Lainey Wilson “Country’s Cool Again”

Ya’ll know I love me some Lainey Wilson.

Who doesn’t these days, right?

I’m happy to say that I was one of the first to the party. I know good when I see it (or hear it, in her case!).

Well, I was excited to see that Lainey is teasing a new song on social media called “Country’s Cool Again”.

Give it a listen:

@laineywilson There must be something in the water…#CountrysCoolAgain ???? ???? #countrymusic #acousticmusic ♬ original sound – Lainey Wilson

Yep. It’s gonna be a hit, for sure.

Also, here’s her performing it at Red Rocks recently:

Yassss!!!!

So, does that mean a new album?

I sure hope so. Her last release was “Bell Bottom Country” which came out last Fall, and was a huge hit. Her latest single “Watermelon Moonshine” is spending it’s 3rd week at #1 on the Country charts, and her collab with Jelly Roll “Save Me” is climbing the charts with lightening speed.

It’s safe to say that Lainey is here to stay!

Good.

Ashley McBryde “Light on In The Kitchen” Live

Ashley McBryde never fails to deliver.

Seriously, we need more artists like her in ALL the genres.

You know, the talented and real type. The kind of woman you could actually hang out with and relate to… she truly does personify what Country Music is all about.

And her live performance that was just released of her latest single “Light On in the Kitchen” is proof of her incredible talent.

Damn good, right?

If you’re one of those “I Hate Country” types who is wondering why Country resonates with so many, and why it’s selling so much, especially of late?

Well, artists like Ashley is why.

Jelly Roll and Lynyrd Skynyrd “Simple Man”

Jelly Roll is pretty much owning the 2023 Music Scene. His latest single “Need a Favor” is on Country, Rock AND Top 40 radio right now, and he’s garnering lots of viral moments in concert lately, including his duet with Lynyrd Skynyrd on their classic “Simple Man” at a recent show in Jacksonville.

Check it out below:

Pretty flipping cool, right?

I’ve seen Skynyrd several times live, and they always bring it. Seems like Jelly Roll does, too.

I’m really excited to see where Jelly ends up next. You have to admit, his music is great, and his story is hella inspiring.

I’m hoping for more real artists like him in the future!

LeAnne Morgan Interview!

If you’re a woman on Facebook, chances are, you’ve seen at least five LeAnn Morgan shorts on your feed. As a mother, and hailing from The South, I totally fell in love with LeAnne’s version of comedy, and her deadpan delivery. So, when I found out I was going to get to interview her, I was pretty darn tickled. (Oops! My Tennessee is showing!)

Check out the interview below:

Isn’t she “darling” as she would say?

Omg. I love her. And she has a massive comedy tour happening, and is selling out dates nationwide.

Again, you can check the full list atĀ https://loudwire.com/most-controversial-song-year-born/

And this year’s pick? Jason Aldean’s “Try That in a Small Town”, which has caused quite an uproar between politcial parties.

I was born in 1983, so my song is “Relax” by Frankie Goes to Hollywood, which is basically a tutorial on getting off.

What song was raising eyebrows the year you were born?

Which song still gets you all riled up today?

Chris Stapleton “It Takes A Woman”

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it a thousand more times I’m sure… Chris Stapleton can’t miss.

He just dropped a new song off of his upcoming album “Higher” and it’s absolutely glorious.

It’s called “It Takes a Woman” and it’s his signature Bluesy/Rock/Country perfection.

Can we get an “Amen” for his insanely talented wife Morgane on the background vocals? I want HER to release a solo project, or better yet- a duets project with Chris. It needs to happen, like, yesterday.

Chris’s new album Higher will be released on November 10th.

Ann and Nancy Williams of Heart Performing “Barracuda” Live!

First off, I’m just happy that Ann and Nancy Wilson are on good terms again. For awhile there, there was some family drama, and they were doing some solo stuff, but now they’ve reportedly have been working on some music together once more, and Nancy even joined Ann at the encore of her final show of her solo tour in Santa Rosa this week for their classic “Barracuda”:

Now, before anyone gets salty, Ann is 73, and can still pop some high notes out there. All of them? No. But at 23, that song would be hard to nail, let alone 50 years later. She’s still got some pipes, and Nancy can still slay the strings.

Honestly, I just get so inspired seeing these musicians in their seventies and beyond still killing it.

Kudos!!!

Now I can just impatiently wait for new music from Heart.

I’ll keep ye posted!

Foo Fighters “Everlong” Halloween Light Display

This may be the coolest thing I’ve seen this Halloween season so far..

A residence has put on a full Halloween light display featuring “Everlong”Ā  by the Foo Fighters… one of my favorite songs by my favorite bands! A company called “Magical Light Shows” is behind this masterpiece, and they did a stellar job.

I am totally transfixed over here.

And of course, I had to go down the rabbit hole and check out more of their displays… they do amazing work!

Check them atĀ http://magicallightshows.com

Also, atĀ https://www.facebook.com/MagicalLightShows/

Color me hella impressed over here.

I’m sure their electric bill is impressive, too.

Worth it, though!

The Foo Fighters and Shania Twain “Best of You”

Ok, I wish I had been there to see this live.

I LOVEEEE the Foo Fighters, and have been a Shania Twain fan since she came on the scene when I was in Jr. High, so seeing this live would have blown my little mind.

At ACL Fest over the weekend, The Foos brought on none other than Shania to perform one of my favorite Foo Fighters songs “Best of You”:

How cool was that?

I mean, was it a great performance? Nah. But come on, Shania’s voice got all jacked up when she had Lyme disease, and the fact that she’s even out there is cool. I know there’s been some haters online, but come the heck on. Lighten the hell up! Shania just shared the stage with The Foos. That’s what I’m focusing on.

Can we get a collab, please? I feel like Dave would be accepted in any genre, anytime, anywhere.

This made my heart happy this morning.

Carly Pearce “Heels Over Head”

I have loved Carly Pearce since she first hit the Country scene, and dammit, I love her even more after hearing this song!

It’s called “Heels Over Head” and was released early this morning.

Yasssss…. that song is a sick burn to someone… possibly to whoever dated her ex-husband Michael Ray after the divorce?Ā  You know Carly loves to write about real life.

Seriously, I love what Carly is doing for the Country genre. True Country music, great songwriting, real-life experiences, and a fantastic voice to tell the story. She’s got it ALL.

Also, expect more music from Carly in the future. She’s been teasing new stuff on instagram, and I can’t wait to hear more!
