Miranda Lambert “Alimony”

Miranda Lambert recently released another new song off of her upcoming album “Postcards From Texas”, and it’s classic Miranda Awesomeness!

Check out “Alimony”:

Now, THAT is some classic Miranda. Fun, Feisty, and with perfect Country vocals.

Oh, and she just released the acoustic version today:

All these tunes Miranda has been dropping has me all kinds of ready for her new album on her new label Republic Records called “Postcards From Texas”, which comes out September 13th.

Oh, and Friday?

She will release her long-awaited duet with Lainey Wilson “Good Horses”.

I. Can’t. Wait.

The Harvard Opportunes SLAY a Whitney Houston Classic!

Leave it to Harvard to not only have super smart people, but also insanely vocally talented ones, too.

This video popped up on my YouTube feed today, and I was intrigued, so I clikced it, and was absolutely blown away.

The Opportunes (Get it? Nice play on words) just posted a video of a recent performance of the Whitney Houston classic “How Will I Know”, with Nicole Alexander as the soloist, and it’s absolutely incredible!

Well, damn…

How good was that, though, seriously?

And I had to look up Nicole Alexander, and she has a youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/@nikkinicolemusic and I’m surprised that it doesn’t have more followers than it does, because she is freaking magic.

They are all fantastic, and now I’m a fan. I literally just went down The Opportunes rabbit hole, and you can to, at https://www.harvardopportunes.com/

Oh, and this…

You’re welcome.

Post Malone’s First-Ever Release!

Post Malone is inarguably one of the biggest stars in the world right now, and he’s about to take over Country music even more when his album “F-1 Trillion” drops on August 16th.

He’s already dominated Hip Hop, Pop and  Adult Contemporary… but what was his actual first release?

Ummm… this:

No, I’m not even kidding.

To be fair, it was for a high school art class project, and I’m sure he was just being funny. And he got an “A”, so there’s that.

Also, Post Malone was Leon Dechino at the time… but clearly, the alter ego didn’t stick.

I really can’t imagine why.

Hey, we all have to start somewhere right?

Ether way, Post Malone is continuing to dominate, and sorry haters, it doesn’t look like that’s going to stop anytime soon.

Oh, and in case you missed it, Post Malone’s tracklist for “F 1 Trillion” was accidentally leaked by Target, and it’s prety damn stellar… we’re talking Dolly Parton, Chris Stapleton, Lainey Wilson, Hank Williams Jr., Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley and more.

Sadly, “Why Don’t You Love Me” won’t be making a comeback on the album.

Maybe next time.

Billy Joel and Axl Rose Perform at Madison Square Garden!

I’ll take TWO Legends at Madison Square Garden, please.

Last night, Billy Joel wrapped up his run of shows at Madison Square Garden, and celebrated his 150th show there by bringing out another Rock icon: Axl Rose of Guns N’ Roses!

They performed three songs together- a Billy Joel tune, and GNR tune, and a helluva cover of AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell”, because, why the hell not?

Behold:

“You May Be Right”:

“Live and Let Die”:

And… “Highway to Hell”:

Billy Joel on guitar, though. Hot damn!

How freaking cool would it have been to see that live?

Thank God for technology, so that we can experience it second-hand.

It’s better than nothing!

Post Malone and Luke Combs “Guy For That”

Annnnnd we have another gem from Country Posty- this time with Country Superstar Luke Combs wih a collab called “Guy For That”!

Like all of his other Country efforts so far, it’s catchy as hell, and included mega Star Power.

So far, he has songs out with Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton, Luke Combs, and a collab with HARDY coming soon.

What’s next?

We’ll surely find out more in he next few weeks leading to Post Malone’s first full-length Country album “F-1 Trillion”, which drops August 16th.

Are These The Best Song of the 90’s?

It happens every few years.

Some major publication comes up with a list of the “Best Songs of (Insert) Decade”, and people aregue over it.

The latest to partake is “Equire”, with their list of “The Best Songs of the 90’s”.

Not really sure what they’re basing it on… opinion, I guess?

Anyhow, here’s the Top 10 “Best Songs of the 90’s” according to “Esquire”:

1.  “Smells Like Teen Spirit”,  Nirvana

2.  “Fantasy (Remix)”,  Mariah Carey

3.  “Nuthin’ But a ‘G’ Thang”,  Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg

4.  “[Eff] and Run”,  Liz Phair

5.  “Around the World”,  Daft Punk

6.  “Cannonball”,  The Breeders

7.  “Supa Dupa Fly”,  Missy Elliott

8.  “Rebel Girl”,  Bikini Kill

9.  “Sabotage”,  Beastie Boys

10.  “Only Shallow”,  My Bloody Valentine

Check out the rest here:https://www.esquire.com/entertainment/music/g61592643/best-90s-songs/?source=nl&date=072324&GID=f5a98775fb7c088678716c2ff6f4e07cf83465403aba12c8dee16ba2ca6ed1f8&utm_source=fark&utm_medium=website&utm_content=link&ICID=ref_fark

Now, obviously, “Smells Like Team Spirit” is #1, because it literally defined a generation.

But the rest of the Top 10? “Wonderwall” is great, but the others don’t hit me as Top 10 material. I’d definitely have “You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morissette in the Top 10 for sure, as well as “Just a Girl” by No Doubt and “Killing Me Softly” by The Fugees.

Then again, those songs defined the 90’s for me.

That’s what’s so great about music- it’s personal, and everyone experiences it differently.

What do YOU think the “Best” Song of the 90’s is?

Carrie Underwood Covers the Heck Out of “Don’t Stop Believin'”

Carrie Underwood brought down the house over the weekend in Honolulu! She’s getting a lot of attention for her cover of the massive Journey hit “Don’t Stop Believin'”, which is incredibly hard to pull off, because, well, Steve Perry. He’s easily one of the best vocalists to ever vocal.  Carrie and her golden pipes did one heck of a job, though! Enjoy:

Damnnnnn…

I’ll be completely honest, I don’t love all of Carrie’s music that she puts out- I firmly believe that her ealry releases were her best- but when it comes to pure vocal talent, well, it’s hard to beat those pipes.

The mark of true talent is how they perform live. Carrie effortlessly knocks out those high notes without any trouble at ALL.

I used to sing in an 80’s Cover Band, and had the blind ambition to sing “Don’t Stop Believin'”.

It was maybe OK at best. My talent level is just a tiny portion of what Carrie’s is. Which is why she does what she does, and why I talk about it.

BUT… I can do splits while singing “Pour Some Sugar On Me” and not miss a beat.

Carrie, can you do that?

@meganontheradio #tbt to when I was in a band and I got to sing at bars and act like a middle-aged Coyote Ugly chick. Good times. #rock #defleppard #dance #splits ♬ original sound – Megan Vaughan

I’m such a class act.

Anyhow, for some more REAL talent, how about the OG “Don’t Stop Believing”?

There is a reason that it is the “Most Popular Song in History” according to Forbes:

New Miranda Lambert “Alimony”

Well, this made my Monday WAY better!

Miranda Lambert performed a new song of hers live for the first time ever in concert over the weekend- it’s called “Alimony” and it’s the PERFECT divorce song, and so perfectly Miranda:

First off, how great is she live?

Secondly, how fun is that song? Kind of a spicy twist on divorse. Of course, after her husband was seen grinding on some bachelorettes at Miranda’s Nashville bar recently, some thing this song is her answer to his behavior.

I don’t think so… because he’d be the one getting alimony, not Miranda.

Either way, super fun song, and it’s got me even more hyped for  her upcoming album on Republic Records!

Weird Al “Polkamania!”

Weird Al is back with a glorius Polka Medley called “Polkamania!” which combines some of the biggest pop songs of the past decade- everyone from Adele to Billie Eilish to Taylor Swift- and it’s just what America needed this week:

Weird Al is a total freaking genius.

I grew up adoring his masterpieces like “Amish Paradise”. “Fat”, “Like a Surgeon”, “White and Nerdy” and so, so many more.

I’d share them here with you, but for some reason, Weird Al’s Youtube channel won’t allow me to share on the site.

Weird. Al.

What the hell?

BUT you can educate yourself by checking out his youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDBrVr0ttWpoRY-_yZajp2Q

Thank you, Baby Jesus, for Weird Al.

Post Malone “Yours”

I can’t love this song enough.

Post Malone is gearing up for the release of his upcoming Country album “F-1 Trillion” and did a live show in Nashville earlier this week at Marathon Music Works. He debuted several new songs, including “Yours”, which he wrote about his 2-year-old daughter getting married one day, and how he will feel if that happens.

As a mother, this basically slays my heart:

Oh, my heart!

You will be hearing this at ALL the weddings for the next couple of decades.

Seriously, I am so impressed with Post Malone and how he’s moving into Country music.

I absolutely cannot wait for his album “F-1 Trillion”, which drops August 16th. He will, of course, have a tour to follow, and you can get those dates at http://Postmalone.com
