Kelsea Ballerini released one heck of a new song this past Friday- it’s called “I Sit in Parks”, and I really feel like it’s one of her best yet.

It’s the plight of the modern woman:

That song hits different, right?

Very honest and vulnerable… and having had a child later in life (at 38) after establishing my career, I definitely relate to the subject. Sure, my career isn’t an iota as to what Kelsea’s career is, but still, I get it.

It’s something that so many women struggle with internally… do you get married and have kids first? Or work to fulfill your potential in the working world? Or both?

Both is hard, but it can be done. I’m proof of that.

Lord, it’s a lot of juggling and constantly restructuring, yet extremely fulfilling at the same time.

I hope Kelsea- and every woman in this situation- can find the happiness they long for.

That being said, Kelsea has really upped her game as a songwriter this past decade, and I can’t wait to hear more from her.

Luckily, that’s not a long wait… her new EP “Mount Pleasant” drops this Friday, November 14th.
