Skid Row and Lzzy Hale ROCK the Stage!

Yessss… I’ve been waiting for this!

Recently it was announced that Skid Row’s lead singer Erik Gronwall was leaving the band. They had tour dates to do, so they need a fill in, so… enter the Rock Goddess Lzzy Hale of Halestorm.

Sounds to good to be true, right?

Nope. She is legit filling in until they get a new lead singer.

Last night was her first show with the band at Walker’s Bluff Casino Resort in Carterville, Illinois, and they brought the huse down.

I’m a huge Lzzy fan, as she is just incredibly talented, and has really paved the way for more badass women in Rock.  I was really excited to see her covering all the Skid Row live, and of course, she didn’t disappoint.

I mean, it’s Lzzy Hale.

Check out her cover of “18 & Life”:

Dammmnnnn…

Oh, and of course, you can’t have a Skid Row concert without the power ballad “I Remember You”:

Yup. Killed it.

That is an incredibly hard song to sing, and that last vocal run is nearly impossible to nail. Sebastian Bach- the OG lead singer of Skid Row- may be a bit of a hot mess, but dude had the pipes.

If there’s anyone who can handle it, it’s definitely Lzzy.

Lzzy will be filling in for a few more dates, and you can find out more at https://loudwire.com/skid-row-setlist-video-lzzy-hale/

Can she just be the permanent replacement?

Please?

I think that Sonny and Cher and Simon & Garfunkle shouldn’t get to count as they’re already established duos. If that’s the case, then why isn’t Starship’s “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” on the list? Because this song is still a freaking jam:

What is your favorite Rock duet? Is there anything that should be on the list?

HARDY “Psycho”

In case you’ve been under a rock or something, HARDY is ne of the biggest names in Country right now, and moonlights as a Rock singer as well. He had his first #1 on Mainstream Rock last year with “Jack”, and it was one of my favrite songs of 2023:

HARDY is not only continuing to dominate the Country world, but is getting full on into Rock as well. He announced his first full-length Rock album “Quit!” which will be released on July 12th.

To get you ready for it, he just released his new song “Psycho” today, and I’m digging both the song and the video:

This song reminds me of an ex or two.

I mean, that’s kind of scary, but at least it’s relateable?

I know there’s some complaints about genre-crossing artists, but I’m really enjoying the dual musical stylings of artists like HARDY, Jelly Roll and Chris Stapleton.

Who says you have to stay in your lane?

I never really subscribed to that notion.

HARDY has a full rest f 2024 ahead, and you can get info, dates, and more at https://hardyofficial.com/

George Strait “MIA Down in MIA”

Well, this was a happy surprise last night.

THE KING George Strait just released his new song “MIA Down in MIA” last night during the ACM Awards, and it’s pure George Strait Country Perfection:

Yes. All the yes. You can NEVER go wrong with King George. I am so glad to have new music from him! Makes my little Country loving heart happy.

It’s a perfect Summer Country song. I can definitely see some beer and margarita drinking being done to this.

The single is off of his upcoming album “Cowboys and Dreamers” due out later this year.

Also, be on the lookout for track listing at CowboysDreamers.com

And, of course, the KING is on the road this year with Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town.

“Wicked” Official Trailer

Ok, this looks like it could actually be really cool.

The “Wicked” movie trailer just dropped, and it looks pretty dang cool.

Of course, the movie is based on the popular Broadway musical which I love… if you’re not familiar, it’s about how the Wicked Witch came to be… and it’s a classic.

The movie stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda, and it’s looking promising:

I’m a total musical nerd, and this has me just a wee bit excited.

Say what you will about Ariana Grande, girlfriend is MEGA talented. Like, woah.

“Wicked” hits theaters November 26th, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Hopefully it fares better than the movie adaptation of “Cats”.

Luke Combs “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma”

Dammnnnn, Luke Combs!

He jus sang the brakes off of this song.

It’s called “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma” and Luke wrote it for the upcoming  “Twisters” movie soundtrack, and it his hard:

I’ve been so used to Luke’s love songs, beer songs and now dad songs (and the endless airplay loop of his version of “Fast Car”) that it was kind of a pleasant surprise to hear some real rocker vibes on this track.

Dude has some serious pipes, and I’m so happy that this is his new radio single. I can jam to this all damn day.

“Twisters” – the sequel to the 1996 Tornado Classic will be out July 19th.

Chayce Beckham Interview!

I was lucky enough to get to chat with “Amercian Idol” Season 19 Winner and Country Star Chayce Beckham, and seriously, SUCH a nice guy, and he’s got quite a future ahead in the industry, especially coming off of his first #1 hit “23”:

I absolutely LOVE that song, which, by the way, he was the solo writer on it.

We talk about that and more in the interview below:

Aaaah! Week = Made.

Also, in case you haven’t heard it yet, here’s Chayce’s latest single “Everything I Need”:

Singers Falling Down the Stairs

One of my favorite YouTube Channels is “There I Ruined It”, and they just released another masterpiece called “Singers Falling Down the Stairs”.

This gave me a good chuckle this morning:

Hilarious, right????

I especially love the Tom Petty and James Hetfield.

Check out https://www.youtube.com/@ThereIRuinedIt and subscribe- I absolutely love their content!

Lainey Wilson “Hang Tight Honey”

Lainey Wilson just made Monday a little sweeter…

She just dropped a new song off her upcoming album “Whirlwind”, and it’s a feisty one.

It’s called “Hang Tight Honey” and it’s exactly what I had hoped for:

Yes! I love it! Lainey Wilson is on a hot streak, and shows no signs of slowing down.

Her new album “Whirlwind” comes out August 23rd, and she has also announced her own bar “Bell Bottoms Up” which will be taking over the FGL House off of Broadway in Nashville.

You know you’re killing the Country game when you get your own bar in Nashville.

Carly Pearce “Fault Line”

I have to say that this is my favorite song that Carly Pearce has released in a minute.

Carly released the latest off of her upcoming 4th studio album “hummingbird”, and it’s a perfect Country heartbreak song with a little bit of sass. Totlly giving Tammy Wynette vibes with this one:

Well, if that isn’t the perfect little Country bop…

Carly’s upcoming album “hummingbird” comes out June 7th, and it’s gonna be a good one.
