Carrie Underwood brought down the house over the weekend in Honolulu! She’s getting a lot of attention for her cover of the massive Journey hit “Don’t Stop Believin'”, which is incredibly hard to pull off, because, well, Steve Perry. He’s easily one of the best vocalists to ever vocal. Carrie and her golden pipes did one heck of a job, though! Enjoy:
Damnnnnn…
I’ll be completely honest, I don’t love all of Carrie’s music that she puts out- I firmly believe that her ealry releases were her best- but when it comes to pure vocal talent, well, it’s hard to beat those pipes.
The mark of true talent is how they perform live. Carrie effortlessly knocks out those high notes without any trouble at ALL.
I used to sing in an 80’s Cover Band, and had the blind ambition to sing “Don’t Stop Believin'”.
It was maybe OK at best. My talent level is just a tiny portion of what Carrie’s is. Which is why she does what she does, and why I talk about it.
BUT… I can do splits while singing “Pour Some Sugar On Me” and not miss a beat.
Carrie, can you do that?
@meganontheradio #tbt to when I was in a band and I got to sing at bars and act like a middle-aged Coyote Ugly chick. Good times. #rock #defleppard #dance #splits ♬ original sound – Megan Vaughan
I’m such a class act.
Anyhow, for some more REAL talent, how about the OG “Don’t Stop Believing”?
There is a reason that it is the “Most Popular Song in History” according to Forbes:
