released a stunning new song called “Where Have You Been”, which I feel like it’s one of the best new releases of 2025 so far, and naturally, she had to perform it on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” for her popular “Kellyoke” segment, and of course, it’s gorgeous:
Kelly’s voice knows no bounds.
Hopefully we’ll get more new music from her in 2025… I really feel like this is one of her best songs of her career so far.
Unless you’ve been under a rock or something, you’re probably aware that Morgan Wallen’s new album “I’m the Problem” dropped today.
It’s huge, too. 37 songs… lots of collabs, of course, but I have to say my favorite so far?
One of the few actually Country songs on the album.
It’s Morgan and his friend and frequent collaborator ERNEST with “The Dealer”:
I like that a lot… kind of a new spin on Kenny Roger’s classic “The Gambler”.
Now, I haven’t had time to listen to the full album yet, as I have a job and a life and stuff… and 37 songs is a bit excessive in my opinion. But so far, it’s a lot of pop-leaning Country (no surprise there) and a really terrible song called “Miami” which is inspired by the late, great Keith Whitley’s “Miami, My Amy” that noone asked for.
Still, the album does have some big hits and solid songs on it, and with 37 songs, it’s hard for them all to be bangers.
And, let’s be real, it’ll be the biggest selling album of the year.
So, clearly, Morgan and his people know what they’re doing.

Willie Nelson teamed up with iconic former Journey frontman Steve Perry for a re-imagining of Journey’s massive 80’s hit ballad “Faithfully”, and it’s pretty dang cool.
First off, Willie is 92 and Steve Perry is 76, so naturally you’re not going to get the same vocal performance as you did decades ago, so let’s just clear that up, ok?
That being said, it’s a pretty neat version with these two legends:
The best part? All proceeds to Farm Aid, to support family farmers and the good food movement.
I’m just now getting back to watching singing reality competition shows after a long hiatus as my 3-year-old son loves them, and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this guy Renzo on Season 28 of “The Voice’>
Covering Aersomith’s “Dream On” is a tall order for ANYONE, even Steven Tyler himself. Come to think of it, that’s probably how he destroyed his own vocal chords…
Anyhow, I was prepared to feel “meh” about this performance, as I have never really seen a great version other than the original, but holy moly, Renzo just nailed the bajeebus out of this song. (Is that even a word? It is now)
The high notes at the end are next freaking level.
Wait for it…
Impressive, right?
I haven’t watched much of Season 27, but if there is anyone better than that, well, hot damn.
The Season 27 Finale of “The Voice” is next Tuesday, May 20th on NBC, and I hope this guy makes it all the way.
